I think not. This show is great on its own right and vastly different from the Sopranos. If you have good taste and are a fan of “The Wire”, this show is for you.
Thats your opinion but not comparable. It wasn’t meant to be a mob movie. The main premise was to tell the story of the old red light district in Times Square before they cleaned house in the mid 80s to make the gigantic light bulb it is today. And all the sex work that evolved from the streets into the adult movie industry. The mob was just a part of the story since they had a major hand in that business.

I don't think so. Buddy Luongo was in the Lucchese family and from the Bronx, in the series Tommy is with the Gambinos, and based in Manhattan.
