After a really terrible car accident in 2018 I've had horrible hip, leg, and lower back pain. My Drs at the VA gave me a Serola SI belt but I was wearing it wrong this entire time. I was wearing it too high and it didn't provide me any relief at all. After watching this video I found my belt and put it on correctly for the first time and it's been such a relief!! Thank you so much for this video. I hope that others who have similar issues find it and get the relief they need as well.
I'm glad that my video helped you understand how to wear the Serola SI belt in the right location. I see that a lot where people are wearing it too high and then it will not have its desired effect. Thank you for sharing your experience and I'm glad you found relief!
I’ve had instability for decades and chiropractor/PT/doctors have not helped. I now have a great new chiropractor who is helping and listening. I’m ordering one of those belts today. Thx! Love your videos and presentations.
Many of these belts are very thin and ride up, making it ineffective! This Serola brand is wider and so much more effective in staying in place! Great advice, Dr P!❤️😎💕🙏
I totally understand and could write a few volumes on how terrible I’ve been handled by VA doctors. Folks who haven’t been cared for by VA doctors don’t have a clue and that’s expected plus a good thing. Glad your dialed in the correct way.
I used a sacroiliac joint belt two months ago. I was suffering from excruciating pain, and now I feel 70% better. I have returned to some physical activities that I stopped two years ago. Thank you to the doctor. This is a message from God.
I am literally in TEARS! I've been suffering with back pain for over 10 years. I went to multiple chiropractors, acupuncturist, doctors and nothing truly alleviated the pain as much as this belt has. THANK YOUUUUUU SOOOO MUCH for bringing some sense of normalcy back into my life!! I am so grateful to have found your channel! I wish I lived in Northern California to come visit you. If you know of any good ones that specialize in this in San Diego PLEASE let me know. I feel like a whole new woman! I just turned 30 this year and I was so sad thinking I would never live a normal pain free life! Thank you soooo much again! Blessings! 😭💗🥹🙏
It makes me so happy that the belt has helped you so much. Thank you for sharing your success. I would look up sports chiropractor on this website www.acbsp.com I usually have better luck finding a chiropractor when I am on the road or have a traveling patient when I look for the speciality of sports chiropractor. They have gone through additional training, sit a national board exam and do additional continuing education every year. I hope that helps. 🙏🏼
Thanks for the video! I've been working with a physical therapist for SI Joint pain and today she recommended that I get one of these belts. I had some questions around them, and this addressed every question and concern I had! I almost feel like I'm going to need 2 (so I can have them dry out in between swimming or scuba diving!). I hadn't thought about wearing them in the water, so I'm glad you referenced that.
I’ve had SI joint pain for nearly two decades now. I never even knew what “normal” felt like for everyone else until I tried the brace and had some chiropractic treatments done for a couple months now and I cannot understate how much better I feel now. Thank you so much for even bringing this to my attention through your channel!
I’ve had chronic pain for over 20years and I’ve been to countless practitioners but your video about SI instability and it’s symptoms and causes was a lightbulb moment for me! Thank you
Hi Lisa, I’m sorry you have been suffering with pain all these years. I am glad that my video on SI joint instability resonated with you and I hope that you will find a lasting solution to your pain. Take care!
I also had SI joint pain (piriformes pain) for more than 20 years. I tried everything chiro, acupuncture, massage, cryology, compression, tape, on and on. I was even diagnosed with a herniated disc by a radiologist from MRI. Ten years later at Johns Hopkins showed the old MRI and had a new MRI and was told I didn’t have a herniated disc then and still do not now. They prescribed 3 months of PT. In less than 3 months the chronic pain went away and never came back. However, later the other hip hurt which I’m dealing with now. These videos have connected all the dots after all these years. I was doing a lot of lunges with a personal trainer but I’m going to refer my trainer to these videos and quit doing lunges. I also plan to get orthotics, the SI belt and do the exercises. Thank you so much for great explanations and information.
Omg ! For the first time in months I feel well after using an SI. Belt …I have fibromyalgia and peripheral neuropathy in my feet and have struggled for a long time … Wearing this belt has given me a new outlook on life and I’m 71 years old and want to dance again ❤️❤️. Thank you !
