NGC = New General Catalog. This is a list (with position and some information) of non-stellar objects - things that shine that aren’t stars. So NGC 6302 is the 6302nd object listed in the New General Catalog- which happens to be The Butterfly Nebula. The NGC ( Full title: New General Catalog of of Nebulae and Clusters of Stars) is a list of 7840 objects and was compiled in 1888.
Coming in clutch with the brain food! Thanks so much! 🖤
I have both those FWP inks in my wishlist and I need them now after this! Also need Snowy Mountain Sunset😍😍😍
Birmingham really does the dirty/smoky/complicated colors really well. Plus I love Pittsburgh. (Went to college there).
They really do! They had this amazing, weirdly neon, murky yellow-green a while back called Gunpowder Tea. Unfortunately, they don't make it anymore and my friends and I miss it dearly.
@@CreepyNibs I get the impression (based on no evidence at all) that they must just blend up a whole batch saying “I wonder what would happen if we added….” But then don’t replicate it, because it’s more fun blending up something new.
Honestly, I wouldn't blame them, that's exactly how I'd do it too. 😂 GT was before they started making everything in-house so it's likely a kink in the supply chain, but I'd rather believe it was created in a haze of creativity-drunken ink madness.
Casey really is the Birmingham guru or something 😂 she’s the best. I also ask her about them. Lovely swatches. 😍😍😍 omg that chromatography for storm water runoff 😍 I love how the inks look on the md cotton paper
yeesssssssss
Absolutely gorgeous swatches! More to go on the to buy list … sigh.
Such is our curse... 😂
Thank you for swatching these! ♥️ Every one of these is beautiful, but my heart really goes to the two desaturated blue-greens! They are incredible! NCG 6302 is the butterfly nebula! If you Google that term, there are images you will love of it!
😍🤤😍🤤 Absolutely breathtaking, thanks for letting me know!
Holy crap these shimmers are fantastic! They’re so gentle and complicated. Each one has some amazing characteristics, but that VD Snowy Mountain Sunset is so beautiful! But I love the Adventurine on the TRP.
My knowledge of Birmingham inks is sadly going to start waning with the new ones. I CAN NOT buy everything in 60mL. I already have way too much ink. And some I’ve never had in a pen. I was thinking the Stormwater Runoff would be closer to Iroshizuku Ina-Ho, but not as close as I expected. The chromatography is so great! I love that it shows as NB flag colors and also the blue is totally ignorable. 😹 And on the paper towel, it does look like little bees!
The paper texture on the Smokebox swatch card reminds me of a wool peacoat. I LOVE it.
Thank you so much for sharing! I love watching you swatch. It’s so satisfying, and your commentary post swatching always brings things to light that I would have never caught. Spending time with you is the best! 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋
Right??? I was expecting them to be a lot more similar than they are but they all showed some pretty cool individuality at the end of it! Totally understand the restraint in buying the 60s, at least Vintage BPC Aficionado is still a cool hat to wear 😂
YOU'RE SO RIGHT, IT'S EXACTLY LIKE A PEACOAT. Amazing, I love it 😍 Thanks so much again for sending them to me, they're a delight to play with! 🖤🖤🖤
Those shimmers are insane! Oh yeah, I totally see the Nekoyanagi-esque characteristics in DI Sunset. Love FWP Blushing Mushroom & VD Snowy Mountain Sunset....stunning! I'm trying to hold strong. 🙉🙈 Not. Buying. Ink. Not a resolution - I don't make them either - but just the same - I shall not! At least not for a while. My ink 'Drawers of Denial' (and 2 plastic bins) are bursting.🤦🏻♀️ I'll need to make "arrangements" before buying anymore ink...🤔😏😂
That is the most bomb chromatography ever 🤩If one ever makes the ace flag I will weep in joy! My new year's resolution was to "not go overboard on pens". Lots of wiggle room in there, especially since I immediately bought a Magna Carta and two Benus because they were on winter sales 😔And now the new rabbit and celebrating cat pens from Opus 88?! Life is hard.
By the way, I don't know if you ever use rollerballs, but if so, did you see the Retro 51 in Silver Lining? It looks like it's made from your favorite resin, or very close.
RIGHT??? If I find one, I'll def let you know haha Good luck with your resistance! 🖤
Define “overboard!” Haha! ♥️
Countess, I always love your videos. I don't have anything interesting to say, my brain is like tv static right now, I just wanted to tell you that. 🥰
I did resolutions a couple years that were incredibly successful. The first year I resolved "eat more bacon". The second year was "eat more sausage". They were a couple of delicious years. Why do we tend to think resolutions need to be virtuous? I think my resolution for this year it to try to be more mindful. Not to deny myself anything, but to be more intentional in the things I chase/acquire. I'm also trying to enjoy the things I already have a bit more, but that's not really a resolution.
I really love your swatching videos! Well, I suppose I love all your videos. I am not as good at commenting as I'd like, because I frequently watch late at night or early morning while I'm still in bed, and I'm one of those weirdos who likes to use a keyboard to type replies. 😅I LOVE the NB flag hiding in the chromatography. I also love how those inks look on the MD Cotton. Sunset is SO TEMPTING, but I feel like I shouldn't, because I have Sunrise. Also it reminds me of Troublemaker Foxglove + shimmer so I should try to make my own. Snowy Mountain Sunset is gorgeous in the swatch, but too light for me in the writing - I gave my sample away once I realized it was going to frustrate me in that regard.
