    Solid Advice..."Put everything the way you found it." And that little gem works in a multitude of different situations.

      Thanks, I try to get the vehicle back together in a way where it doesn’t look like it’s been touched when I can, just cleaner lol

    Thanks for this video. Easiest water pump I have done. Done the water pump on 2006 A3, 1999 A6 Quattro, and my 2014 A7. Of all of them this was the easiest water pump to do thanks to you.

      I need to do the t-stat and PCV body, but my water pump is leaking so bad I need to that first. Just don't want to have to keep putting fluids in. It adds up at $20+ a gal.

    What was the torque specs on the water pump and the pulley?

  • @stevenbeall9637
    @stevenbeall9637 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Question: I thought my supercharger was bad because of a really bad grinding sound, so I pulled the supercharger belt off and started it. The sound is still there and I saw coolant at the bottom of the motor. it's only leaking when I drive since theres nothing on the driveway even after a couple days sitting. Are water pumps known to make that much racket when they go bad? Two differnt people mentioned to me that it sounds like a bad supercharger, so I was assuming that's what it was. Gotta be the water pump right?

    I have a question. My water pump pulley has a wobble on my 2015 Audi S5 and it also squeals. Will replacing this fix these issues?

    • @EuropeanAutoRepair
      @EuropeanAutoRepair  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the bearing of the water pump has play it should probably be replaced, while the belt is off check other pulleys and tensioner

    I assume you did this with car in service mode. Interesting fox without taking the engine manifold off.

    • @EuropeanAutoRepair
      @EuropeanAutoRepair  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I didn’t have it in service mode, core support and bumper still in place, it’s a little tight but not too bad on this model

      Sorry not home but I found a 12 point set at o'rielys...it only had 6 8,10,and 12. I think the water pump was an 8 and the belly shield was a 10? The bits where like long metric Allen heads so cut one in half and used a wrench to slide it into for the water pump...the tensioner was a 15mm wrench I think.

    • @EuropeanAutoRepair
      @EuropeanAutoRepair  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could be several things, thermostats fail often on this model

      Make sure you've bled all of the air from the coolant system after refilling it.

    I just did this same job, have nowhere near as much room to remove water pump. Tried for hours it’s stuck. Have to take front bumper off🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

      It’s insane it’s like 1mm away from coming out in every possible angle but just won’t come out. Already broke fins trying to force it out

    • @Leakybags5
      @Leakybags5 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EuropeanAutoRepair I’m hitting either my supercharger brick cooling pipes in front, or stuck between my front fan assembly and pulleys cannot get it out anyway. Bottom top left right😂 going to just pull the SC and do the tstat too😂😂
