      As Jesus said: What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
      Luke knows the truth. Money, at the end, won't make excessively happy nor will give you peace. Money will just make you feel a bit of relief and you'll have moments of joy. But, as Andrew Tate said: Some day, you will look yourself at the mirror, and you'll feel like shit, even with all of the money and all of the women, because you need God. (I'm paraphrasing).
      You need to start question your own question.

    I'm sure this guy is worth a lot more than me but nothing he's saying really makes...any...sense here.
    "What's telling you they're not stockpiling (the gold) up and just controlling and manipulating the gold prices?"
    This statement makes no sense. If you stockpile something, it just means you value the thing more than the people you bought it from. That's not manipulation. The price of the thing is the price. And markets will reveal that. So I don't know what he means there.
    "Somebody's printing money, and then on the counter, you're working for it, and then you're getting taxed, because they need your taxes to run the government, when they could just print it! It makes no sense whatsoever."
    Restated if I were the one on the show: "Somebody's printing money to cover a portion of the current federal deficit. You're working for some of that printed money, but most of it was printed to cover previous deficits, not this year's. Anyway, then you're getting taxed, because the lion's share of the federal budget has to be paid in current dollars. There is no way they could just print all of the dollars to fund the entire budget because it would cause hyperinflation worse than Zimbabwe has. And so, thanks your tax dollars, we instead have an inflation rate of 3% instead of 3000%. It makes total sense whatsoever."

    • @andysauro1500
      @andysauro1500 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      On Gold, yes if it is stockpiled without being on the books then it is price manipulation, the total supply is hidden from you. It doesn't have to be just a centralized entity containing gold either. The market cap of gold is 13 trillion. Did you know in the summer of 2022 Uganda discoved deposits estimated worth 12 million gold? If Gold didn't have any intrinsic value, that would cut the perceived value in gold by half (by doubling supply, obviously more factors at play for realized value, but I think you get the idea).
      The point is your perception of it's value is dictated in large proportion from the conjecture of others. Bitcoin (the example Luke was using) has an immutable code that can be verified through the network, so supply and it's technology always stayed fixed.
      To the second point, to reword what he's saying and what you're saying, when a currency is debt-based, the collateral on the loans given out is work hours. When money printing happens to collateralize the loan, it devalues the real work hours put in.

    • @mlh5434
      @mlh5434 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@andysauro1500 The total "supply" of a commodity does not need to be known in order to reveal its price. If I drive to Kroger here shortly to buy a dozen eggs, I don't need to go through the mental exercise of saying to myself "hmmm, you know what, I don't think these eggs should be $3.99, because there are actually 3.45 billion eggs in existence right now, not 2.95 billion eggs, so I'm just not going to buy them because I personally think they should be $3.56". And even if I did go through this exercise and was somehow privy to the nation's egg supply and felt I was somehow smart enough to derive what I personally think their value should be, the checkout clerk and Kroger's response will simply be: "cool man, well you take care and have a nice day, but they're $3.99". This is because price is determined by one thing and one thing only: what people are willing and able to pay for something.
      "when a currency is debt-based, the collateral on the loans given out is work hours"
      Respectfully disagree with this "debt-based" premise. It sounds like MMT talk. If I do decide to provide the cashier the $3.99, he lets me leave with the carton of eggs, and we're totally good. There's no "debt" involved anywhere in this equation and everything is cool.

      The printing money thing isn't about thinking outside the box, it's a pure economic fact. It's been done in the past and the cost of inflation was dramatic.
