Obito was using eye drops in his early life too is that cause his jutsu is apart of the Gods aswell? I figure he doesn’t need them anymore only having one sharingan that’s his own and having hashirama cells
hey NCHammer if the Tsukiyomi was what was killing Itachi do you think that the dead bone pulse was killing kimimaro either as the cost of generating/regenerating new bone or because his dead bone pulse was trying to awaken kaguya's all killing ash bones and his body couldn't handle the strain.
This is an AMAZING theory!!!!!! I never thought of it like that... (Going into a different Fandom) Look what happened to Voldemort in Harry potter, each time he split himself off... more and more of his Humanity was stripped away, this makes ENTIRE sense!!!
I think most inconsistencies in Naruto exist cuz kishi didn't really have the entire story planned out from the beginning. He was also forced to produce a fully new chapter every week for a decade so I think he probably couldn't keep up with it all, whilst remembering it all. So many parts were written without other parts taken into consideration at that time.
@vitlaska it reinforced the anger, drive, and focus for sasuke to get stronger. It's the ninja world equivalent to tough love, but done wrong. And itachi, himself, even admitted he was wrong. He knows he messed up. Itachi was so focused on securing the path he had to make sasuke strong that he blinded himself, ironically, to the flaws in his own thinking.
I really like this theory as well. And it's comforting to realize maybe Itachi _did_ get to have some semblance of a happiness after all... (could even be what helped him soldier on later and push through the subsequent hard years).
Honestly this just makes the story of Itachi that much more tragic and deep. He lived his life how he wanted for a brief second knowing he wouldnt be able to go back to that especially after the actions he was about to take. Makes you wonder if he remembered any of those 65 years or if the memories vanish with the illusion.
We hear all the time “this power is so great but it shortens your lifespan” thrown around so much without seeing the consequences such as tsunade. I really like the idea that itachi and hashirama are potentially examples of these consequences actually happening.
This theory not only makes me like itachi more but actually makes me understand him and okay with his decisions. It wouldn't be that hard to do the awful things he did if he already got his whole life.
When u said the moon then eclipsed the sun…. I got chills. This was a great video and who doesn’t love Itachi!?! I already understood him and his choices and how much he actually sacrificed, but this theory just makes it impossible not to love him.
I'm confident that Kishimoto knowing the anime Community as they are would fill in the gaps for him in a lot of his plot holes and it would be fun for the fans to create their own theories and well-thought-out reasoning for why this is that or that is this. I actually really trust that he depended on this.
This has to be your best theory yet. Feels like Kishimoto was putting us under a genjutsu and making us think it was a chakra illness in the lungs.... yet it was Tsukuyomi in his eyes! Makes perfect sense!
I don't think itachi's illness has anything to do with the lungs or hemoptysis. If you remember: when sasuke faced the mizukage at the 5 kage conference, he described the feeling when using susano (even though it wasn't even half complete) that every cell in his body ached. If itachi was coughing up blood while taking susano, it could be because itachi's internal organs were destroyed leading to internal bleeding and too much blood coming out at the same time could cause his trachea to become blocked. congestion makes him cough
Yeah no this theory doesn’t make much sense when you think about it. Casting a genjutsu is like casting a spell on someone. The amount of chakra expended depends on the size of the genjutsu. It is a single use and the victim experiences whatever genjutsu the user casts on them. The user does not also experience the genjustsu since they are casting it on the VICTIM. This means that Itachi did not experience 65 years in his own tsukuyomi, his girlfriend did since the genjutsu was cast on HER not Itachi. The best example of this is the infinite tsukuyomi. While Naruto, Sasuke, etc. are in their friends’s dreams, it is not actually them, just a representation of them. This is the same case with Itachi’s tsukuyomi.
@@thatonezeldaguy250 not really. He has the highest potential, a total prodigy. Had he implanted his father's mangekyou to achieve EMS, or not ravaged by nonsensical illness (because kishimoto couldn't think of any other way as he was too broke), had he not been a pacifist , he could have become something unreal. also he's that much popular not because of his powers, but because of his personality, calmness, cold lines, and sacrifices.
