Now that you mention that crow and it’s chakra, I’d started thinking; what if Itachi was somehow powering that crow with his own chakra and that is what lead to his eventual chakra disease? It makes more sense than a crow with ridiculous chakra reserves and most of Itachi’s crowd seem to be his own constructs

About the crow's chakra, I think he was pulling out chakra from Naruto to keep the sharingan active

I heard a theory that shisui wasn't just going to hit fugaku but to do a mass hit on the Uchiha clan with kotoamatsukami, that way nobody could figure out the holes in their memories of the event of their memory wipe.

shisui can use multiple kotos as he was 14 and has used it more then 10 times but if it really had 10 year cooldown do the math he can use koto only 2 times sinces he 14 so idk why people wanna make believe probably coz shisui will 1 shot their fav character so they wanna downplay him
He should’ve stayed alive to reclaim his Sharingan from Danzo. With the 3rd Hokage & Itachi aiding him they wouldn’t lose. And Danzo’s tyranny may have been stopped earlier.
He was dying from the poison insects that allowed Danzo to take his eye so he gave his eye to Itachi and jumped in a waterfall so Itachi would witness his death gifting his best friend 3 Mangekyo sharingan with his death

Itachi paralyzing yoji aburame and watching as he burned to death is so cathartic. First off, hell yeah dude get that get back. And second, its kinda poetic because shisui’s death came from the poison yoji used, which paralyzed him and probably resulted in his final moments being incredibly painful. So to essentially do the same thing, paralyze the dude and watch as he died in an incredibly painful manner was definitely a sort of requiem for shisui, like itachi saying “you deserve the same fate you subjected my best friend to” and thats just amazing. Well done kishimoto, well done

Another similar theory I've heard is that Danzo at one point (after revealing Naruto had the 9 Tails and after getting Shisui's eye) had placed Naruto under Kotoamatsukami to make him want to love and protect and prove himself to Konoha despite any hatred the village had for him
That's a cheap theory. Danzo's Kotoamatsukami genjutsu is easily released and Naruto has experienced other genjutsu multiple times and he has been released from them, yet he remained the same person.
Naruto was angry and wanted to fight back against the Leaf. He wanted to stay all alone and cry about it because he was helpless, but then Iruka reached out and gave a crap about him. This is what first sparked the idea that Naruto wants to protect those he cared about. He confronted his hatered for the Leaf during the 4th Ninja War when Killer B trained him to be a perfect Jinchuriki.
Kurama could've undone the kotoamatsukami easily. Kurama hated the uchihas or humans in general for using him as a weapon to destroy anything. So i find it hard to believe that kurama would let a genjutsu control naruto. Kurama in the beginning was filled with hatred and anger so for naruto to stop bonding with kurama in shippuden kurama would've brokenn naruto from kotoamatsukami.

The theory I heard is he is infected by Ashura's chakra thus his overwhelming positivity like Hashirama and Ashura like no matter what happens Ashura will always be positive aka yang aka sun

probably a stupid point, but maybe since crows are animals they're more in tune with nature (or an actual part of it, actually), so all animals might be able to tap into senjutsu chakra relatively easily? If it can access senjutsu chakra permanently like Jugo, maybe that's how it was able to have an activated MS for over a decade.

I think the massive debunk to this theory is in the Sasuke vs Itachi fight. Sasuke looks at Itachi with his Sharingan for pretty much the duration of the entire fight and doesn't call to attention the fact that he might be under a genjutsu. Of course this could just be that this isn't meant to be a narrative point of the story. There is the theory of the two Kotoamatsukami, one being the stronger variant that you can't break out of.(A theory that I subscribe to, btw) But wouldn't people still be able to tell he's under a genjutsu?
Also, Pain has the rinnegan and can see chakra flow as well. I guess the argument for this is that Pain didn't know Itachi before be couldn't been supposedly put under this genjutsu so he wouldn't notice that Itachi's chakra flow was disrupted. This is honestly a very interesting thing to discuss.
but would this be an issue if it was shisui's more powerful eye? we don't really know the official rules surrounding kotoamatsukami, right? and if we were going off that presumption then it would be useless to use generally for the coup since all it would take would be another uchiha having their sharingan active alongside fugaku? it's really interesting
Didnt Sasuke never have the sharingan before Itachi whacked their clan, he might not have noticed due to never actually seeing his normal flow
But would he even know the difference in Itachi's Chakra if he's never seen it in any state? Wouldn't his first view of it be assumed to him to be it's natural state?
I think it's just a plot hole that the crow could keep a MS on for over a decade, or the crow is literally just made of chakra, like the tailed beasts or something but I don't know how likely that is.
I am now convinced that Itachi is actually a Crow Sage, that's why that thing had a lot of chakra.
Itachi not being under Koto Amatsukami except to free himself from Kabuto is supported at the end of that fight with Itachi saying Naruto was similar to Shisui & could therefore convince Sasuke the same way that Shisui convinced him to protect the village.

