    Change the suspension compressor filter! It's on top of the compressor. I changed 2 compressors due to the filter being clogged with dirt and water (mud).

    And just FYI just a little tip on them being able to raise the car if the bags do go out pressure goes out, right above the jack points on the actual side of the car there is little doors that you can takeoff those doors give access to put a bolt there long thick bolt put that there and raise it up now you ain’t gotta worry about it being so low

    • @bucksgarage

    • @bucksgarage

      Sounds like your pump works fine which means your issue could be the rear shocks not holding air or your valve block not sending air back to the rear shocks. I'd check the shocks for leaks first. Good luck!

    • @bucksgarage
      @bucksgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hmmm if the pump is running it should come up to ride height. I would look at your ride level sensors and see if one of those went bad. Otherwise I would guess you have a huge leak in the valve block or one of your air shocks so the pump can't get enough pressure to raise the car.

    Takes a min to test the relay. It should click when you apply 12v and neg to the two horizontal blades that are opposite each other. Or you can pull the relay and short the vertical slot with the opposite horizontal slot in the fuse block where the relay was pulled from. That will give 12 volts to the compressor and you will know immediately if the compressor is bad or the connection to the compressor is bad.

    • @bucksgarage
      @bucksgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the front is at regular ride height and the rear is low but the pump is not coming on, I would almost wonder if you have a ride height sensor issue rather than a pump issue. It might think the rear is at the correct height. Only way to find out for sure if it is the pump would be to dump the air out of the system and see if the pump brings the front back up, if it does, then your pump is fine and the level sensor might be your issue. If the pump still won't come on, then yeah, might be a bad pump.

    Hey hopefully you answer soon! I replaced my pump and relay and the front sits fine but my rear will not go up. Is it the struts in my case?

    • @bucksgarage
      @bucksgarage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If the pump is running fine but the rear is not going up then you likely have a leak or a blockage. I would check the valve block that the compressor runs into, make sure it is not leaking or blocked. If not that then you probably have a large leak in one of your struts.

    • @bucksgarage
      @bucksgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should have a ride height sensor in the back, I would check that first. If not that, then the valve block up front might have let go and caused a bunch of air to go to the rear. Good news is the valve block is really cheap and easy to get to, I haven't dealt with the sensors, if you have a code reader it might shed some light on which direction to go.

    I have a 2001 S430 and this is really helpful. The rear of my car goes down sometimes after it sits for awhile, but it pumps back up every time I start it up. Is this normal or is there something wrong? Also, my trunk doesn't open without using the key now.

    • @bucksgarage
      @bucksgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are different opinions on the car settling down if it sits for too long. My E550 will settle if it sits for 3-4 days, especially if it is cold out. My neighbors brand new Range Rover did the same thing. You may have a small leak in a rear air bag, but if it holds for a few days you can wait a bit on fixing it. The trunk latch is ran by air on the S430 and is well known for the valve breaking down and not working anymore, requires a replacement of the trunk latch.

    I have a question . I have s550 and the entire back dropped to the tires just like how this car dropped for both front and back . mine is just the back both sides.. what do you think it will be? will it be the air strust for the rear ? because i see passenger airbag off on the dashboard.

    • @bucksgarage
      @bucksgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah if it is just the back dropping then I would guess you have a leak in one or both of the rear shocks. Will it pump back up while the car is running and hold? If so, pump it up then spray the shocks with soapy water to see if you can detect a leak.

    • @bucksgarage
      @bucksgarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomahawk5373 I would look at the ride height sensors next then. If you have already done the other major components and the compressor will run, it sounds like the car just thinks it is already at the correct height, when it is not. Ride height sensors are cheap and might be an easy fix.

    my mom car is driver side front and back is still good but flat on passenger front and back. Do you know what is wrong?

    • @bucksgarage
      @bucksgarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Did the front and back go bad at the same time or did the front fail and then the back later? It is a pretty simple system, air shocks, level sensors, a valve body that acts like a junction to send air to each corner and then the pump. You could have leaks at the air shocks, or you could have a bad valve body that is not sending air to the passenger side. Could also be a level sensor but I would think that would cause issues either front or rear rather than to just one side. I'd start leak testing the air shocks with soapy water and if you don't find a leak there I'd check the valve body next, it is cheap and easy to replace.
