I'm sticking with Kontakt 6. The only time I would consider upgrading is if and when
Kontakt 6 becomes obsolete but I have only had it a couple of years.
Yeah, if you are not struggling to find your libraries and you don't want or need new sounds than stick with Kontakt 6!
Until you get the dreaded "Your version of Kontakt is too old to load this file."
Unfortunately, Native Access instrument updates may force you to update to Kontakt 7. I posted the steps that I used above.

i think the under the hood audio improvements are referring to the tempo based sample manipulation improvements. im sure theres more but thats one example

Seems like NI is forcing the upgrade issue. Just started seeing, "Your version of Kontakt is too old to load this file." after installing plugin updates.
Could be you accidentally opened your old Kontakt, happens to me all the time (mac)

Hey guys! HOW DO REMOVE THE DEFAULT PAN IN KONTAKT? I have found it difficult to find information on this. Essentially, for example, if a key is played on the left, the instrument will sound louder on the left side of the headphones. The same goes for keys played on the right side, which makes the sound on the right headphone louder. How can I remove this effect so that is sounds centered and not based on key position? Thank you!
Huh? That's not something that I've encountered before? Sounds to me like an instrument specific feature? With what instrument do you experience that?
Hi. I just purchased Komplete 14 Ultimate and it allegedly came with the newest version of Kontakt 7.4.2 yet when I attempt to open some of the libraries it’s claiming my “version of Kontakt is too old”. But only a few of the libraries work. Like what is going on ? How do I fix this ? Native hasn’t responded. Do I need to update my Mac ? I’m running on Catalina.
I think you're accidentally running it in a old Kontakt version. Please click on the logo in your Kontakt player and see which Kontakt you're running? The old versions of Kontakt stay on your computer so that's confusing as hell. Happened a lot to me too :(

You can find new sounds literally all over the internet, from Native Instruments libraries, to 3rd party developers like us, to amateurs creating their own Kontakt library. Just throw out some google searches you will find a ton

How do I upgrade to 7 and di I have to pay for the upgrade 🤔
You need to go to Native instruments site and pay for the upgrade yes. Then you can download it from their Native acces tool
Looking back, I think part of the reason why some of the installations failed is because you were using an old version of Native Access.
The new version wasn't available at that time. Maybe it's better now?
I ran into issues with the newest Native Access (v2) in WIndows 11. Basically the software hanging when I ran it.
I ended up downgrading to an older version (v 1.14) just to get the thing working.

Every time I try to install kontakt 7 it says downloading process is taking to long sjf just keeps buffing and will never stop. Pretty pissed

Cheers buddy - nah - K7 can wait till the Summer half price sale - even then just maybe. What seems strange to me is devs producing K7 libs and leaving us K6 users who may have purchased them - unless there's some clever scripting using new K7 features. Cynic in me thinks NI of course are very happy for devs to do this - maybe there's some reduction in K7 licencing for those devs.

Native Access 2 is broken,the installers have disc mount errors.
Avoid this software like the plague until they fix it.
