    So after watching your video five times in a row I finally figured out to go into common files and then native instruments folder and from there click on 64-bit then I clicked on select and then contacts populated in my vst, oh my God thank you so much for all your help it was driving me bananas and when I contacted Ableton they said contact is not show up as a VST so I was dumbfounded and I was like wait I got to watch this video so I watched it over and over but I finally got it thank you so much

    Cheers Robin! I NEVER comment on or like TH-cam videos, but this one deserves it. You have saved me so much trouble. Can finally get around to using my expansions the way I hoped. It's surprising that Native Instruments don't make simple walk-throughs like this for installing their products, but luckily you took the time to explain these things for beginners like me. Much appreciated!

    Seriously. This video was an amazing help. Lots of videos on using g kontakt in cakewalk which I am beginning to use but none on how to get cakewalk to recognize it as a plug in. Which makes all there videos worthless. Finally someone actually made a video about the first thing you need to do. And I can guarantee some of them had this problem but never made a video about it. First off, Thank you Robin for this video. I had been using native instruments in maschine and then wanted to use them in ableton. If you already have all the stuff installed there is a very simple way to get them into ableton. Instead of creating the VST32 and VST64 in the common files. First go into Ableton preferences, turn on VST2 custom folder. Second hit VST2 custom folder browse button. Then look for the folder C:\Programfiles\Native Instuments\VSTPluggins 64Bit. Hit the rescan at the top and it will put all your native instruments plugging into your ableton VST drop down to use.

    • @robin_miller_music
      @robin_miller_music  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HurveyJones So you basically want to move them all to a new location? In *theory*, it's supposed to be easy. Move them on your hard-drive etc, go into Native Access > Preferences, sort the new locations as necessary. Then if you click on each product you have Installed (main window) it should bring up a side window which shows you the Installation Path, if this is wring you'll probably need to re-install each product (hover over 'Full Version' etc in the product's mini section and it changes to 'Reinstall'.
      I think this is the correct procedure but in reality I think it's a total nightmare! sorry man

      @@robertbonilla2943 Really sorry, I'm not an expert. Do you have any other plugins? Do they work? If not, try downloading and installing a different plugin (free is fine as long as it works with K Player). That will confirm if the problem is with K/Ableton or Output. I checked on Output's page in the DAW Support section and it says 9.2.2+ or 10.1. According to Ableton there was a 10.0.x release before 10.1.x so worth checking your version.

    • @robin_miller_music
      @robin_miller_music  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Brad. As you know I'm no expert, but this would be my suggestion. I'm on PC not Mac. if I go to Windows Settings > Apps & Features (where I can uninstall progs) I've got a list of NI Apps. Some are things I've bought/installed (e.g. Yangqin, the free hammered dulcimer they were giving away recently) but there's also 'Native Instruments Kontakt' and 'Native Instruments Native Access' (as well as 'Native Instruments Kontakt Factory Selection', which I think you leave there).
      So try uninstalling 'Kontakt' and 'Native Access'. But I would defo go through and check the individual files as well. Then re-start your PC and check again. Obvs this vid was a little while ago but I don't remember having any problems uninstalling and re-installing again. Windows installers are fairly forgiving in this regard.
      Hope that helps