You could also consider the fact that tsukuyomi being related to infinite tsukuyomi, which is related to the god tree, in which its entire purpose is to absorb chakra and life-force. It would make sense that this jutsu would have similar effects.
If you remembered how the infinite tsukuyomi worked, you would remember that the person casting the genjutsu is not also inside said genjutsu. Madara did not experience the effects of the jutsu he casted on everyone. So how could Itachi have experienced 65 years on a genjutsu he casted on someone else? I know I can’t be the only one that sees this huge hole in this theory
Man I've been rewatching Naruto for the first time in years and I can't lie I forgot how cracked Neji was. Dude was willing to kill as easily and as painfully as Gara, a kid who was being tortured to the point to where he could bearly slept and fear his father was gonna try and have him killed again. Insane how people liked him enough to keep him alive
Right?! Also the retrieval ark hits so much harder when you remember he was supposed to die there. Which would have been amazing. Imagine if a quarter of the kanoha 13 died? It would have made the ending mean so much more.
@craigford33 dude after the Lee v Gara fight I can see how and where he would killed Lee he'd be the one to standing on his feet and it would reminded Gara of their fight where he Instictually stood up even though he was unconscious and it would given him to the will to fight until ot kicked in and kibimaru died.
They liked him *because* of that. It showed that even at a young age these were supposed to be capable soldiers that could push their sentimentality to the side to successfully complete a mission
@MrManny0099 he was literally going to kill hinata because he said "I can tell you're angry because you're also scared of the fate of the family" and he said you right but fuck you for saying g I have feelings ima kill you now. He had contempt in his heart and eyes to the point 4 jonini (I can't spell it lol) had to stop him, to me that response was so out of pocket in general that he shoulda got a few more haymakers from hell😂
Out of all the shonen that I’ve ever watched Loki Naruto shinobi world is metal as fuck they treat kids like dirt no other shown in compares in my opinion even hunter X hunter has a safety net
Along with the medicated eye drops from the Howling Wolf Village, Itachi could have used another herbal remedy to help with the macular degeneration (eye blurring eventually leading to potential blindness) that comes with the Sharingan. Remember in episode 306 when Hinata temporarily went blind from overuse of her Byakugan when training with Neji? The physician told Neji about Megusurisō (literally translated as "Eye Medicine Plant") that was great for eye strain for ninja with ocular dojutsu. Asthenopia, or eye fatigue, is straining of the ciliary muscles which control the movements of the lens and pupil. They play a big role in vision adjustment for short field and long field vision such as the telescopic, x-ray vision of the Byakugan. The Eye Medicine plant could have been used in a combination therapy with the other eye drops that extended his life. The eyedrops from the Howling Wolf would have extended his life and the treatment with the eye medicine plant could have reduced the strain from the Mangekyo Sharigan. I believe Kishimoto based Megusurisō off of a genus of plants called Eupharasia. These plants are referred to as "Eyebright" (this term was even used in the dubbed version of episode 306) because of their medicinal usage to treat eye infections. I'm a nurse so this video really got me thinking about potential treatments. Apologies for such a long reply. Love your content, thank you so much.
I believe in the novel, it even says that after staying in tsukyomi for 65 years, it not only made izumi die in her mind, and so her body followed, but it also said it had a heavy toll on itachi as well. His mind was now that of an 80 year old. His chakra depleted along with it. His lifeforce matching the reality he placed on himself. I always thought his eyes were costing him and his true burden. Amateratsu was a technique that attacked and outwardly destroyed real things and cost his eye... making it bleed and cause him physical pain. Tsukyomi bent reality within the mind and controlled the non-physical, which cost lifeforce/spirit and chakra . Thus, when he used both eyes, one destroyed him physically, while the other siphoned from his spirit for it's power. Remember it took an entire god tree and ALL of earth's chakra to hold infinite tsukyomi.
