true, its also one of the lowest br tanks with good heat, only the pt76 is at a lower br (for obvious reasons)
I think it is also on the cuirassier of France and whatever the name is with Germany, DF105 as well.
@@idkk1086 you forgetting the Swedish TDs at a lower br with good Heat. Ikv at 4.3 and the other is 3.0? I think with 200mm heat pen (idk if it got nerfed)
Honestly, knowing how bad low-cal dart damage is with the AUBL HVG as a prime example, i think we lucked out getting the HEAT version

I know Chile stuck the 60mm in a Chaffee and I want that more than anything, it'll either be the best vehicle in game or the M41D part 2
@@Spookstonman the aubl 60mm was a demon after the event. Then they nerfed it so bad that now it does absolutley no damage even if you hit ammo. Also, something like 7.5 seconds to reload a 60mm :/ classic gaijin nerf here
@@DanySdowo Sadly the nerf hit most low calibers across the board. My Rooikat Mk.1D literally had a dart bounce off a centauro.
Same problem with the VCC-80/60 😢 (I think both have the same oto melara 60mm) you shoot at a leopard ammo through the side like 3-4 times and all you get is a slightly orange color and you are dead the 2 second reload doesn’t matter…

I find that M-51 players are a bit more competent, most of the time
As my first 6.0 br with 30 hours i found that aswell but after 30 games or so ive gotten better at hidding

I was in one of these games. And bumped into you a few times.
About getting bombed all the time, ppl actually recognise you and the threat that you are in the game.
I know you play with your chat off, but a lot of the time the chat reads either "Hi Spook!" or "Hi tank furry!" or more relevantly, "Kill Spook first or we lose".
I want Spook to turn chat on (with profanity filter on) now just to see how much that type of stuff shows up.

Yeeeah going to need to elaborate just HOW people knew it was Spook, since Spook has privacy mode turned on and randomizes his name in every match.

That Sherman also looks cool af imo, i love modified Shermans compared to default ones as much as i love high rank Elites compared to regular Blue ones.
It does make me mad that only the premium version of this tank has the .50 cal. Like I literally cannot find a single picture of one of these things without one, classic gaijin move.
Yeah… 7.62mm is almost useless except for the guys flying in a line at you. I suck with .50 cals but I still can occasionally hit stuff with them.

Good evening mr. Spookston, great video. I am once again asking you to play the Bri'ish Rooikat 105. No armor = best armor, good gun, and is overall the fastest vehicle of it's BR (on snow maps the 105 in the name is the average speed)

The M51. The woe of being able to pen anything you see without a second thought, but still being forced to actually aim carefully.
This thing has always been a paradox for me. I seem to bounce a lot more shells with both the M-51s than most other shermans
Sherman has some very nice angles, decent armor but the m-51 has a very thick turret which has been very useful. Again, not great but it’s a pleasant yet reasonable surprise to bounce things at longer distances.
It has very tricky turret the more center you go the more armor it gets and most people are used to m4s doing the opposite
Who do you think helps finance Gaijin?
the in tree chassis is cast and is pretty bad, probably people hitting your turret or getting gaijined, the premium one has a flat front RHA hull so you can actually angle it a bit. Still wont save you most of the time, its a sherman after all; but it can be a rare surprise.
Yeah that cast hull has a habit of bouncing things it has no right doing so with. I’ll take it though lol
Currently playing the M-51 with friends, seeing Tiger IIs get obliterated by 3 105mm cannons is honestly pretty funny
Considering how my team always evaporates around me, I believe that.
M-51s I face are still usually free kills since they're almost never in hull down positions.
If heat was more consistent this thing would be a monster

I think the t92 is one of if not the only tanks in the game to have a somewhat consistent heat round
considering its APDS is now basically unusable, its not exactly like you have a choice anymore.
I've noticed that as well. Though br helps it lots because it has just enough pen to pen basically everything it sees.
Leo 1 heatfs feels fairly good to me, even at 8.0 when I'm made out of paper mache.
His words at the end reminded me of a song which fits so perfectly, as he did get quite far and in the end it didn`t even matter.

