The S8 has full HDR for its display. The iPhone 8 and 8 plus does not have full on HDR, because of its LCD display. Also you said the iPhone has more and better games. The S8 has VR games which blow away any mobile 2D/3D type game. iPhone's VR is crap, because it's poor low resolution displays. It's the main reason why Apple themselves don't support VR.

clear your cache and make sure your storage is not over 90% full. If you do that your s8 should stay smooth for years. I have done that with my s6 since launch date and it is still as smooth as launch date.

Just something that Samsung can’t even measure but then apple will even let you adjust the perk. I switched from the iPhone 6 to Galaxy S7 and liked it at first, but honestly, I can't wait to go back to Apple. The only real things that I preferred on Android over Apple was the customisability and the ability to insert a micro SD. iPhones are just more glorious, LBR.

I've had android pretty much ever since I had my first phone ( so for about like 7 years now ). I'm debating on switching from the S8 to the iPhone 8+ soon. Nothing wrong with my S8, I just think its time for a change. Would the switch be worth it?
After a year I will be able to sell my iPhone for a good price easy. The phone maintains it's value over a longer stretch of time and it allows me to upgrade to the newest versions of the phone without breaking the bank each year. Having said that, I don't know how Galaxy prices are holding up, but other Android phones showed massive devaluation after a year. So that's why I play it safe and go with the iPhone.

I always skip a generation to get a real new experience or feel. I have the S7+, and it's awesome, before I had the S5 and before that I had the S3. Now I'm looking into S8+ but I feel it isn't so much of an new phone and I'll wait for the S9+ instead. The same goes for Iphone, always skip a generation so you'll feel it is a new and enhanced phone instead of a simple upgrade.
I have an iPhone 6s plus. I have no good reason to upgrade to an iPhone 8 plus. Some of the people here in comments are mentioning about the new A11 bionic chip. Seriously guys that is only going to benefit you in some powerful. It wont make much difference on daily to daily usage. My iPhone 6s plus is still running great with a good battery life. Either I will keep this phone for one more year and then see what apple got for the next gen. Or will simply move to samsung. At least I can enjoy OLED infinity display, fast charging and dual sim. If you really want an apple phone and have an iphone 6 or models before that then i agree with speed demo iphone 7 plus will be a better option. Remember i8 now has a glass on the back too.

My biggest concern is switching to a different operating system. I used to have one of those Samsung minis? And I had the worst time with it. It didn’t do the basics like calling! So that’s why I switched to the iPhone 6 Plus...but now my iPhone 6 Plus is lagging and it’s battery is total shit (I actually carry 2 portable chargers to and from work while still charging it throughout the day...) and it’s just not something I want to be tied down to. But switching to a different operating system that I had originally had problems with is my problem. Should I just make the switch? The s8 sounds amazing and exactly what I currently want, but I’m not sure how it’s going to go down.

I was using samsung mobiles from the first Samsung Android phones. My first was the S2 and then came like S3Neo, S5, S6 Edge, S7 Edge, Note8. Im not okay with Samsung anymore. The SAMSUNG phones lower performance after long time. They become laggy, they crash applications and the most important is that THEY DONT GET UPDATES after 1 year or smth like this. This is something like your phone gonna be the same and the performance gonna get lower than before but if you have an iPhone then we speak about a phone that is gonna keep new and fresh like the first days , after 5 years t.ex. - My wife uses an iPhone 5s and is still fast, fantastic and every application works like before! My opinion. There is no other phone than iPhone, even if ''Bezels''or screens are not in point, you have a best in your pocket and a beast which gonna surprise you every time that its gonna get an update.
I’ve been using Apple phones from the Iphone5, I really enjoy Apple phones and their ecosystem has always sealed the deal for me. But I am SO BORED with the design. I feel like I’ve had the same phone for the last four years even though I update every year. I don’t want to pay 1000 dollars for basically a beta phone but I’m over the design of the iPhone8 and not particularly impressed with IOS11. So I’m switching to the s8+.
I have the S8 Plus and though its a great looking phone its severely laggy. Apps crash all the time. This was my first Samsung phone after switching from years with an iPhone. I thought I would be impressed... and for the most part I am, but they have a few bugs to work out of this phone. At this price point the phone should be working flawlessly.

I think you should make the switch. I had the iPhone 5 and 6 the decided to try the Galaxy s6. Since then I was converted lol. I got bored of ios anyhow. I have the S8+ now and it's a beast, definitely a huge upgrade from your 5s. You'll love the S8 and won't regret it for sure. It's not as complicated as everyone makes it out to be. Does the same exact things and more lol. Just take the time to explore it the first week and you'll get it easily 👍🏼

You are right about Samsung. I love bot of these phones and I’ve used both, but iPhone just seems more sophisticated and the software updates are much more organized. On android, you’re phone will be outdated soon software wise because you don’t know it you’ll ever get the new update. Besides, about the value for Samsung as you said, that’s very true.

I've had android pretty much ever since I had my first phone ( so for about like 7 years now ). I'm debating on switching from the S8 to the iPhone 8+ soon. Nothing wrong with my S8, I just think its time for a change. Would the switch be worth it?

After a year I will be able to sell my iPhone for a good price easy. The phone maintains it's value over a longer stretch of time and it allows me to upgrade to the newest versions of the phone without breaking the bank each year. Having said that, I don't know how Galaxy prices are holding up, but other Android phones showed massive devaluation after a year. So that's why I play it safe and go with the iPhone.

Great review. Both great phones. I wonder about the iPhone's bluetooth 5.0 audio quality. S8 uses APTX and sounds great so how does that compare. Don't have a iPhone 8 to test.