This makes me happy. So glad to know you found my content helpful and that your desire to dance is back! Take care and I hope you can start dancing pain free again.
That is fantastic Joshua. I'm glad that the Serola SI belt helped you feel so much better so fast. Thank you for sharing your story and your kind words.
Saw the video yesterday, ordered the belt and will get it next week. Meanwhile, I had bought one of those posture contraptions at Walgreen on the AS SEEN ON TV section. I wrapped it around my SI area this morning and immediately felt a huge relief. Straps stuck out but I tucked in my front pockets.
I just now put one on my husband and the pain he's had for a decade is 90% better! How lucky we are to have your videos show up in my feed!!! We really appreciate you!
I have been suffering sl joint pain for two years even if my MRI test were all clear.. My doctor said your all test clean you can go but l m suffering this damn pain then I coincidentally discovered your channel l really thank you for your giving this crucial information to us. Now, my pain healed %50 and I m doing exercise regularly as u said your videos and l ordered serola sl belt hope after wearing that my pain is getting much better because all reviews are positive. . During all this period of time (following you for 3 months) I just listened your all words my doctors really don't know anything they are just talking superficially :) I really love u you are the best sir ❤️🫶
I’ve been working with PTs and chiropractors for over 5 years for lower back pain and plantar fasciitis in both feet. I finally found a PT who approaches treatments in multiple ways, and my plantar fasciitis is now completely gone. I’m so thankful! But I still have low-right back/hip pain, and she thinks it’s related to the SI joint. Of course, I’m looking for info about SI joints now… Since watching your videos, I can tell she’s right! I was surprised to learn that the deep stretches I’ve been doing may be making things worse. Yikes! My exercises would make my pain worse, but I thought it was because I needed more stretching! I think I may actually have been shearing! Thank you for pointing this out! According to your video, I must have flexible ligaments. I can almost touch my thumb to my arm, like you described. I was surprised to learn this, because my leg muscles are very tight, especially my calf muscles, and they always have been (at least since my teens). I cannot lift my leg while keeping it straight when I’m in a supine position. My question… It seems I should do stretches to help loosen my leg muscles. But maybe stretches are adding to my SI problems because the ligaments are getting injured? Should I wear the SI belt and avoid stretches (only walk every day) until my SI pain is gone? Then when my SI seems healed, move to leg stretches? Or, should I get my leg muscles loosened up and then use the SI belt to help heal my ligaments? Thank you for your informative videos!!
You are a mensch, doc. You saved my a**, literally. Best SI joint interventive info. On point, succinct, clear, and helpful. I’m healing thanks to you. Very grateful to you.
I am an endurance runner with SI joint disfunction. This belt is the best that I have tried! Ran the Chicago Marathon a couple of weeks ago and I got a Boston qualifying time by over 19 minutes! I can’t thank you enough for the recommendation of this belt!
I had a trauma 18 years ago and have been in continuous pain ever since. Everybody in the world had an opinion but nothing worked. All my life I've been extremely flexible, in fact I was able to touch my feet to my forehead while bending backwards in Cobra pose. Now I can't do a thing, my body is the exact opposite. This and your other videos have explained both situations! I am going to get the belt and the ligaplex. Thank you so much!! You may have just changed the course of my life. I'm 70 but very active, and want to stay that way for at least 30 more years.
Stumbled across this video when looking for lower back stretches for my SI joint pain. Binge watched a bunch of your videos and immediately bought a trochanteric belt. I already feel an amazing difference, thank you thank you!
So, I watched your video a couple of months ago after doing some research into my low back pain problem. I was pretty sure my pain was coming from my SI joint but I didn't want to go out and buy an SI belt until I knew for sure. A generous person from a local freecycle group gave me her old SI belt. I felt instant relief when I put it on. I wore it until I could order myself a new one and now I'm going to pass this one on to someone else. I wear mine to bed every night and there is no more problem with pain waking me up. I'll probably have to wear it for a long time. I'm pretty sure I pulled it during one of my P90X yoga stretch sessions. I've switched to different exercises since then. You explain everything so well and your manner is very calming. Thanks so much for providing this content for us.