I like how Obito attacks Konoha with Kyubi, this causes the Uchiha mistrust with Konoha and then assisted Itachi in the Massacre but somehow Shisui did it. This is how certain characters get away with crimes

One thing I disagree with is the idea that if itachi hadn't massacred his clan war would have started. The uchiha were fishes in a barrel the hokage knew perfectly well what they were doing and would have been able to stop it before it started any moment he wanted if 13 year old itachi was able to do it a bunch of anbu would have been able as well. The issue for itachi is that letting konoha do it would mean that Sasuke would have died so he didn't do it because he was a pacifist but because he loved his brother. Meanwhile the issue for konoha and why they wanted to use itachi is because they needed a scapegoat

1. If Sasuke knew the abilities of the sharingan when he was little, could he have sacrificed an eye to rewrite the Uchiha massacre?

I'll try to answer
1. Maybe not because even if he had the mental capability/thinking to use Izanami in that way, a 9-year-old Sasuke wouldn't have near enough chakra to effectively use it. Izanami only lasted about a minute or less for Danzo, a full grown shinobi with not just decades of experience bit also an entire arm made of _hashirama cells_
So Izanami would last for probably less than a second for Sasuke as an innocent 9 yr old. So I don't think Sasuke could have done it.
2. I wouldn't want different teams but just more team work between different teams

I think we need to understand what made Danzo evil? Was it the thirst for Hokage-ship? Was it always being selected over? Because far worse have happened to other characters and not everyone turned out as bad as he did
Danzo isn't necessarily evil but he doesn't look at the world in rose tinted glasses like everyone else. He's essentially willing to be the bad guy so everyone else can have the luxury of a clear conscience

None of Danzo's actions were good for the village in the grand scheme of things, he violated international law at the 5 Kage Summit & his actions led to the destruction of the Leaf in regards to Pain. Danzo doesn't care about his homeland, he just wants excessive power & there have been people like him reviled throughout history in our world.
@@bookmew1081 They only villains that comes to mind are Pain and Kabuto. However, while sure, he had a hand in their suffering, he wasn't solely responsible for what they ended up becoming. That was Tobi and Orochimaru respectively. Pain may have came into being but he had no interest in Konoha until tobi came along and told him about the Infinite Tsukiyomi, which required all 9 of the Tail Beasts chakra to complete. And it just so happens that one of the jinchuuriki lives in the village he doesn't like, cause trust and believe, if Naruto was raised anywhere else, Pain would've gone there instead. Had it not been for Tobi, Pain would've just ruled Amegakure. He had no interest in forming the Akatsuki until Tobi came along.
Kabuto himself was pretty content with being a servant to Orochimaru once the latter manipulated him into becoming his devote student. He basically fell off because Orochimaru was gone and was pretty much lost on what to do without him around. So he went into an existential crisis that lead to him dabbling with the Edo Tensei, a forbidden jutsu that Orochimaru already knew and utilized a couple of times before.
The 5 Kage Summit, yea I can kinda understand that. But I can also see it like this. Danzo was the only one aware of "Madara" being around. That's why he didn't help against Pain, because he knew Pain was just a pawn in a much larger game. Sure, Konoha was screwed but if Pain or 'Madara' got their hands on Naruto, it was going to be over for the whole Ninja World. He figured that he to be the one to lead the Shinobi Alliance to properly combat "Madara" as Konoha still had the Nine-Tails, the strongest of the Tailed Beasts and Kotomatsukami and Izanagi, two powerful genjutsu abilities AND the Tetragram Seal. All of that was to combat "Madara" with. Cause tbf, no one at that Summit was trustworthy save Gaara, so Danzo opted to use Koto to swindle Mifune into his favor to secure the position. It still wasn't right butt with that context, I can see why he would go that far. I still wouldn't call him evil tho.
Danzo is not evil. He is not good aswell. Danzo is the result of hiruzen becoming too soft. The Hiruzen-danzo dynamic is responsible for a lot of events in Naruto that have far reaching consequences. One became too soft while the other became entirely too ruthless to compensate for that.
Lord hagoromo was placed under kotoamatsukami by shisui and it made him give the crow a steady stream of infinite chakra🤷

