Ah the lovely early days in Elin, where you're no better than a hobo. Anyway more Elin is definitely welcomed, thanks Lime A few tips after watching the whole video: - You can bring beds with you and you can press F5 (by default) to use it automatically to sleep. Makeshift bed is alright, but there's a hammock on Tinker's Camp near the cat merchant you can get - Foul Race quests actually has no deadlines (the one at 14:55). While the '19 days left' is shown there, it also serves as how long the quest stays on the quest board - Fertility is actually the total limit on how many you can plant. You can plant all your seeds sure, but if fertility's negative the plant will mostly just crumble. Fertility is also consumed by EVERY plant, even if its not yours (also the two 'decorational fishes' on the tiny lake for some reason lol). You can check this by buying the home board from Fiama (hooded lady at your base) - Also checking on Fiama's and Loytel's shop, there's recipes for other crafting benches and other useful base stuff on them - And this might be a bit game-y, but stringing yourself up in the gallows can make your residents/ally attack you or vice versa (grab gallows and stand next to other resident to string them up). You or the others wont die when stringed up so its a good way to train defensive or offensive stats this way. Like I said game-y advice so your choice, tho a couple skills levels can definitely help out
bought the game because of you and I love it!! its so fun to watch and play. (p.s. according to my TH-cam recap I'm in the top .2% of your viewers, thanks for the content Lime!! )
Advice for when you're struggling to get a consistent food/money source: - pick flowers, use hammer on them to turn them into leaves (made of raw food) - use the leaves to make makeshift arrows - place them in a compost box to turn them into fertilizer - use hammer on fertilizer to turn it into corpses - turn corpses into bait for fishing That's food done, so for money: - shred fish into bonito flakes using sawmill - place in brewery barrels to make wine - ??? - profit Edit: for any future viewers, this method of turning flowers into bait has been heavily nerfed. Your best bet is now either planting mushrooms or going into a dungeon with copper walls. Mine the walls for scrap, turn them into nails and use hammer on the nails to turn them into bones which you can then make into bait.
The fish wine then can further be enhanced by the restaurant policy increasing the cost benefits on beverages You can then learn sculpting at the Japanese town south then go robbing the thieves guild at derpthy north west of meadows Then applying the golden coins and crown they have via pickpocketing you can create golden sculptures of your enemies With a bit more work you can then use the tourism generated to build an inn to increase the benefits of high tourism then get carpentry to increase the amount of money they pay for each night This also can then further be boosted by the residential tax
When you complete a quest you get infuence for that are. You can (among others) use it to re-roll quests and exchange 1:1 for furniture tickets with the mayor of the settlement. Nearby tinkers camp has a hammock for 2 tickets. It's one of the better beds for stamina and weighs 0.2s so it's easy to carry. Just watch out for fire. You can sleep in any bed in town (even Palmias king bed) with no negative consequences.
If you're not sure an NPC is friend or foe towards you like that guard, just hover the cursor over them and take note of the color of their name in the tool tip at the top of the screen. Blue = Friendly White = Neutral Red = Aggressive
You can enable an option in the options menue to auto pickup harvested materials . So when you fell trees, mine ores or dig grass, the goods dont land on the floor first and are transferred into your inventory instad.
To properly farm, you need to make a sickle as well. Shame it's not covered by the tutorial. Plants in Elin barely give back any seeds, so after one harvest, you might not be able to grow anything else. A sickle will let you get seeds from your crops. You have to sacrifice the harvest though. A rule of thumb is to sickle half of your crops for seeds. It will also let you level the seeds up, but crop breeding is something to take care of later tbh
There's also a law called Delegated Farming which makes the game farm on its own, harvesting and replanting the crops provided you have a farm sign around the crops and a shared box edit: It's better to sickle the harvestable crops yourself as once the seeds level up, you get different attributes which you can plant separately (crop breeding i think)
flowers are food. just not a good type, but still useful when you are starving to death. also in your inventory you have a button to automatically store things on chest, given that you have some of what you have on you in that chest.
when you get a chance, you should buy some blueprints from loytel as he has the stuff you need for wood/stone walls and floors (which is way easier than making grass stuff). the other npc has town boards you should buy too so you can do laws and cheek on the land. and finally cut down any vegetation that isn't your farm stuff as they take the limited fertility of the land and make it harder to grow (also if you make a sickle you can harvest seeds from plants like apple trees and mushrooms. i usually steal seeds from the farming quests in town for stuff like carrots)
Haha i brought the game after your first two videos and now i got like 600 days across 2 characters 😂 Small tips - when youre in big towns use all of their crafting gear like stoves! Just make sure you have wood on you to use for fuel, but in a pinch you can go chop a tree in the town and use that. I use the stove at the bar or the fireplace at the inn - in mysellia go sleep in the kings bed! Somehow they dont mind it xD - buy rations from the innkeeper and press m3 on the map, that makes you able to faat travel. Use fast travel for escort missions since u wont meet any enemies when you do that 👍 - do some quests in tinkers camp until u have 2 or 3 furniture tickets and grab the hanging bed behind the cats shop. It has great regen and doesnt weight much so keep it in your inventory so you can sleep whenever :)

This is probably not ideal for a lets play though... 2- go up and left there's a city there which is home for the thiefs guild. Since you're experimenting with stuff you'll likely eventually get the requirements for entry just by playing. you can then train the pickpocket skill there which allows you to actually steal stuff from both mobs (no karma penalty) and neutral npcs or from the ground in towns (karma penalty). You can get some good stuff this way including some harder to get furniture... 2-try fishing and placing caught fish on a sawmill. What comes out doesnt rot and can be used to make other food (it'll also be useful for money making later on, i will comment a tip once you get what you need) ;)

@@yileiou7753 yeah with one of the skills you can attach an npc to you and they dont use ammo... so you can give them a powerful gun and they will just passively kill things while sharing a body with you... they can still "die" but rather than actually die they will simply fall unconscious until the battle is over and then go back to normal so its also a good way to protect low health npcs with high damage like mages/gunners.

before you planted you should have gotten rid of all the plants/flowers/trees randomly littering your plot of land. each one takes away from your total fertility and attempts to grow anything without fertility means when you go to harvest it it just vanishes. invest in a scythe, as well, because seeds are hard to gain from harvests. berries and mushrooms are best and second best to grow, because you can cask them and turn it into alcohol.

I was fine until I let Loytel talk me into starting a second settlement. "There are no downsides to owning a lot of land" he says. :P It's okay though, once you're strong enough to fight monsters you can spend influence to reroll quests in town to target monster hunting quests and make a good amount of money in a short time. I've got several months' worth of taxes saved up now, so I can focus on my real passion of decorating my bases. XD
@@alpacaAnarchyou don't get anything unless you go there though and the decorations (like piles of dirt or wood) are worth good money :p
I'm struggling more with killing the damn elf on a level 4 cave and getting to a freaking dragon XD
Dig dirt with a shovel(just leave your finger on the right click with the mouse Over a dirt square until you don't have stamina anymore, drop dirt as needed to avoid Overweight status), Turn Said dirt into floors, sell each for 4orens a piece. You can easily get 1000 orens/day. I've also been testing but it seems the "tax evasion" skill can get to a point were you actively stop getting taxes so i dont think its One of the things that requires mods IMO...
you can buy followers with the gold bars you get. also you can auto-battle and ur guy will automatically use attacks and spells. its good for when ur against trash that u know u will defeat. love this game