Hello T R, I am happy to hear you are feeling better. I am glad you found my content helpful. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your feedback. It means a lot.
All of your videos are incredibly helpful! Thanks so much. As a 66 yo woman who is hyper mobile, now I understand why I’ve been having SI joint pain for years, which really exacerbated after committing to regular yoga sessions years back! I actually ordered this very SI belt in 2015 but didn’t have any guidance about how to properly use it. I’m feeling very hopeful that I can get my now chronic right SI joint pain stabilized by following your recommended exercises and trying the belt again now that I know how to use it! Your explanations and demonstrations are very clear. You are amazing and so very kind to share on TH-cam. Wishing you all the best!
Hi, I am curious how you made out? Feel like this is something I'm suffering from and I just recently got a belt, how are you feeling now? If you are feeling better how long did it take before you noticed a difference. Thank you.
I ordered Ligaplex 1 and tightened my SI belt a little more because of your videos, and it's only been a few days but I'm feeling much better. My leg/foot isn't numb right now for the first time in months. You're a lifesaver. I love hearing the explanations for the recommendations instead of just being told what to do without any insight.
So nice to see you again Dr Peterson. I have a small request , will you please speak in the microphone so it is loud enough to valuable information from your video. Thank you very much , your viewers appreciate your teaching.
I love your videos. I’m 22, and I had an injury in February where I began having SI joint problems. It was getting better but then I was in a car accident, and for whatever reason, I haven’t fully healed. It’s frustrating having pain everyday for months and I want to be able to exercise and do sports without spasms and pain, but your videos give me a new outlook. I hope I’m able to heal soon and live normally. Thank you for what you do!
After 6 months so much exercise too many youtube videos finally my problem was solved by this man thank you doctor 🙏🙏🙏 thank you so much, the belt works with in 4 days, I bought from Amazon just 450Rs love you from Chennai India❤❤❤
I have been in constant pain for nearly 6 months now. In trying to find an answer i have been treated for piriformis syndrome, sciatica, and an anterior pelvic tilt and after months of these treatments and no improvements, i looked for another diagnosis. I'm a super active person. I do gymnastics, I'm a powerlifter, and i havent been able to do any of it for six months. I got my belt in the mail today. Wore it all day and i havent felt relief like this for months. Thank you so much for your videos on SI joint instability. This was the answer that i needed. I cant wait to bring this back to my PT. Thank you so so much
I got my si belt 2 days ago after 6 weeks of pain from back of hip to the ankle. The belt has made a great difference! Thank you for the directions of putting it on and wearing it correctly.
The belt has made such a positive difference in my ability to exercise. I can drive the car without pain in my hips and get back out of the car without gimpy pain.
Your videos on this topic are the most helpful that I’ve seen. I’ve been in terrible pain since March this year, when I overstretched my hip on a very steep hill ascent. All the exercises my sports physio advised have worsened my pain rather than improving it. I’ve bought the belt and I’ve been wearing it during the day for a couple of days so far. Already it’s giving me relief from pain and I’m sleeping better. Thank you. I have hope of healing at long last.
Been wearing this belt on and off since January, I found pain relief from the belt and was able to function without it, until I slipped, I’m back on the SI joint belt and so grateful. It’s been painful for 16 years before I found this. Saved my sanity!
@@PositiveMotionChiro absolutely! Chronic pain is the same as your soul being sucked away, until I found the SI belt I felt hopeless. After all these years it is a welcome change. The first time I woke up without pain I had a bit of a panic attack, I didn’t think I would ever experience that, now when the pain comes back I know what I can do without invasive surgery.
Thank you for making this video available. I have had this issue for years and gone to different PT, chiropractors and orthopedics but understanding this belt and how it can assist my anatomy is so helpful. I appreciate your caring and education!