My theory is that itachi has both autoimmune disease & that tsukiyomi that strained his spirit, the result is that the disease that would have affected him after 60-70 hit him at 16 and well he could have been treated and recover the required skill would be Tsunade or peek of understanding orochimaru. Either issue was manageable and treatable separately but in would kill him by circumstances of a perfect storm
@xaivierallen4020 I could see this being true. Something he had genetically that would have even been a problem til old age was basically accelerated by tsukyomi. I can get behind that.
the part at the end where u said he spend a long time in his dream world for just giving up time in the miserable true world, reminded me of madara because that was literaly his plan tha through the infinte tsukuyomi everybody could live in the world of their dreams not even to deal with the hard and harsh reality
The more you think about tsukuyomi the more you realize that it made no sense that the draw back was just chakra when you can literally shape someone’s whole world
A while ago me and my friends had a convo about that encounter Jiraya had with Itachi and Kisame, and Itachi says something along the lines of "If we fight him, we both die" to Kisame, back then I assumed he meant himself and Jiraya because they are both formidable, but My friends took that as in Jiraya being so OP he would be done with both Itachi and Kisame before dinner. My argument back then was, Jiraya is OP and was sold to us, as the audience, as a War Veteran so Capable he was respected worldwise, BUT Itachi was sold as the badest mofo of all bad mofos and it didn't make sense to me that Jiraya would be so much stronger then him that he AND Kisame would not stand a chance. All that to say, with this theory it makes perfect sense to me that back then Itachi knew he would use to much Chakra against Jiraya that even if he killed him, he would die too.
Had a pretty rough day, was aiming to distract myself with random videos on my feed but your energy you convey while getting into your passion for anime felt almost contagious and so I'm back to binging shows for my love of the shows and not just putting on weak level distractions for almost no real benefit. You tha best Nick
I really enjoyed this theory! I like to think that bc he allowed himself to “die” in his created reality, that was the reason for his impending death once back to the real world. Again, another example of taking on the burdens & going through the ringer for the people he loves.
I always thought Itachi's illness was genetic because there's a lot of evidence of clan inbreeding in Naruto (Itachi had a crush on his cousin, Sasuke's mom is an Uchiha, Hinata's mom has the Byakugan, in Boruto its treated as this major thing that so many of the clans with Hidden Jutsu are marrying each other, etc.) This makes a lot more since.
I always wondered if for Itachi, there were warning signs in his childhood that he did or did not notice until it became pronounced. Like ninja Huntington’s or ALS. The fact he just had a weak pool of chakra to begin with even as a fairly healthy young child/early teenager to me can possibly make that case. Sasuke just got lucky he didn’t inherit it(aside from the obvious he’s a reincarnation so he’s going to have a massive life-force on top of being a busted af Uchiha). Honestly the idea of a lot of the major clans being inbred is likely true, and hopefully Fugaku and Mikoto were enough cousins removed to not cause serious problems. 3 degrees removed or more is fine but if they were 1st or 2nd cousins, there might be some issues.
kotoamatsukami does not have a heavy cost. its stated that the crow would need 10 years to recharge, but its implied that danzo and shisui could recharge much faster. probably shisui could use it once a day and danzo once a month.
This theory makes even more sense when u think about the fact that Infinite Tsukiomi requires a Rinnegan, a ten tails, and the chakra of a shit ton of people. The amount of chakra Infinite Tsukiomi requires makes the idea that Itachi’s Tsukiomi (which is the same concept) being deadly to the user make a lot of sense. Itachi pretty much has the ability to enact “madaras” plan on an individual basis.
You’re not connecting all the dots here because you missed one important detail. The user casting the genjutsu does not also experience said genjutsu that they casted on someone else. Otherwise Madara would be in his own genjutsu, same with Itachi. The jutsu probably did take a toll on his chakra, but it didn’t cause his mind to at 65 years or anything like that since he couldn’t have experienced a jutsu he casted on someone else
I wish so bad that we could get an itachi special with Izumi and Itachi living their life in that tsukiyomi genjutsu then at the end of the special they zoom into his eye and he's crying tears from one and blood from the other then it ends.
This video is a prime example of why you are the best Anime youtuber. You break things down so easily and make them understandable. And you have a way with making things sound like they are dumb in the beginning of the video, then by the end of it, having me question why I never thought of it.
I've always had this thought from the first time it was introduced. You explained it way better than I did with my friends lol. I gotta show them this so they can understand exactly how I meant to explain it.