I always skip a generation to get a real new experience or feel. I have the S7+, and it's awesome, before I had the S5 and before that I had the S3. Now I'm looking into S8+ but I feel it isn't so much of an new phone and I'll wait for the S9+ instead. The same goes for Iphone, always skip a generation so you'll feel it is a new and enhanced phone instead of a simple upgrade.
I have an iPhone 6s plus. I have no good reason to upgrade to an iPhone 8 plus. Some of the people here in comments are mentioning about the new A11 bionic chip. Seriously guys that is only going to benefit you in some powerful. It wont make much difference on daily to daily usage. My iPhone 6s plus is still running great with a good battery life. Either I will keep this phone for one more year and then see what apple got for the next gen. Or will simply move to samsung. At least I can enjoy OLED infinity display, fast charging and dual sim. If you really want an apple phone and have an iphone 6 or models before that then i agree with speed demo iphone 7 plus will be a better option. Remember i8 now has a glass on the back too.
I was tempted to buy the iPhone 8 for the chipset, but holy shit has that been a bust. The benchmarks are impressive but that's about it.

I was thinking of going back to an iphone - get an 8 plus and ditch my s8plus for the sole reason of getting back to the whole ios ecosystem since i own macbooks and ipads. After seeing this video, made me realize the s8 is way better. Thanks Nick!

My biggest concern is switching to a different operating system. I used to have one of those Samsung minis? And I had the worst time with it. It didn’t do the basics like calling! So that’s why I switched to the iPhone 6 Plus...but now my iPhone 6 Plus is lagging and it’s battery is total shit (I actually carry 2 portable chargers to and from work while still charging it throughout the day...) and it’s just not something I want to be tied down to. But switching to a different operating system that I had originally had problems with is my problem. Should I just make the switch? The s8 sounds amazing and exactly what I currently want, but I’m not sure how it’s going to go down.

I've always preferred the iPhone, but decided to switch it up and get a silver s8 this year (upgraded from the gold 6 Plus). I love it! I would choose it over the iPhone 8 Plus or X, but one thing I will always give Apple is the longevity of their products and the way their products integrate seamlessly into your life.

I bought this iOS 7+ days before the s8 was released. It didn't take long for me to realize the mistake I have made. Now that the s8 note is out and about; it's time to definitely upgrade and I'll just hand down this iOS 7+ to the Wifey!

I was using samsung mobiles from the first Samsung Android phones. My first was the S2 and then came like S3Neo, S5, S6 Edge, S7 Edge, Note8. Im not okay with Samsung anymore. The SAMSUNG phones lower performance after long time. They become laggy, they crash applications and the most important is that THEY DONT GET UPDATES after 1 year or smth like this. This is something like your phone gonna be the same and the performance gonna get lower than before but if you have an iPhone then we speak about a phone that is gonna keep new and fresh like the first days , after 5 years t.ex.
- My wife uses an iPhone 5s and is still fast, fantastic and every application works like before!
My opinion. There is no other phone than iPhone, even if ''Bezels''or screens are not in point, you have a best in your pocket and a beast which gonna surprise you every time that its gonna get an update.
I’ve been using Apple phones from the Iphone5, I really enjoy Apple phones and their ecosystem has always sealed the deal for me. But I am SO BORED with the design. I feel like I’ve had the same phone for the last four years even though I update every year. I don’t want to pay 1000 dollars for basically a beta phone but I’m over the design of the iPhone8 and not particularly impressed with IOS11. So I’m switching to the s8+.
I have the S8 Plus and though its a great looking phone its severely laggy. Apps crash all the time. This was my first Samsung phone after switching from years with an iPhone. I thought I would be impressed... and for the most part I am, but they have a few bugs to work out of this phone. At this price point the phone should be working flawlessly.
Hi guys, I'm currently using my S8 and enjoying it fully. But I really would like to give ios a chance in my lifetime and switch to the Iphone8+. I enjoy making good photos, watching movies, listening to music, efficiency, and a decent battery. I wouldn't switch to the X because of its missing fingerprint and because of the higher price. Would you recommend me to switch oder should I stay with my S8? I don't really care of this whole customization, i just need a solid interface and system.

Im looking to upgrade my s6 in a month and i had the s4 before so wanted something different and was thinking of the iphone 8 even tho that s8 is a serious phone lol but the main thing is the price, i can get get and s8 with unlimited mins with 30gb for £36 or the iphone 8 with the same mins and data but for £50 it just doesn't seem worth paying more for it??

I think you should make the switch. I had the iPhone 5 and 6 the decided to try the Galaxy s6. Since then I was converted lol. I got bored of ios anyhow. I have the S8+ now and it's a beast, definitely a huge upgrade from your 5s. You'll love the S8 and won't regret it for sure. It's not as complicated as everyone makes it out to be. Does the same exact things and more lol. Just take the time to explore it the first week and you'll get it easily 👍🏼

Ive have a 6s+ then went to a note 5, then went back to iPhone, then wemt back to Samsung, then went back to iPhone, and right now i have the Samsung s8+, and im thinking of going back to iPhone and getting a 8+ or wait and save a bit more money, and get the xs max
Of course the iPhone will have faster gaming same as any pc etc lower resolution always runs faster much rather the high quality of Samsung then the outdated display on the iPhone .

U want a phone that basically looses value in a month the Samsung is for u. Value already dropping. If I’m paying for a phone over $800 I rather stick with a corvette vs a Toyota. Least I know I can sell the iPhone and not be at total loss. Samsung makes a good phone don’t get me wrong but it’s amazing the value of them short term plummets vs iPhone.

You are right about Samsung. I love bot of these phones and I’ve used both, but iPhone just seems more sophisticated and the software updates are much more organized. On android, you’re phone will be outdated soon software wise because you don’t know it you’ll ever get the new update. Besides, about the value for Samsung as you said, that’s very true.