My first thougt about the most glaring piece of evidence that gives this theory some credence is that Shishui planned to place Fuguku under the Kotōatsukami in order since he was the leader of the Uchiha clan. His word would've carried weight and prevented the coup (for the time being).
Great video, I just finished reading the Itachi novels yesterday.
I just don't think that Shisui being poisonned and on the brink of death would be able to use Koto-amatsukami and certainly not the left eye version (if we consider that both eyes are able to use each a slightly different version of the genjutsu).
Unrelated question (and I hope I don't come off as an asshole for asking), I often hear you pronouncing things like Tomo for Tomoe and Edo Tensaï for Edo Tenseï, is it because of the english translation/prononciation in the anime (or maybe it's just an inside thing in the community, i've not been here for long) ?

if Kishimoto's goal was to make Itachi a tragic character, an actually realistic route he should have taken was to make shisui the villain.
Making shisui perform koto on itachi before yeeting off the cliff.
bascially using koto to make itachi commit the genocide so itachi wasnt actually partly responsible for the genocide like in the original story.
And later in the story Koto being undone and itachi having to face the reality of what he done without knowing what he was doing and the fact that the person who he looked up to the most was the one who made him do it. And him doing everything he can to make up for the hurt he caused sasuke even though sasuke would have no reason to believe him , that would have made itachi an actaul tragic character for real unlike the bullshit retcon of the original
Uhmm no. One of the core aspects of Itachi's character is that he is not bound to the clan. Village first and clan next is his view.
The wisdom that he had at that age to realise that the "ideal" of konaha must be protected at all cost even if it is against his own blood is what makes the character stand out. That fact that he decided to end the clan on his OWN FREE WILL and not because some super OP genjutsu is exactly what makes him tragic.
Itachi is a very layered character and to strip that all away and make him some bitch ass puppet that got tagged by some OP genjutsu ability is a bad writing choice.

Danza was absolutely right if the assessment that kotoamatsukami would never have worked on fugaku. I mean it would have worked probably but you think the clan wouldn't notice the 180 that all the sudden their leader has taken? And all it takes is a Byakugan and it's wasted for 10 years. But let's say that no one noticed he was under the kotoamatsukami, fugaku probably would have been ousted as the clan leader and then potentially someone more bloodthirsty more vitriolic towards the villages Behavior may have replaced him. It was a poorly thought-out plan on shisui's part. Danzo is still scum though.
I have only watched the intro and I want to put down my thoughts before I hear everything. My initial reaction is that it is definitely possible that Itachi was placed under Genjutusu before the massacre started. But the idea that none of the Uchiha, many of whom have Sharingan and specifically his DAD didn't notice that he was under it? I can't see that.
It's not genjutus it's love for humanity. That made Itachi do what he did.

Ney NCHammer, I know you have been hearing the theory that Boruto is going to go into the past to escape from Eida's all seeing eyes since she cannot see prior to her birth. Taking that theory into consideration, I think I know who will train Boruto during the time skip. Kaguya. Momoshiki will free her to be able to have a sacrifice, which will also prevent her death since it is said in the data books that she is dead. Kaguya will not take kindly to Momoshiki having a vessel and weaken him to the point that Boruto wakes up. He then will explain his circumstances to her, which will have her take him under her wing.

