Nothing here to justify upgrading my Komplete Ultimate 13, but it's always inspiring to hear packages being used, and I actually enjoyed all the demos you created here. I spend far too much time and money on music software that I never get around to using, but I still keep purchasing more..... it is so addictive!!! 😄
Hell....I'm still on Standard 9, and WANT to justify going to something past what I have LOL.
@@raoulbandera 1 outlook is if there’s something that will help inspire a new song or musical idea, then you’ve invested in yourself. Also if a purchase covers an area where you have a void, (eg. guitars, orchestral, easier trap hi hats, vocal plugins) then $ well spent.
I realized couple of months ago the instruments we have right now are like having a 100 piece orchestra 20 years ago .. it's more than enough whatever we want to produce .. it's upto us how we use these instruments
Which is your most valued piece of software (vst?)
@@StefanMichaels-ut9jg I have loads of fantastic vsts so that is an incredibly difficult question, but if I could only keep one vst it would probably be kv331audio's Synthmaster 2.

For all the expansions alone, it was worth it to me. had upgraded from K13U to 14 CE and love these playgrounds. that's a lot, you really have all the options. thanks for the video

Aw Mike thank you. Very usefu- i've just got the Ultimate- but I think I need a new computer to use it to it's maximum potential. Loved the demos (But I was hoping for a little bit of a dive into the machine expansions) BTW what did you use for drums in demo 1?

I'm still at Komplete Ultimate 9 that runs Kontakt 5 in it, so for me there's a benefit upgrading to Komplete Standart 14

Komplete Now subscription has all of the best tools and none of the stuff I'd consider filler, or just stuff I wouldn't use. It's a very well curated bundle.

Mike, another great video and excellent demos. It would be nice if you get this midi demo and use free VSTs to have a comparison and decide if worth pay for it.

You know, the truth is with some of plugins, patterns are played from one note being held - so the midi may not be helpful :( I like the idea though. For other demos I should do this.
And don't forget that if you buy separate items and later want to buy a Komplete bundle there are no discounts so you basically buy everything you already bought again. I am also a bit disappointed with what is included in Komplete 14. I already have Komplete 13 Ultimate CE and 14 contains mainly expansions (and a few interesting libraries) and they ask 399 euro for me to upgrade which is way too much money for what you get. They bumped up the price considerable. Even Kontakt 7 is a bit of a disappointment as it still has no decent resizing capability. I will wait until the next Summer Of Sound before I upgrade with a 50% discount
Exactly, if you buy separate items they won't let you upgrade at a discount. It makes no sense. Also, I don' think they have that many interesting libraries in Komplete 14, so I'm gonna wait for Komplete 15.

Very well made. It gives information (more than NI ads or vids) and keys for understanding. Point is that I am an old user of Komplete, but being an amateur keyboard player in cover bands, I am using it much less than in the past. I think NI guys are more interested in hip hop or bedroom producers, a way of playing which is far away from mine. Let's see Kontakt 7 (if they solved the bug preventing any sample to play correctly as the first key is pressed...)

I bought an Emu Xboard25 second hand and was entitled to a free copy of Ableton Live Lite. This entitled me to a free copy of Native Access, followed by Kontakt and Kontakt 7 player and a few other plugins

I mean it's a good synth with some great and unique features. But eating ~700 mb of RAM to create a sine wave...
I think your demos inspire not really to buy something but to create music. Even if you didn't want to. And that is much more important, thank you!
LOL - so true... I was working quick. Initially I was gonna try to make the whole sound in my head in massive x. Started with a sine wave... and then though, ok , that sound s fine with the others! Lazy option.

Mike, I have K9U and listening to your video it seems I don't know if I states should upgrade to Komplete 14 Ultimate. Foo I need komtakt 7 if I do upgrade? Need some help here. I do have Hollywood Opus Edition. So, you mentioned you can buy separately. Help me please.

I was hoping that Arkhis and Damage 2 might be included in Komplete Ultimate 14, but sadly not. At least Ashlight, Pharlight and Straylight are there, which I'm really keen on, but not sure I can justify the upgrade from version 12 as most of the new stuff I don't really need if we're being honest. Thanks for the great overview, Mike - really useful.

I recently got Komplete 14 Standard at a 50% discount (still £250, though). I'm a little disappointed with my purchase - and definitely feeling some buyer's remorse. I have only myself to blame - I really should have done far more research before being a fool and getting out the card. I already had the NI Discovery series of plugins (Cuba, West Africa, India, and Middle-East), as well as Noire, so in effect I was forced to purchase these again as part of the discounted package. I'm shocked at how poor most of Reaktor 6's soft synths/players are. Hardly any of them are intuitive, and most sound terrible 'out-of-the-box' with little to no guidance to the new user as to how get something decent out of them. Kontak's plugins fare far better - generally very polished and easy to get to grips with. TLDR: I would advise anyone to learn from my mistake: do your homework (as far as you are able) before taking the plunge on Komplete.
My Q I'm trying to figure out, should I get Komplete 14 or Kontakt 7 only. Do I really need Komplete 14?!?! Hm.. can't make up my mind.

Can you upgrade from standard to ultimate?
I already bought some of the new plug-ins, so there is little incentive for me to upgrade to 14. I wish upgrading to 13 ultimate from 13 standard was still available

i have part of 14 ultimate struggling on downloading the bigger one such as piano and Asia it seems to be downloading at 1mb at a time and then stalls about 1.5 hours in, having to do it over wifi a i dont have ethernet on the machine :(

@@CreativeSauce update i have now managed to install everything :) however Izotope installer is showing Ozone 10 ion a demo for a 10 day trial, have you had this issue?

I'm afraid Native Instruments are just running with the pack here and expecting people to upgrade frequently at no small cost. Another one for me to avoid, timebeing, anyway...
Ni is never getting another dollar from me, they constantly push out new content without fixing what they actually have. 2023 komplete kontrol vst3 with no resizable windows as just one glaring example. Face plant.

Kontakt 7 loads faster and much easier to find sounds now. I use to feel the same way but it is different this time. Check out more videos and you will see.
Kontakt 7 is the best so far with new sounds.
I got it today and was ready to be disappointed with it. But was very pleased. 😁
For commercials and backround music, it´s all ok. For all other producers, all sounds are cold and sterile. They got better. I own Komplete 9 and the development of this product runs in very small homeopathic dose......very disapointing !
Mike, when you started with the first demo with electric mint, I thought to myself... " hmmm, such an easy way to create porn music." ... 😄 Oh come on! I'm sure I'm not alone with that thought.