Doc your “WOW” is spot on. I’ve been suffering from Sac instability for several years and never diagnosed correctly till now. I have to be honest I’ve tried several of the many simple gimmicks out there and became completely discouraged. I accidentally came upon your video while searching for something else lucky for me. However after watching it your honesty about the chiropractic quick relief and how it may not be a good thing for this type pain along with your excellent explanation of the anatomy according to this condition motivated me to at least check it out. I really didn’t want a repeat of purchasing something that didn’t work but had an idea come upon me. Taking a closer look at that belt I noticed it to be made almost identical to what’s called a ‘Belly Band Holster’ which is basically the same type belt with a holster sewed into it . I’ve found this holster to be an ideal way to conceal carry and have used it for years. I took the Velcro belt and put it on as you instructed and yes “WOW” I couldn’t believe the immediate effect it had on me in relieving a major portion of that pain. I immediately ordered a Sacroiliac Belt and wore my Belly Holster belt during the few days it took for my Sac belt to arrive. I can’t thank you enough Dr. Petersen for this video and your professional advice. The crazy thing here is all those years dealing with that pain at the same time wearing a belly band holster belt that could have provided me with the relief I’ve been craving. I can only laugh at myself but it makes for a good story during social hour.
I am so glad you found my content helpful D.Geo. Thank you for sharing your creativity with the holster belt you had at home😁. I hope you are on your way to feeling 100%. Thank you for watching.
Thank you for your good advice. I’ve had SI joint pain for many years and would love to really heal from it. A year or two ago I bought an SI joint belt and was amazed at how much relief it gave me. I was trying to slowly wean myself off the SI belt because I thought it could cause the muscles to atrophy. The joint pain was getting less but it was still there. Last week I tried some exercises from the internet from a very good spine doctor, but I must have done something wrong because I’ve been in a lot of pain again ever since. My SI joint pain I believe comes from pregnancy and a loosing of the ligaments. That was 40 years ago. I also have high arches and now, likely related to the SI issues, peroneal tendinitis on the right leg. No, I haven’t found the right type of doctor where I live. I’m 68 years old.
I had a hard fall 2 months ago. I developed severe SI pain for 2 months now. I've been going to therapy now for 4 weeks had an SI injection with no pain relief. I stumbled upon your SI video and purchased an SI belt. I can't thank you enough for your guidance and suggestions. I have gotten immediate relief with the level of pain I'm dealing with. I can't wait to wear it to bed and not wake up with nauseating pain 🙏. I also just started with a chiropractor and hopefully will be pain free soon.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting on my video Cheryl knauer. Sounds like you have been through a lot but it makes me happy to hear you are feeling better! Hang in there.
Having had acute si pain for two months and no help from gp ..I watched this video bought a belt .the instant I put it on the pain was 90% better ..I can only thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤ fir this info It works instantly 😌 👌
Perfect video to answer my questions about the SI belt. I have been in PT for a few weeks for core strengthen following an acute sciatica issue. My therapist recommended an SI belt to be worn for 2-3, months as it appears I have too much SI movement causing inconsistency in hip alignment. Your video answered all the questions I left with today. Though I know my PT gal to be so intuitive and good with instructions and that she will go over these questions when I have a belt in hand. But, this is so informative and concise I feel more empowered to embrace and use this to continue my healing for long term outcomes. Thank you so much for your time and expertise!!! ❤
I suffered a dislocated hip joint from yoga decades ago, and I have just learned more from Dr. Brant and this particular video than I have from the half a dozen chiropractors I have had over the years. All helped me to some degree, but Dr. Brant just offered me some new tools that I know will be helpful. I do have a SI belt, but I have been wearing it incorrectly (too low), and I do wake with a lot of lower back pain, often waking during the night from the pain so I am eager to try wearing the belt at night. I am so impressed with the information provided, truly in awe, and I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thank you!!!!
Thank you for your comments Tonja! They make me smile. I am so glad you learned from my video and I hope it helps you feel better. It is because of comments like yours I work on my videos. Take care.
Just had back surgery last year. No help at all! Wish I had found this video! It is just horrible that doctors and Physical therapists and even chirp don’t tell you any of this. All about money! And here we have person who is offering professional advise for FREE! Bless you !!!
Hello tia Storie! Sorry to hear you aren't feeling better after surgery. I do hope you start feeling better soon. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Hang in there🙏🏽♥️
I've had sacro illiac pain for 4 years & been going to a chiropractor once a month for 3 years and while the pain has subsided a bit, it's not a whole lot better. I purchases an SI belt & started wearing it yesterday and I definitely feel better and can walk with very little pain....I'll be wearing it night and day for 2 weeks as the package instructions suggest...I'll update my comment 2 weeks from now.
