I don't think it was the execution that was lacking in MVCI. As a game it's fine. why it came up short was the infinity stones gimmick, it's restrictions on the roster during development, semi-outdated graphics and the overpriced DLC.
Let’s not forget the absolutely hilarious train wreck of the fact that you can literally play as the final boss of the story before you *ever* find out about him. You can literally play some of the earliest missions with a full team made up of the story exclusive villains who you *haven’t even met yet.*

Some parts of the story could be change, but only the minor parts. The reason why the game is bad is because the gameplay is running on a straight line, and it didn't really play like a sonic game. Thankfully, Sonic Frontiers is a really good game, but not at all game of the year. Sonic still has little bit to go before being able to compete with Mario again, but he eventually can compete with Mario without being squished like 2023 game awards.

'Unbalanced' Sanji physically cannot attack women Edit: thx for 2.5k. And lore accuracy doesn't stop the annoyance of it being in a crossover fighting game, completely debilitating effects kinda suck and make playing a character unworth it. Its a 2v2 fighting game and picking 2 female characters turns it to a 2v1 if the opponent has Sanji.
I hate when games make that. They could at least still make him do emotional damage that drains the life bar. The amount of times I can't play Sanji in One Piece or crossover games because an opponent is female is frustrating.

The worst part about Jump Force for me was the character customization. Because once you made a character all the clothing was just recolor of other characters outfits, and trying to mix and match pieced from different characters was God awful and never worked

Sonic Forces could have been fire. Imagine going back to the sonic adventure days with a slightly more serious story, villains who were actually competent and capable of being a threat, and cutting out the cringe part of the humor. Then what did they do? They ruined it with cringe humor, incompetent villians, and so much edge that even Shadow couldn't take it seriously. Not to mention the tonal whiplash from said edge being sandwiched by said cringe humor... and none of that is even talking about the gameplay issues.

JF using Anime Charateristics for the Characters is a Good Thing IMO It means that if they will ever do a sequel/remake with Extra Characters For example they can use Anime Jaden instead of Manga Jaden or make a Hybrid of the 2 Jaden in the Anime and in the Manga is very different and i think he is more interesting in the Anime

I shouted loud asf in hype. The game and story couldve been better imo. Maybe X gets upgrades from tony and Zero is studied in wakanda. Analyzing the virus, finding ways for Z to control it, and even upgrading his black zero form. Now hed have silver vibranium around his neck area in the shape of panther teeth, silver details along his body, vibranium claws like Absolute zero, a saber staff like the dora milaje, an upgraded saber, and any time his body takes damage, the kinetic energy can be absorbed and used with his buster or body. What we got wasnt BAD imo, but couldve been much better.
They could have X absorb Marvel's Characters Powers It would be kinda like in the Archie Comic Crossover with Sonic (where Rock absorbed Sonic & Friends Powers) But gameplay wise would have worked like the Power Up Rock obtains from defeating Onslaught in Marvel VS Capcom 1

Sonic forces is it for me. Fun idea: make your own mobian resistance fighter, take him on missions with an expanding customizable arsonal. Have your OC team up with your favorite character! Great, good, i love it. Physics and story are meh but thats fine! You get to use your CAC for like three levels exactly, the rest is as two versons of sonic the games physics are even properly set up for! The gam was clearly built around making the custom character work in a satisfying way, but it just doesn't work for the the two you actually play as!
Nah, that hardly scratches the surface of the issues with this game. Classic Sonic controls like garbage, the entire war aspect was ruined, Sonic being tortured was forgotten about before the next cutscene, the game is only 1.5 hours long (including cutscenes) if you have any gaming skill whatsoever, episode shadow was a DLC, Super Sonic was originally a PAID DLC, the enemies don’t attack you, Tails, Silver, most of the game is a straight line, the only level that was even slightly difficulty can be cheesed entirely with the Burst or Hover Wispons, “the clones are just as formidable as the originals” *Charmy proceeds to beat Shadow clone in 1 hit* , automatic sections, Vs Metal Sonic and Vs Infinite 3 are the same fight, Wisps, Infinite, Sonic can’t turn, someone cheated on all of the boss fights to get an unbeatable time, and the only way to make this game worth the money you spent on it is by completing the challenges (which is really hard for some reason). There we go, now THOSE are some reasons to call it a disappointment.

Keep in mind that because the whole dex was there, they had to make a whole 721 animated models for release day, PLUS the megas. X and Y are good because they were a huge stepping stone to ORAS and SM.

Such a shame because it actually had a really good tag system. I don’t know if I’m mistaken or not but the current tag mechanic that’s in Fighterz (being able to freely tag after specials) came from MVCI.
Honestly, I still have the game and still play it every other week, it does have a nice rhythm to it once you realize all the possible playstyles and movements, and I main Vegeta and Dai.

