Excellent content, well delivered.
Wow, I really loved learning more about this company, it's history and ethos, all their product lines & the myriad ways I can use them!- I just got my 18 set of Neocolor 2's today and have been dreaming about getting the largest luminance set- what a wonderful company making stellar products!
Love these products. I’m just a colorist but these are so fun to play with. They are expensive so I saved $ to buy them. I have everything except for the aquariellos + the Neo 1s. My favorite pencils are the pablos or Luminance. Beautiful. Gorgeous.
Caran D’ache is the best......very happy to know-about the environmentally friendly product and factory.
thanks so much for this video. I love Caran d ache and love the detailed explanations given in the you tube. Very informative.
I have a few of the Caran d"Ache products and I love all of them. I usually go for the larger sets, so I have to pace myself buying new sets lol.
I am thrilled with Caran D’Arch art products, and not the least of which because of the conscientious environment treatment in their production. This video doesn’t nearly do the colors justice. Soluble characteristics of the museum aquerelles is unsurpassed. And yes, the colors are incredibly rich. I’ve now got the full line of neocolor II, Luminance, museum acquarelle. I Even a small neocolor I. In this video he talks about how different pigments have different levels of grain, resist and other properties.. but Caran D’Ache reformulates the binder for each pigment to provide consistent solubility and laydown properties .. and they do! I am guessing that is an intense amount of research to accomplish. As a watercolorist, I well understand the inconsistant range of pigment behaviors.
What is the difference between the color pencils lines? Also, how do they compare to Albrecht Durer pencils/products, especially their watercolor pencils?
@@Sun.n.Flowers Hello, as I have all these color pencils too (and some others, I'am addict to Caran d'Ache quality), I can help you. Museum and Luminance are part of the expert line of Caran d'Ache, these line is dedicate for the "most demanding artists and creative professionals ... that will stand the test of time" as they said. Museum pencils are extra-fine watercolor pencil, lightfast. There are incredibly easy to dilute and have very rich colors. The Luminance is a line of "normal" color pencils, non-dilutable, wax-based, lightfast (probably the more lightfast line existing with the derwent lightfast). All have big leads (3,8mm), highly concentrated with pigments.
The product lines you are tolking about are also great Caran d'Ache products but a "notch below" those two. Supracolor, like Pablo, have no indication of lightfastness on it, are less creamy, have lower pigment concentration and lower covering power. Basically, if you have no need to be sure about lightfastness, Supracolor and Pablo are perfect, if you need to know about it, you have to switch to Luminance and Museum.
Neocolor II are also super fun and I have just got the pastel pencils wooden box for Christmas and wow ! All Caran d'ache products are incredible, I think everyone can find "his" product.
I hope this can help you. Forgive me for the grammar and spelling mistakes I probably made but I learned English only a short time and a long time ago !
The Luminance 6901 colored pencils and the water soluble Museum Aquarelle are the best of the top of the line, ever for flow and lightfastness! Caran D'Ache uses a universal color pigment numbering system that is used across the entire line that makes it the best.
Very nice demonstration. Thank you.
Thank you for all the information, particularly in regards to environmental standards. I wish Australia was even half as environmentally aware as Europe.
I have Neocolor II that are 10 to 15 years old and some that are only a year old and they all melt like butter when you hit them with water and it's lovely. I'm thinking of getting some Pablos and more Supracolor. I'm afraid of getting even one Luminance because I will want them all and my color pencil skills aren't there yet so I'll start with Pablos.
Just get the Luminance and get it over with. You'll just spend more on the way there, there is no way you won't try Luminance one day and afterwards you'll buy them all (or almost all) There's no going back after that one.
@@oana1111 lol thanks for the comment 😀 it's totally the truth
@@1Letter23Numbers. I chose my own selection of 15 colours. Instead of a boxset. Think they worked out a bit cheaper that way, too. I liked the pastel colours. Still haven't used them properly. (Don't want to waste them!)
@@hevski1055 they put out the box set of 100 and I bought it. I've played with them, but haven't made a full piece. What I've experienced has been a pleasure.
I'm curious what everyone's favorite papers are for colored pencil work. 🙂
This was great, showing me many Caran D’ache products I wasn’t aware of such as those crayons. Sounds like they would be great for drawing on my fridge.
Thank you! I learned some new techniques that I can use with these products. Can’t wait to get home and try the blender pencil with the water solubles.
I would have loved to see a demonstration of the layering fur technique using the two different pencils.
my favorite art supply company, first class, of course it's swiss!
awesome information... love these products
Thank you for this video. I would love to see a demonstration of a painting using both the Luminance and the Museum or the Pablo and the Supracolor.
I LOVE THIS !!! Thank You!!!
I now have the triumvirate of colored pencils: Luminance, Pablo and Museum Aquarel. Color me happy. Seriously, excellent colored pencils allow me to do my best.
Thanks for this video! More like this please.
This is my favorite brand because of the high pigment load.
you can heat set on fabric.....?! mind blown!