This does explain why Infinite Tsukuyomi is so powerful. You let the people's own subconscious create the world they want to live in, not needing direct input from the caster, which would not impact their lifespan. (Not that that matters to Madara)
Yup. "Everything comes with a cost; the extent of that cost varies depending on the situational priority." Sometimes, on rare occasions, "the cost" is secretly a well thought out may to verify the level of importance/dedication one is willing to invest into an objective/or wish. But the eventual, ultimate cost doesn't have to be 'physical'/taxing to a detrimental extent. ________ Point is (simplified): "the cost" can occasionally become a 'metaphor'; a well thought out [to get a 'true' answer on the reality of an individual's ID] method to verify the extent of ones dedication or willing, 'conscious investment' to a cause.
It's a bit like the flash in some comics, everytime he taps into the speed force he age according to the time he feels in it rather than real time, he got old fast
I mean, with amaterasu already making Itachi's eye bleed, I think there were hints from the very beginning that the Magekyo harms the user. I imagine the strain of Tsukiomi would be immense and figured that using both was what was killing Itachi. I didn't realize this was such a rare theory. I always thought everyone else started with this and then went to other theories cause this one was disproven already. Guess not, lol
i love that this theory makes so much sense, it explains why itachi has low chakra, why he seems so content with his decision, why he always looks so tired, why he needed eye drops, why his jutsus are sun and moon, and why his disease was as bad as it was. great video as always😂😂😂
I've always interpreted the cooldown of Kotoamatsukami to apply specifically if the sharingan is transplanted so someone other than Shisui is using it. As far as I'm aware the cooldown is only mentioned by Itachi in the context of his crow, with a comment about Hashirama cells referencing Danzo's use of the other transplanted sharingan. Unless there's a reference I'm missing there doesn't seem to be a reason to assume the original user of the Kotoamatsumaki has the same limitation.
I love all your videos but this one was goated for me. Itachi is my favorite character and his illness never made sense to me aside from giving Sasuke a way to win. This explanation and theory is amazing especially comparing the sun to the real world and the moon to tsukoyomi
Dude the way u throw out theories is insane as hell. I think u can make me believe the sun dont exist even if I'm looking at it. U the best anime guy I've seen, u give great content.
I always had the belief that a human brain can only absorb and process so much information in a lifetime similar to how any organ in the human body has a finite number of functional cycles. The number can vary from person to person and can be affected by life experiences but the bottom line is that there is a defined number. So, I can wholeheartedly accept the theory that Tsukuyomi shortens the user’s lifespan because you’re essentially over-clocking the computer that is your brain to process information at an exponentially faster rate in order to achieve the time-dilation effect. Once you’re done, you’re that much closer to your brain burning itself out and the rest of your body then follows.
The first victim wasn't Izumi, it was Tekka the sensory type Uchiha stated to be the best at genjutsu while only have a 3 tomoe sharingan, Itachi had to use his MS to beat him. In the novel that came after Sasuke vs Itachi they stated that Itachi got a stronger medicine to fight Sasuke and the medicine messed him up even more. Also, the MS usage specially with Susanoo and Amaterasu has a body strain and Itachi spammed amaterasu, so adds up. This theory makes way to much sense for it to be true, Naruto was written with the feet lol.
That actually makes chakra sickness make more sense. Akin to how un a living yourself is an umbrella term for the end result not a description of how it occurred. Death from Chakra sickness is the term given to any who fall "ill" as a result of overusing heavily taxing abilities. The exact details of how that takes you out might differ from user to user but it makes moments like kimimaru immediately kicking the bucket after exerting himself to the max having already been heavily plagued with his own version of chakra sickness make more sense.
The theory gains even more momentum when you correlate Itachi’s pessimism and discontent with the world, having possibly lived an entire life of goals, dreams and accomplishments, only to be left with reflecting on them like distant memories of a world that never was. I thought this theory from day one about he ability shortening his life, I figured it was most people’s conclusion.

