"They never saw it to actually be the leader they sought to be the power behind from." MY GOD IN HEAVEN. That is the most confusing sentence ever written.
The Bene Gesserit are in no way truly religious. Their ideology, if anything, is the continuation of their political and genetic agendas. The two greatest forces in the Sisterhood are adherence to the order's ways and pure amoral pragmatism, which commonly clash with each other and often lead to unintended consequences. The last two of Frank Herbert's books, Heretics and Chapterhouse, explore this in detail.
I feel this video does not make it clear how truth sense works - Bene Gesserit are trained in being able to observe and examine even the most minute details. This means that when concentrating this observation on people, they can learn a lot from just watching others under various situations, and be able to identify signs of lying. This is not an unrealistic thing even IRL, as being able to analyse people's behaviour is a thing that can be done in reality. Dune just takes a real ability to an extreme. The Prana Bindu trainign is why they can control things like body temperature, heart rate, breathing, and even fertility. Through the nerve control they can control their own hormonal outputs, and thus if they can control hormones, they can control fertility and also sex of the resulting babies. The whole of the genetic engineering plan is done - quite frankly - by sending Sisters to fuck men to get pregnant. As long as the resulting child has no major faults (Count Fenring is a minor character who is an example of that - not disposed of, but raised as a useful person in society, as he became a close friend of the Emperor, and his wife was the Sister who seduced Feyd Ruatha to save his genetic material) they will either be a respectably trained young noble, or be trained as a full Sister to further the plan. The Imperial Princesses are an example of the first (the Emperor's wife was instructed to only have females, so the Kwisatz Haderach could take over the imperial throne), or Lady Jessica, who was a Sister born by a Reverent Mother and raised in the Bene Gesserit, to be given as concubine to House Atreides, so she could breed her part in the plan (she was intructed to breed a girl who was intended to be matched with Feyd Ruatha, but Jessica fell in love and defied her orders to have a boy for Leto).

In Dreamer of Dune, Brian Herbert's 2003 biography of his father, the younger Herbert speculates that the name "Gesserit" is supposed to suggest to the reader the word "Jesuit" and thus evoke undertones of a religious order. (source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bene_Gesserit#Breeding_program)
Get used to it, there's a lot of randomly misspoken words. Sometimes it's surprising which words they mispronounce, and it's not like many of them have an accent (to indicate English as a 2nd language), but you can usually tell what they mean anyway :D
As soon as I heard the way they pronounce "reticent" I realized the narrator in this video can't read. LOOK UP WORDS YOU'VE NEVER SPOKEN BEFORE. Just the most basic preparation for video scripts.

funnily enough in that the Bene Gesserit were formed curing the Butlerian Jihad to counter the thinking machines, it seems like this was written by an AI. "Explain the Bene Gesserit to me as if I were writing it for a prep school thesis paper"
the Bene Gesserit should look like supermodels and not how these look in the films. They could and would look as the best of there DNA would allow them.
Read the books. There are reasons they look. Some are stunning, most are fairly nondescript. It depends on what role they were bred for. To seduce, leader or other type of worker.
I'm so sick of hearing AI-narrated videos. The writing of so many scripts is mediocre at best to begin with, but when then artificially voiced by AI, replete with the mispronounciations, relatively flat affect and akward (or absent) cadence, it becomes almost unbearbly bad. Is it really that expensive to have someone read the script? Because even a average-quality reading would be a big improvement over the creepily mechanical sounding renditions like this. BOOO.

Can I Join!!! Can I be a Bene Gesserit ally!!!!!
Be nice if you would slow down a bit lol I'm sure it's because you didn't want a long vid but speed reading out loud sounds kinda rough.
These lot are the real villains of the film 😂 I rate them though!
The pronunciation in this video is off.
What celibacy? Which religious beliefs? 😳
Dune is basically Warhammer 40K Lite, lol
Listening to his voice for 5 minutes straight made me strangle my cat!
They aren't psychic and they don't have a religion 😒
They do not have their own religion. They créateur religions, and their messiah.
Speaking of the Butlerisn Jihad, you should know that we freaking HATE these AI voice overs.
Listening to this was hard, buddy mispronounced just about everything.
Plans within plans.....
Apparently, the name translates as ( those you breed well ) .Latin..I think
Constantly repeating same thing
Honestly the name Bene Geserit sounds like an itchy 🐈
Bene Gesserit may be from the Arabic meaning tribe of Jeswits
Safe place.
re tice int?
Reticent: red a scent
Get used to it, there's a lot of randomly misspoken words. Sometimes it's surprising which words they mispronounce, and it's not like many of them have an accent (to indicate English as a 2nd language), but you can usually tell what they mean anyway :D
The Future is Female?
Only real biological women are members of their sisterhood. 👍🏾👍🏾
No transformers. This saga was definitely written in the good old days.
Often repetitive.
Ret 'ai' sent... what the AI messy mispronunciation of a word is that supposed to be... 'reticent' by any chance?
As soon as I heard the way they pronounce "reticent" I realized the narrator in this video can't read. LOOK UP WORDS YOU'VE NEVER SPOKEN BEFORE. Just the most basic preparation for video scripts.
RET-uh-cent
I call the duniverse the dune’t
I have read the three first books, and allI can say I hated these women.
Wait till you meet the Honored Matres
They are the reason why Leto Atreides survived his trial by forfeiture when he was 16 yrs old.
All factions of the Dune universe are intertwined to each other.
@@f3n1xplat3ad0 WTF are you talking about? Duke Leto never underwent a trial at age 16. Leto II never lived to be 16 as a human.
It's ADAPTATION, mr A.I., not adaption! It's not THERE ARE a plethora.....it is THERE IS a plethora. Just try saying 'It are a plethora, then say, it is a plethora' and you'll see which is correct! Collective nouns are too often incorrectly used.
The narration speed and cadence of this video are terrible.
“Amazing media, obi wan kenobi” instantly doubts information and opinions in this video. Sorry but obi wan kenobi suffers from all hallmark Disney Star Wars faults
👍
Not enough pauses when you talk...
Works part-time as an auctioneer or is an AI voice
funnily enough in that the Bene Gesserit were formed curing the Butlerian Jihad to counter the thinking machines, it seems like this was written by an AI. "Explain the Bene Gesserit to me as if I were writing it for a prep school thesis paper"
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
They are not psychic
Galactical 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
🤔🕵️📽️
The fake voice is really annoying
why do they have to be dressed like that?
Paul Atrides = Putin
narrator is a goofball
Why does this guy talk like ☝🤓
the Bene Gesserit originated in Frank Herberts imagination. Time saved = 30+ minutes
the Bene Gesserit should look like supermodels and not how these look in the films. They could and would look as the best of there DNA would allow them.
Read the books. There are reasons they look. Some are stunning, most are fairly nondescript. It depends on what role they were bred for. To seduce, leader or other type of worker.
Your voice over is terrible.
You speak wayyyyy too fast man !
Content great. The voice was very piercing and ai like. Bad for sleep
Lies
I'm so sick of hearing AI-narrated videos. The writing of so many scripts is mediocre at best to begin with, but when then artificially voiced by AI, replete with the mispronounciations, relatively flat affect and akward (or absent) cadence, it becomes almost unbearbly bad. Is it really that expensive to have someone read the script? Because even a average-quality reading would be a big improvement over the creepily mechanical sounding renditions like this. BOOO.
you keep repeating yourself
AI to voice a video about a universe where there was a jihad against AI. I couldn't even listen to a full minute. The irony was too much, and the voice too annoyingly "canned."
mental training for females hahahahaha
new tv series look woke.. couldn't have gotten prettier actresses?