Thank you for an informative video. I was hoping to see pastel pencils. Did I miss it?
Thanks for this video!
. I have the watercolour palet from carand’ache and I love it. I use it with my watercolor pencils and the neon 2 crayons.. But don’t have the museum pencils I have the Albrecht Durer. Don’t know the difference between them. I have also all the pencils from the pablo series The Caran d’ache was my first brand when I was young, using, a small tin of watercolour pencils using on our holliday. And also, I have sold my first drawing with them. Years and years ago. ❤
Very good demonstration
I wish you could have talked about the NeoPastel oil pastels.
I’m not an artist, just do adult coloring, and have the Pablo’s and the NeoPastels. I only use my Pablo’s in special books with great paper. I absolutely love my Pablo’s! I haven’t used the oil pastels yet, but will eventually for backgrounds. I don’t know if my next Caran D’Ache purchase will be the Luminance or the Supracolors.
I have so many sets of pencils, and my FC Polychromos being the best below Pablo’s. I have full set of Prismacolor and I think they are overrated. I seldom use them.
Thank you for the demonstration and description of the products.
I boufht a 18 set of these for 1 doller at a yardsale lol
Excellent information! Thank you!!
In Finland we were given Caran D’Ache colored pencil sets in elementary school in the 80’s. They propably weren’t artist grade thou :D
Was someone trying to play the bongo drums in the background on this video?
Amazing ❤️
I love Neocolor 2 - had never thought of using them on fabric! A friend from France carries a set with an aqua brush in a makeup bag when she's traveling be train
And applaud the environmental standards.
In Japan, Fiber Castel is famous for colored pencils other than domestic manufacturers. Caran d'Ache is famous for all-pen fans such as Ecridor, but colored pencils didn't even pay attention to me as a Caran d'Ache fan. How is the writing taste? I like the sticky crayon-like softness.I would like to try it when I see it in the shop next time
I use Supracolor watercolor pencils and Neo color ll water soluable wax pastels...they are beautiful and it is easy to create with them. I use the Neo color ll along with watercolor to add opacity and extra textures. It will be great when I am able to get everything else you described! Thank you for your video!
Excellent demonstration ty
I love the Museum Aquarelles but I wish they made a "portrait" assortment.
The pastel pencils are not bad too.
Great info!
Non allergenic or non alagesic( pain relief)?? TFS!
He said allergesic vs analgesic you are thinking of for pain relief...
Great information !
Thank you :) but why ist the Sound so awfull? 😉
Just wish neocolor ll's were lightfast too
hello i need to know what we're or are the caran d'ache neocolor 7000/30 they came in a red tin (vintage ) ? i just ordered a set off ebay but everything they show is in french and i can't find anything about them , if they're water soluble or resistant or neither and are these actually the neocolor 1?...... helppppp please
Neocolor 2 are water soluble, neocolor 1 are not. Just Google it and watch a video on you tube, simple
Is this the official channel for the US distributor of Caran d'Ache products? Why don't you use your company name on your channel? Some very nice person contacted me and sent me some freebies to try after answering a lot of my questions and had mentioned a you tube video but I couldn't find it.
Audio was distracting.
Luminance is the only one thats known for being lightfast. The pablo is expesive crap
Where do the Prismalos fit into a catagory
The prismalos are the ones for children. They are food dye based as he said, so they definitely aren't as lighfast as the Pablos and Supracolors.
Thank You!!!
it isn't true that there is no wachs bloom at all!!
You’re right. They’re nowhere near as bad as prosmacolor but they do bloom.
I actually cannot see the difference from this camera angle. No sale here
If your selling the artwork then yes, no to 'play practice' or you well off
😢 hä?
These pencils cost too much. 😟
Not great sound on this, too quiet and there was a constant knocking and hissing the knocking was like something metal, I think it was your table!!! Also the camera was too far away to see what was going on!!
It’s more like a college lecture than a demo. And the interviewer most likely only had only one camera and he had to be be the camera operator and interviewer too. The mic is picking up the chair noise and all background sounds too. It is impossible to control the background sounds on an at an ‘work interview’ being shot by a single camera operator. Also known as a ‘single man crew,’, or a ‘one women production team.’ I am guessing there was a time restriction on access and so he couldn’t get any B- roll to cut in. I enjoyed this video because the sound didn’t hiss or crack, I can understand everything being said, the framing is well done and invites the viewer in, their are layers to the shot bing the foreground the middle and the background, everything is well lite, the shot is steady, the layout if products on the table are great set design and it is wary for the viewer to follow the topic and the product displayed on the table. As a women with two master’s degrees in this field, and two EMMY nominations with one EMMY win, I am picky about production value. For a one man, one camera, gorilla run and gun production it not bad. And he had a very knowledgeable person speaking on camera about the products. He was clear, explained well, knew his way around all products.
U are not apart of there company lol
How do you now?
Because I am I’ve never heard or seen that name before that’s how I know
expensive dart score item lol