I think manga spoilers are a weak critique of the game. When this game came out the Bleach fandom didn't even know if we were ever going to get an anime adaptation of The Thousand Year Blood War arc. The Bleach fandom, including me, were excited as fuck to see final arc versions of these characters in a console game for what may have been the only time. Still may be the only time because even with the anime continuing, we still don't have a new console game announced. Besides, the manga had been over for three years by the time this game came out.

Edit: thx for 2.5k. And lore accuracy doesn't stop the annoyance of it being in a crossover fighting game, completely debilitating effects kinda suck and make playing a character unworth it. Its a 2v2 fighting game and picking 2 female characters turns it to a 2v1 if the opponent has Sanji.

I think Sonic Forces DEFINITELY had a good idea, having a custom character helping save the world using only their gear is a great idea
However, it was definitely poorly executed, for example, they said sonic was dead, only to reveal, like, five minutes after that he is only held captive. They should have waited till the halfway point at the EARLIEST for that reveal

Sonic Forces could have been fire. Imagine going back to the sonic adventure days with a slightly more serious story, villains who were actually competent and capable of being a threat, and cutting out the cringe part of the humor. Then what did they do? They ruined it with cringe humor, incompetent villians, and so much edge that even Shadow couldn't take it seriously. Not to mention the tonal whiplash from said edge being sandwiched by said cringe humor... and none of that is even talking about the gameplay issues.
Shadow himself is actually one of the better parts of the game.
I will not excuse Classic Sonic being shoved in, though.

The game and story couldve been better imo. Maybe X gets upgrades from tony and Zero is studied in wakanda. Analyzing the virus, finding ways for Z to control it, and even upgrading his black zero form. Now hed have silver vibranium around his neck area in the shape of panther teeth, silver details along his body, vibranium claws like Absolute zero, a saber staff like the dora milaje, an upgraded saber, and any time his body takes damage, the kinetic energy can be absorbed and used with his buster or body.
What we got wasnt BAD imo, but couldve been much better.
They could have X absorb Marvel's Characters Powers

Aizen big wall into almost a one shot was wild
Rukia and Toshiro were unmatched. Why? Because they could cover the entire screen in ice with moves that could be easily spammed.
I’ll never forget the first time I saw that Black Coffin move that Aizen had.
Shook me to my core. If the startup wasn’t like a full minute and a half I would not have faced an Aizen player online ever.

Classic Sonic controls like garbage, the entire war aspect was ruined, Sonic being tortured was forgotten about before the next cutscene, the game is only 1.5 hours long (including cutscenes) if you have any gaming skill whatsoever, episode shadow was a DLC, Super Sonic was originally a PAID DLC, the enemies don’t attack you, Tails, Silver, most of the game is a straight line, the only level that was even slightly difficulty can be cheesed entirely with the Burst or Hover Wispons, “the clones are just as formidable as the originals” *Charmy proceeds to beat Shadow clone in 1 hit* , automatic sections, Vs Metal Sonic and Vs Infinite 3 are the same fight, Wisps, Infinite, Sonic can’t turn, someone cheated on all of the boss fights to get an unbeatable time, and the only way to make this game worth the money you spent on it is by completing the challenges (which is really hard for some reason).
There we go, now THOSE are some reasons to call it a disappointment.

X and Y are good because they were a huge stepping stone to ORAS and SM.

Still may be the only time because even with the anime continuing, we still don't have a new console game announced.

Yeah the games were still good they could have just used that addition the others got not sure that is XY fault.

I think they're good but I just don't think the levels, mega-evolution usage and overall difficulty curves where executed all that well
@@charlottesivyer2104 yeah I can see that. I played using different self rules so it was fun for me but it is easy
@charlottesivyer2104 I agree on the difficulty curve and the level design wasn't the best, but Mega Evolutions were one of the coolest things to ever drop, even in terms of balance it wasn't too bad. The only one that was a serious problem was Blaziken

Aizen’s one move had this man completely invulnerable to being hit while he charged up this big ass box that took up so much of the map area bro. And the damage it did was ludicrous!
It took me 2 or 3 fights to realize that he could be grabbed out of it or certain moves would take him out of the animation
But this was fun to run the 1s with friends, to bad they took the servers down
Yeah. At least theres still local multiplayer but its not the same especially as they took it off digital stores
@@dougtheghoul2845yeah but some dickheads use guard break cheese and that deterred me from playing the game at all. Such a shame the community kept killing the game after the devs already killed it
I actually redownloaded the game a few months after server shutdowns, online multiplayer is still active, though ranks are gone and not many people are online.