Definitely the best theory and kinda nice to remember that itachi got to live a happy life the way he wanted and probably dreamed about the good times him and his girlfriend would have shared together before he had to come back to the reality that was hell for him

@@ggjb1892 Going off that logic, then no one should even be able to make any theories since anything that happens in a cartoon doesn't have to make any sense apparently
Gotta hand it to you, the shoe fits. Im switching teams, i dig this. I wish Kishimoto would watch this one and be like "yeah, that's the official answer"
This theory is absolutely beautiful.... I'm currently working on getting a tattoo drawn up That is a yin yang background with a gold mine down the middle itachi Sasuke Naruto...
On that same note, what's the possibility this man used, if not when he was with his lover, but just *on himself* that his battle iq was so high because he was able to practice for insane lengths of time in a matter of seconds? He could've entirely practiced in tsukiomi with the genjutsu he put Izumi under, when she was sleeping, when she was out doing her own thing, although he would almost certainly spend every minute with her. Who's to say he wasn't using this on himself, with his partner to watch over his body, to put in unfathomable hours, days, or even years of practice to hone his abilities and battle strategy. Imagine if shikamaru was able to hit pause during every battle and plan for all the possible outcomes a la doctor strange, and he lost almost no battles he faced when given a more human amount of time to assess the situation? Itachi, with an equally unreal level of battle IQ at a child's age, could have been so capable so quickly because of this ability, not that he wasn't already broken from the start as far as battle knowledge goes.
Really like this theory, it makes a lot of sense. It feels like the missing piece to Itachi's character arc. That they died of 'old age' at 80 adds weight to the theory too I think. It seems a little young to die of old age for powerful shinobi, but 80 years may have been the maximum amount of time he could grant while still having enough life span to complete his other goals (kill the clan, monitor the Akatski and battle Sasuke when he was old enough)
With Itacho being my favorite character in all of fiction, I love this theory and I'm sold. This is Canon as far as I'm concerned. So fitting for Itachi. Just a great theory. Just love it.
It is "broken" but realistic in the series. Think of it as "virtual reality" (Tsukuyomi): he created, designed, "handcrafted" the "virtual stories" and events for"Izumi" (did I spell it correctly?)... He also got the experiences as he created (and likely planned the details) them before meeting Izumi for the last time. The jutsu he cast can hasten or slow down ones perception of time (keep that in mind as it is very important). In the justu realm, it would be possible to create the equivalent of a "shadow clone" as every "gen-jutsu" (especially in combination with someone else's genjustu, as with Sasuke + Itachi saved each other against Kabuto). He likely transferred some chakra/life force to Izumis mind, the life force + Tsukuyomi (VR/'simulationed-experience') would've acted as 'fuel' to run to love times worth of simulated experiences and events. This is getting too much to express. But the mechanics are already there. 👍✨
Honestly i think this theory actually makes Itachi's story actually make sense not just some plot hole nerf. Like it makes sense that a genjutsu as powers as Tsukuyomi would have those heavy consequences.
hey man. just wanted to say that i've been binge watching your videos for the past week and I love your content, especially the what ifs, but I want to give you some criticism/advice. i noticed that you mispronounce some of the japanese words and/or names in your videos very frequently (pronouncing Suigetsu as "Suegitsu" and Kotoamatsukami as "KotoamatsukamE"), and considering how much of reading and talking about japanese words and concepts is a big part of what you do, I think you could work on nailing some of these better. not saying you need to get them native level or anything, just working a bit on pronouncing them correctly would go a long way to make your videos seem more credible. not a dealbreaker for me, but I'd love to see that improved. again, love your videos, keep up the good work, Nick!
He suffered a broken heart and lived to protect his brother. He felt every string in his heart snap when he had to make hard choices for those he cared for
The only part of your theory that I have an issue with is the idea that tsukiyomi is a pocket dimension and that Itachi is actually there. Tsukiyomi is essentially Itachi crafting and implanting dreams into his target's mind. these dreams are so strong that they can manipulate the target's perception of time and can manipulate the nervous system so that the target's body feels the pain inflicted in the dream. As far as Itachi's presence in tsukiyomi, I think it's just astral projection instead of him actually being there.
I agree that he's not there but controlling very long amounts of time and creating loads of scenes would take a huge amount of chakra away. It's like when nagato returned the souls to the residents, he lost an insane amount of chakra causing him to die instantly.
