    Hey there, fellow model enthusiasts! Get ready for a fantastic journey as I dive into the world of model cars. In this video, I'm taking on the cool 1971 Olds 442 W30 model kit, and guess what? You picked it in a poll! This kit, number 14511, comes with a Level 5 challenge rating and is recommended for ages 13 and up.
    My adventure kicks off with some serious bodywork. I'll show you how to prime it using Mr. Hobby Grey primer, add a slick base color with Tamiya Dark Copper XF-28, and give it that glossy finish with Mr. Hobby GX112 clear coat.
    But I'm not stopping there! I'll also jazz up the interior, giving it that classic semi-gloss look using Tamiya X-18. And while I work my modeling magic, I'll sprinkle in some fun facts about the Olds 442 and its glory days during the Muscle Car wars of the '60s and '70s.
    I'll spill the beans on how to make surfaces smooth, deepen those panel lines, and do some wet sanding. Plus, I'll share my secret sauce for the perfect thinning ratios and airbrush settings to make your model shine.
    Applying decals can be a bit tricky, but don't worry, I've got your back. I'll show you how to soften those decals and protect them from the sun's rays with the right amount of clear coat.
    While we wait for the clear coat to do its thing, I'll tackle the other parts, painting them up in style. I might even throw in some chrome detailing with Molotov markers, just for fun!
    Finally, it's assembly time! I'll put it all together using Super-Gold-Plus CA glue and Micro Kristal Klear for the transparent bits. I promise, it's easier than it sounds.
    Whether you're a pro modeler or just dipping your toes into the hobby, this video is full of cool tips and tricks to make your model kit adventure a blast. Don't forget to drop me a comment, hit that like button, and subscribe for more model kit fun. Thanks for joining me! Cheers!
    Recording just for entertaining purposes, there might be as many ideas for doing it as number of all die cast in whole world :D

      @@AdHocCars of I were to give one car, it would probably be the 1969 Dodge Charger made by Revell. It's one of the iconic muscle cars of that era.
      For a more challenging build, I would recommend the MPC 1967 Pontiac GTO. Where it is an iconic car, this kit is plagued with fitment issues. I personally think you could make this ill fitting kit into a beautiful build, I feel it would be more important to the hobby for others to see that even the not so good kits can be made beautifully with some patience.

      @@AdHocCars there are so many things that can go wrong with the clear! Bugs or dirt, some kinds you can put like a plastic tote over them, but others will have a bad reaction to that. Or worse if your like me and want to touch it too soon lol

    Watched! And I didn't fall asleep 😉. Fine color combination, quite nice detail for out of the box model. American cars are not my favorite ones, but this one looks really good!
    I have to test your method and thin GX clear in such a big ratio (4to1, 6to1). Last time I tested rather 1:1,7 ratio (1 paint, around 1,7 Leveling Th) but with higher pressure to push that thick paint through the 0,4mm nozzle.

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Actually I am into Porsches, but I have to say that this kit brought a lot of joy while working on it. I didn't know much about american cars (still don't know much :D ) but I know more about Olds for sure as I read couple of facts about this car prior video preparation :D . I am using Aircobra with 0.3 nozzle, the smallest or medium spot size and ratio 1 to 4 and 1 to 6 (paint : thinner). I haven't mentioned that it is quite easy to overspray doing that this way so you shouldn't rush, as if there is too much paint you can see all the paint running to one place making a thick layer. which you would need to sand later on... and that cost time... time that you could spent on more fun things :D I airbrush at 15 PSI (1 bar) sometimes lower :)

      @@AdHocCars I know that it is easy to overspray and run paint with 1 to 4 or 6 ratio. It is easy even for 1 to 3 ratio. One false move of hand forward and... 😁💩.

      You're welcome! I think you should try contacting Revell via their warranty request portal at www.revell-service.de/en/revell-warranty-request/. I did it twice, initially when the kit was missing the fuel cap for the Porsche 918, and the second time when the car bodywork was bent for the Porsche 911. Every time, Revell sent the missing parts back, usually within 2 weeks (in EU) :)

    which is the best superglue that wont frost the windows?

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I used to glue windows with Micro Kristal Klear and got really nice results, as you have enough time to position the window and wipe off the excess glue with water. Then I switched to CA glue and accidentally spilled it on the window. It didn't frost it, but the only way I could fix it was to sand it down. I used BSI Super Gold Plus, which is odorless and foam-safe. It is really great, but due to the nature of CA glue, I will probably stick to Micro Kristal Klear😀

      Sounds like a plan! 🤞 Fingers crossed for using Duplicolor! I haven't used it yet, but I've heard different opinions, from some saying it's "hot" and it disolves everything it touches to others saying it's a perfect solution for painting.