Update: Have been wearing it for 3 mos, 2 weeks wasn't enough....I don't normally wear it at night. My problem was caused by a fall where I landed on my right hip, HARD. It is now much less rounded looking than the left because it's pushed out of place. That being said, I've been wearing the belt for 3 mos, have lost weight and have been doing exercises for the SI Joint and I feel decidedly better with much less pain...I'll continue this regime for another 3 mos before I update again.
I found the belt incredibly helpful. After years of back problems it seems to stabilise the SI joints and resulting in less Strained muscles. Give it a try. The serola Belt is nog expensive. Got mine for 36€. TRY it !!! Thanks for the video doc!!!
Thanks for sharing your experience with the SI belt. When it is needed, it is quite remarkable how such a simple device can create such dramatic improvement almost immediately! Take care.
Thank you for this video. You explain everything so clearly and concisely without 'talking down' to your viewers. I have been suffering with SIJ dysfunction for months, going to PT and doing the exercises with no real relief. It started after knee surgery and was exacerbated by my mild scoliosis and having one leg shorter that the other. I have ordered an SI belt and look forward to achieving some relief. Thanks again.
This video answered all of the exact questions I had about this type of belt. I've been dealing with lower back pain for almost 6 months, and I finally decided to try this belt and see if it helps. I don't want the issue to become a bigger problem, so I'm hoping this helps. The video is a great help and exactly what i needed to learn.
Great advice, thank you! We should all really listen to our bodies, it tells us (often loudly with pain!) what it needs. Before I knew what was actually going on with my back, my dad gave me a belt to wear. It felt good at the place you recommend, and i was told i was wearing it too low. My body let me know exactly where it wanted the support before I knew the hows and whys of this thing many of us have going on. May you each experience healing and relief from your pain.
I have ordered this belt today. As a test I've started using a weight lifting support belt down low on the hips. Been using it for one day and have gotten some relief from my pain. I can't wait till the real belt arrives.
Thank you for your content - I am going to buy a belt. The pain has been terrible and stopped me sleeping. Your suggestion to wear the belt overnight was very useful. thank you
Wow! I nearly fell today due to the severity of the pain after bending down to pick up something from a cupboard. I put on a resistance loop while waiting for a commercial SI belt and felt an instant pain improvement. Exercises also make sense. Thank you so much for these videos! Very helpful and informative.
TLDR; this single video has helped me more than 6 years of US military healthcare. Thank you for this video. I am so glad i watched this video i’m actually about to cry. I joined the Marine Corps in 2016 and my back and hip pain started in boot camp, and they just attributed it to me being a small statured woman (I was 17 years old and 5’4”). My back pain continued through physical therapy, daily exercise, dry needling, hot cupping, gun massages, scraper massages, muscle relaxers, cortisol injections, and then in 2018 i got MRIs done and they found i had a healed tear in my labrum, trochanteric bursitis, bilateral hip impingements, scoliosis, and near-bulging discs in my lumbar. They diagnosed me with SI instability and arthritis, and prescribed me a Bauerfeind Sacroloc brace, but told me not to wear it for more than 3 hours a day because it would weaken my muscles. Eventually I was medically retired in 2020 because my pain wouldn’t go away even though I wore the brace like they told me, and continued physical therapy. The VA hasn’t been much help and won’t take me seriously because “every veteran has back pain, and every female veteran has hip pain” but I’m not even 24. My elbows, and knees especially, hyperextend how you mentioned and it blows my mind how a doctor on TH-cam has helped me more than conservative Naval medicine. Finding out I’m allowed to wear my brace all day from you has been the greatest help (even though I just started wearing it again yesterday) and I can’t thank you enough.
It sounds like you have been through a lot. Thank you for sharing your experience Tesla Stark. I am happy to know that you found my video helpful. I appreciate YOU and I hope you are on your way to feeling 100%. Thank you so much for your service!🙏🏽
Great video Dr..I.needed to learn more about trying to heal myself from my SI injury that I've been dealing with for a couple weeks now, I ordered a belt and should be receiving it in a few days, I now no how to put it on properly and tyten it also, hopefully my pain subsides and I'll be able to walk around again. Thank you Doctor.