Shisui promised he'd never betray Itachi and saw him as his younger brother. They were both kids at the time and Shisui wasn't one sided when it came to making decisions.
He possibly did not cast a Genjutsu on him, although he could've been lying and manipulating Itachi who he saw as exceptional as a kid. Having faith in Itachi's exceptional skills and manipulating him to follow his ideals ain't far stretched. But they were both kids at the time and the coup d'etat wasn't an ideal back then - when they first met.
They were really similar in morality and how it built them through the pain of war around the same age. And Itachi was smart enough to realise things on his own, like the meaning of a clan or village. He wasn't tied by his clan. He was sensitive enough to understand that Shinobi are a result of an inconvenient reality where war was used to ease discord. That was before the coup d'etat was being discussed.
Shisui's last words to Itachi were... "You're the only I can count on my best friend. Protect the village and the Uchiha name." - Shisui to Itachi.
He said protect the Uchiha name - their reputation. He proly knew what the needed outcome was and left Itachi to resort to it because he knew he could understand. By his words it was pretty understandable what he meant, and there wouldn't be any other way to protect their reputation other than massacre them or change their ideology through kotoamatsukami. And the possibility of using kotoamatsukami with an eye that wasn't his was dire, it could be used once and as you said changing the leader wouldn't change the clan members and decades of hatred. The was only one solution that could've made him keep his promise and prevent a war. And time wasn't on his side.

Before watching the entire video: my first thought is whether koto herbagerba kame can persist following death. I'm leaning toward no, and therefore why should Itachi care so much about protecting Konoha after being reanimated?

One thing I tend to think back to is Itachis illness. I mean if it wasn't for him letting Sasuke merc him, he would have likely died anyways. What if....fugaku was just just the face, its very similar to itachi, most of the time they look like they don't care about anything, utill they are about to die, we know Uchiha are emotionally driven. So no emotion = mask, fugaku never seemed like the person who came up with the idea, in fact he looks kinds sad like itachi most would say he looks indifferent but even before the reveal I always thought they were more sad, the lines on his face always make me feel like an eternal sanldness is following itach...and fugaku...looked the same...what if it was Mikoto...

These ninjas are from the hidden blood village in the hidden bone village. Guys the map of Naruto's a lot greater than just the five Great Nations. Also have that video up on my channel and I'm continuing the story it's pretty fun to work on. Hopefully getting the community to help me build on the storyline. I can debunk this theory instantly and concisely. If Itatchi was brainwashed to protect the Leaf at all cost then he would have killed Saskue in their duel. He put his brother before protecting the Leaf.

Not sure if it’s been done but here’s a what if “During the Uchiha massacre Itachi awakens the EMS.” Now if he’d have to kill Sasuke to do that or simply killing his parents should have idk but it would change things down the line. Obviously he’d still get sick but wouldn’t have to use his ms sparingly or lose his vision.

I have a what if idea if you mind hearing it out. What if Itachi took all of the eyes of the Uchihas that he himself killed as we know he had help from Obito who also collected a bunch of eyes. This could've been a way for him to unlock EMS and also just like how had Shisui's eye in a crow he could also put the other ones in his crows as well which in my opinion could make him a stronger adversary further helping him in his goal as you stated. Now I would believe he would still have his illness but with EMS I think it would've been slower than without

Itachi saw how shisui was fighting to stop the coup d'etat and then Danzō took his eye, which caused him to go stabby-stabby
I have a theory about the MS. What if the ability is based on not only how they grieve over the death but also how the person died. Both Itachi and Sasuke essentially watched their best friend die in front of them and couldn’t do anything to stop it, thus causing the same grief inside them but with Sasuke being destroying the village and Itachi being protect the village. So they both get Amaterasu which can save the village Itachi can use it to kill anyone he sees as a threat to the village down to nothing, Sasuke can use it to destroy the village down to nothing. Then Itachi gets Tsukuyomi to protect his brother he can use it to essentially kill or put you in a coma in a second something to use on Donzo. Sasuke gets flame control to help him better use his fire to destroy the village. Shisui lost a friend because he ran away in battle and got the Kotoamatsukami which he could use to alter someone’s mind to stop a fight or maybe even alter his own mind to not run from a fight anymore then the more powerful version to use on someone more powerful then himself like the ninja he ran from, as for his relative who they say had similar abilities he too could’ve ran away during the war or a battle and lost his friend feeling the same grief and type of loss Shisui did.