Man kudos to the guy who came up with this theory, it's iron tight.. As I was watching, I was trying to poke holes into it but then you would cover it almost in the next breath.. So that also shows not only your knowledge of Naruto, which we all know you have, but it shows you are either pretty smart or at least have great application skill.. Great video because if it were to ever be proven canonically that the consequences of tapping into this superior alien power would cost you a piece of your life force, I'd probably switch from being team Sasuke to being a straight up Itachi fan.. There's a lot of poetry written in his story already but this would make it all kind of really make sense.. It would make his life story this huge beautiful sacrifice that wasn't as accidental as it came off in the story because it would also mean he was aware of what he was doing with his girl.. It would make his torturing of Kakashi a sacrificial training/life lesson point that he gave a piece of his life to show him the power of MS, knowing Kakashi would immediately begin to train his eye in order to compete, which he did and it would domino effect down to Sasuke.. It would also imply that he and Obito had a very interesting relationship that would turn this paragraph into an essay so I'll just let you guys dwell on that part of it if you've made it this far..
Maybe he died of lung disease in his GF illusion and just the way Ororchimaru permanently lost usage of his arms after Iruzen yoinked that bit of his soul, the same happened to Itachi: he lost the lungs in there, thus forfeited them in real life, unless. Releasing the Genjustu would mean taking the burden, so he had to take eyedrops to keep casting. But then again, if it makes sense, it's unlikely that Kishimoto wrote it that way,
Another Otsosuki ability that requires a sacrifice from an human user: Shikotsumyaku What if Kimimaro's disease is simply the toll a literal god level jutsu takes on the person, just like Tsukuyomi? Him and Itachi were the only ones with chakra disease after all...
And Itachi was given nothing. That was a great line, and one that to me seems to reflect one of many themes of Naruto, particularly, how people face off the adversity, hardship and tragedy.
No wonder itachi kept talking about someone's reality being another's illusion. Guy's living in different realities. It could also explain why he's so wise. He's an old man in a young man's body

Itachi is so popular that he has his own book series and 8 episodes.
And he’s overrated asf
A lot of characters in Naruto have light novels
Don't forget the thousands of delusional fanboys

Itachi: the quickest way to get the community's attention.
This really does shed a new light on Itachi’s life and his illness and death.
The more you think about tsukuyomi the more you realize that it made no sense that the draw back was just chakra when you can literally shape someone’s whole world
How you make this shit poetic deserves more recognition and appreciation! Love ya videos and theories
This video was particularly wholesome, Nick. Especially towards the end. Everything was spot-on, and 'literally' perfectly understood! ❤ 11/10! 👏👏
That's a very solid theory it makes a lot of sense. I just wish kishimoto elaborated on what actually killed Itachi.
This is a great theory! This is my favorite one that you have done in a long time. Great job piecing this together. I 100% believe this now
Had a pretty rough day, was aiming to distract myself with random videos on my feed but your energy you convey while getting into your passion for anime felt almost contagious and so I'm back to binging shows for my love of the shows and not just putting on weak level distractions for almost no real benefit. This just GOATed Itachi even more. Love the theory and it makes so much sense
I really enjoyed this theory! I like to think that bc he allowed himself to “die” in his created reality, that was the reason for his impending death once back to the real world. Again, another example of taking on the burdens & going through the ringer for the people he loves.
I always thought Itachi's illness was genetic because there's a lot of evidence of clan inbreeding in Naruto (Itachi had a crush on his cousin, Sasuke's mom is an Uchiha, Hinata's mom has the Byakugan, in Boruto its treated as this major thing that so many of the clans with Hidden Jutsu are marrying each other, etc.)
This makes a lot more since.

I really like this theory, love how after hearing all this new info & theory gives me a new way to rewatch al of Naruto from the beginning
The end of this make me choak up a bit ngl almost cried
Itachi so strong only his own actions can kill him. This is hands down the best damn Naruto theory ever, and might be your best video.