I was diagnosed after MRI with 3 bulged discs and 2 herniations . so I concentrated on that. But it was because of LPHC instability. Your videos helped me so much diagnose myself. Gosh most Dr's...really don't care but thank you for this free session. 👍
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am glad you are working with someone who has brought your attention to LPHC and its importance. I hope you are able to heal your disc issues in short order and get back to feeling awesome. Take care!
Where was your herniated or bulging disc located ? Did you have sciatica pain ?I've also been diagnosed with herniated disc s1,l5,l4 .was recommended surgery but I've never had back pain and always had pain in my left side from the hip down my leg . Been dealing with pain in the hips for a long time and that's what I went in for in the first place .I tried the belt and instantly felt a lot of relief .
OMGoodness thank you!! I've had severe pain in the region of the SI joint after L4-L5 fusion. I started wearing this belt but wasn't sure if I was doing it right. Very informative! It has helped the pain since I've been wearing it, I pray that this heals! The surgery was rough enough!
I have been dealing with this since end of may this year 2021 the belt helps amazing and with my physical therapist . Because of all the wrong things I was doing it feels like I’m undoing them lol. But one day at a time Thanks for the video I was wondering about my belt and you answered most of my questions Thanks for sharing your knowledge 😊🙏
This is a very timely video. I ordered an SI belt immediately after seeing your previous video. I’ve been wearing the belt since it arrived last week. I had several questions which you’ve answered here. Thank you!
Hi Kaeleen, I'm glad to hear that my SI belt video helped answer some of your questions in such a timely manner. I hope you will get good results with wearing your SI belt. Take care.
Great videos by this guy. I have been having server tailbone pain for 10 months now. I have tried everything. I got the SI Belt yesterday. Today is the first day I have been able to sit without pain. Thank you
I have used a regular leather belt to good effect while waiting for a proper belt. Tied tightly around the hips/groin, just to bring my pelvis into a regular alignment. Has helped immensely and I can't wait for a proper belt!
Thank you for showing how to wear the SI belt. I got my belt today and feel lil bit better after got injured for almost 3 years. The belt is not popular and hard to get here in Korea, so it takes me years to notice that this kind of belt exists. Sorry for my broken english.
So sorry to hear that you have been in pain for too long. Thank YOU so much for watching. I am so glad that you found my content helpful. I hope you get to feeling 100% soon. Hang in there!
Thanks for the video doc! I feel like im pretty lucky i have only had this condition that i know of for about a month. I assumed i had a herniated disc because my Dad and Grandpa both have had them in the past. But i didnt feel extreme pain when i did the straight leg test. Also my other leg was starting to hurt but not to the extent that the one was hurting. I did have sciatica though im assuming from piriformus syndrome. I ended up stymbling on to a web site that talked about Si joint pain and i thought it sounded like what i had so i started watching your videos to learn more about it, thats when i decided i needed a belt. I ordered one from Amazon but it took 3 days to get here. In the mean time i made a makeshift trochanteric belt using a shirt for padding. It was great. The first night laying down i was pain free after wearing it all day. It was even better once i got the real belt. Its been about 8 days and i feel pretty good. The first time i ever had low back pain was around 2012 and every so often my back "goes out". Could this have been the problem the whole time?
Great video. I’ve been having server back pain over an year now. Pain worsened when I had my knee surgery (osteotomy). I went to chiropractor only to get short-term relief, I had to keep going to be adjusted. Then I went to pain management and found out it’s my SI joint.
Hi Avi G, I'm glad that you had a doctor determine the cause of your pain. Finding the cause and then treating that is the key to great outcomes in healthcare. Thank you for your comment.
Great tutorial! I purchased one last week and started to feel immediate relief. My chiropractor has been treating me with the drop table and doing a really good job. Your instructional videos, including the strengthening sets, will take me to 100%.