Attempt 21 of trying to get spookston to play the AGS unless he has already then play the g̶e̶r̶m̶a̶n̶ ̶K̶V̶-̶1̶B̶ (yay), Soviet Matilda or the Type 75 MLRS.

The stat card lies about the mantlet, the mantlet is arguably the same as a jumbo mantlet. It consistently blocks shots from the Panther's 75mm and the long 88mm. One time it blocked a 128mm shell from 200m away.

Hey Spook, you should play the Semovente 75/46 M43. It's a deeply overshadowed italian tank destroyer which can deliver an heavy punch but it's deeply ignored the potential it has.

For fairness, a lot of things confuse German players
@@derrickstorm6976 and russian players. They both tend to lack any form of skill or ability to aim. (turns out when you dont have to aim and every vehicle you use it handheld and under-br'd you never learn any skills)

This tank definitely made me play more careful, no armor but a good gun required me to be wait in ambush positions. Big boomboom can kill heavy German and Soviet armor. It’s good that you finally reviewed this tank!

The one GREAT thing about the m51, if you know where the ammo is, you can always pen to hit it. As loooong as you get the first shot off :D.

This thing was very good when I played it. I took it out in AB, and the shells have just enough drop to be able to hit enemies that are behind hills but enough velocity to be useful at long ranges. The gun really does make the tank, and sadly it doeesn't have much depression, but I enjoyed playing it
It’s actually relatively decent at -8 (think Pattons are the same?), but definitely feels lacking for me when trying to be a rat on hillsides.

Im an Israel main and play the M51 religiously. Here's some main things to focus on with this tank. In regards to what spookston says.
The gun is amazing with a good reload, good accuracy, however it doesn't work as a sniper but more a second line support tank.
It's armor is a Sherman remember that, you're not going to bounce large caliber guns but you can angle with this and shrug off some rounds. Also I have bounced tiger 88 rounds but I never rely on my armor
Speed and maneuver sucks you're not fast
The heat is actually really good, at 400mm of pen from any distance. However it's post pen can be rather annoying. You do face up against mostly German tanks and when you do the best way to kill them in a single shot is either from the exact center front facing you or the fully side as most German tanks have the ammo on the side of the hull.
It's super fun once you learn how to play it.
On the topic of inconsistent volumetric, try playing the M41 Walker Bulldog with APDS or APCR
I had a match like a month ago and there were like 10 m51 users on the enemy team. I rarely see more than 2. So imagine 10 of them all eith 3 uses.
Absolute nightmare to fight. Absolutely amazing to watch

it's not slow, great gun and the turret is actually pretty difficult to pen
but most of all, you don't get german teams very often lol

Hey Spookston, if you want an interesting challenge, play the Merkava 3 (any of them) and use M339, the 120mm HE, it works surprisingly well against russian tanks if you just hit next to the gun.

if you are good at finding ranges manually then m36b2 is quite deadly from there as well. feels more fair and not like the leo there which feels like spawn camping but easier.
The super Sherman is WAY better in 7.7+. I do really well in it and sometimes uptier it on purpose because that HEAT round is great for coldwar tanks.

It needs a reload nerf ain't no way your loader is slamming home a 105mm round every 9 seconds on an ace crew in that turret especially with how the ammo is laid out.

This thing really shines when it uptiered to 7.3. It can go through anything on that BR also, plus it still somewhat survivable.

The best thing about this lil feller is its exterior. Everyone assumes you're a regular M4 with 76 so they don't pay attention to you or try to angle/wiggle before you send a HEAT right through the thickest part of their armour.

Honestly loved using this thing with the centurions and pattons
a couple videos back you frontally penned a king tiger on its turret and ammo racked it. I did the exact same thing but with a 75mm with my jumbo Sherman and was shocked
I used to love playing this thing back when I was actively playing, I'd hide behind some terrain and abuse the low shell velocity to lob the shells over the terrain while being untouchable (until CAS shows up). Not a very action packed playstyle because you're pretty much camping, but it was enjoyable to me.
When you said it is not great I was very suprized. I just love it. 3 respawns for 4000 sl is very good, the gun is very good and the mantlet is fairly thick.