This does explain why Infinite Tsukuyomi is so powerful. You let the people's own subconscious create the world they want to live in, not needing direct input from the caster, which would not impact their lifespan. (Not that that matters to Madara)
Madara saying wake up to reality hits different now
I kind of always assumed that itachis and sickness was specifically based on HIS abilities. It just made sense considering how powerful they were
________
Point is (simplified): "the cost" can occasionally become a 'metaphor'; a well thought out [to get a 'true' answer on the reality of an individual's ID] method to verify the extent of ones dedication or willing, 'conscious investment' to a cause.
@Cross_00 bro that was the most complicated way you could have possibly made your point 😭😂😭😂
Itachi is my favourite character, I feel sorry for him😢❤
It's a bit like the flash in some comics, everytime he taps into the speed force he age according to the time he feels in it rather than real time, he got old fast
Makes a lot of sense especially if you consider that the real Infinite Tsukuyomi makes people live in their dream world
i love that this theory makes so much sense, it explains why itachi has low chakra, why he seems so content with his decision, why he always looks so tired, why he needed eye drops, why his jutsus are sun and moon, and why his disease was as bad as it was. great video as always😂😂😂
Yeah no this theory doesn’t make much sense when you think about it. Casting a genjutsu is like casting a spell on someone. The amount of chakra expended depends on the size of the genjutsu. by far my favorite itachi sickness theory THANKS NICK
Nick I just want you to know how much I appreciate your content. I listen to your videos everyday while driving to and from work
I've always interpreted the cooldown of Kotoamatsukami to apply specifically if the sharingan is transplanted so someone other than Shisui is using it.
An Itachi video my(our) favorite
I’ve been waiting for someone to make a video on this👌🏼 I had this thought for a hot second

This makes more sense then a random illness we knew nothing about til the fight where he dies…I truly hate that reveal with a burning passion.
Nick man... Ah shit. This video literally made me shed a tear.
Damn you are making itachy even cooler. I didn’t even know it was possible.
There's NO WAY Itachi got the expeience from his Tsukuyomi illusions, that'd be broken as fuck
Damn man. This theory actually made me cry and I love it. It is now a part of my head cannon and I accept it as fact. 😢
the 65 years in genjutsu thing makes his wisdom make sence

This is well put together. I'm digging 😎 the theory!
He suffered a broken heart and lived to protect his brother. He felt every string in his heart snap when he had to make hard choices for those he cared for
The lack of screen time is criminal
Very much agree. Best theory I have heard in a while on itachi. Also my new favorite theory. Such a bitter sweet end
But then again if he wasn't there why not just shank the victim with a shuriken while they are trapped?
I agree that he's not there but controlling very long amounts of time and creating loads of scenes would take a huge amount of chakra away. It's like when nagato returned the souls to the residents, he lost an insane amount of chakra causing him to die instantly.
@@NamNguyen-wh1bj he's there. Maybe not physically but in every other sense. I'm sure he can't move in real time while casting
Banger of a video nick always love ur content but this one felt on an entirely higher tier, can’t believe this theory never crossed my mind

This theory is awesome, I’m totally down with it.
Makes me wonder what your take on Kimimaro’s chakra disease really was then?
Love your content man.
Dude this is why I love Itachi. Cause he sacrificed everything for the ones he loved
But then again, if it makes sense, it's unlikely that Kishimoto wrote it that way,
day 3 of asking you to explain his crow you were gonna talk about that and how he can use kotoamatsuami and probably spam it.
Another Otsosuki ability that requires a sacrifice from an human user: Shikotsumyaku
What if Kimimaro's disease is simply the toll a literal god level jutsu takes on the person, just like Tsukuyomi? Him and Itachi were the only ones with chakra disease after all...
And Itachi was given nothing.
That was a great line, and one that to me seems to reflect one of many themes of Naruto, particularly, how people face off the adversity, hardship and tragedy.
I love this theory. He earned his happy life story, then did everything he could to save his brother by living in hell. Then entered the pure lands.

No wonder itachi kept talking about someone's reality being another's illusion. Guy's living in different realities. It could also explain why he's so wise. He's an old man in a young man's body
I think the most tragic part is that Itachi went unchecked. He was doomed to his own echo chamber.