This is a great video. I’ve been taking SI injection shots for 2 years. I took your advice a went to a Chiropractor/ physical therapist and received immediate pain relief. Thank you for this channel. Great information. I did order me a SI belt to see if it will work for me.🙏🏾😟
I got my first built in 1990, after a bad fall playing soccer. I used it for many years, put it away, forgot about it, then I saw this TH-cam video and remembered that I had the belt. Because I had a recent injury I didn’t pulled out the belt I’ve been wearing it for quite a while now and this is 2023.
MANY THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO DO THESE VIDEOS. Attempted to purchase through affiliate link but am in the UK. If you put up a UK link this week, I'll happily use it to purchase a Serola belt. Once again, many thanks for sharing your time and knowledge. (After an innocuous fall 4 years ago, my day to day life is: pain, pain and more pain)
Hello Mint Tea, Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story. We do not have a UK link at the moment only the one mentioned. I do hope you start feeling better soon!
Thank you for sharing this. A tool only works if used correctly on the right thing. You don’t use a hammer for a screw, and you have to hit the nail on the head. The SI belt is no exception. 👍
I’ve been suffering from SI joint issues for the better part of 30 years after a fall down a flight of stairs in my 20s. Didn’t notice it too much until my first pregnancy and it was impossible to sleep on my side for more than 30 min. It’s been a nagging problem for years. Saw your video and decided to purchase the SI belt and I’ve been wearing it for 2 days and I can already say it’s a game changer! I’m sleeping better but most importantly, I wake up with NO pain in the am. Thank you!!!
9month feeding mother am suffering lot of pain in my hip and groin pain from si joint I can't walk and sleep properly, exercise also not working,i consulted surgoens and pt also plz suggest me
Omg. Thank you I lost some weight and my chiropractor had given me at the time SI belt. It’s a little longer now. I found your channel on how to wear the belt. I was wearing all wrong. I do wish my SI belt was not so long. I paid for it not knowing I would lose some weight. Judy
Nicely said sir...well informed and easy to listen to. That goes a LONG WAY with me. Ex military with many aches and injuries going back 30 years. Need all the knowledge I can muster. Thanks again...82d Airborne
Thank you for the video, so clearly explained. My SI problems came on gradually, maybe caused by hoisting my elderly Greyhound into the back of the car, and I have been going to a chiropractor. However, the pain got worse with that treatment and has been causing disturbed nights. I have recently bought an SI Belt after watching your video (and a few others also!) and now realise that maybe I've had it on too tight as it hurt more with it on when I walked than without it. However I did sleep better last night (without the belt on) so maybe it is helping! I will try sleeping with the belt on tonight and hope for the best!
4 1/2 months after falling fracturing the femoral neck and having a semi hip replacement on the left hip my left and infrequently my right SI joint hurt as did my lower back about 3 inches higher. Many of the exercises and stretches assigned me by my physical therapist would also cause this pain and I still walked with a slight hip drop to the left. With my latest evaluation I was put in a Serola SI belt, instant relief and much improved walking. My PT now believes that when I fell I may have injured additional areas that don't show on an xray. Because I initially had postural limitations for 2 months tendons and muscles tightened and shortened but apparently the ligaments around the SI actually loosened. I also have a pronating right ankle that I hope to correct. I think my exercises are going to now better help my range of motion and flexion in my hip as I wear the belt.
Thank you for doing these videos. It has given me answers to reason for pain. The belt I bought helped so much unfortunately, the anti-slip material gave me hives. I'll return it and order the one you suggested as well as see my chiropractor for complete diagnosis.
This is a great video. Thank you I have this pain exactly at the mentioned areas but it comes and goes. When it comes, it will stay for 3 to 4 days. I have met many doctors but no one has diagnosed it properly. When l have this pain, I cannot even stand straight
You are very good. I like the last part of your lecture. I do feel the excruciating pain at night. Sometimes, I dream that I am crying because I am in pain. And, I am really in pain. Thank you for your clear explanations.
I just came across your video on How to wear the SI Belt. This is so helpful! I’d love to see your follow up videos on exercises to self-adjust when I slip out of alignment and ways to strengthen the area. Thanks!
I had Covid earlier this year. Luckily it wasn't a severe case, but I was too tired to do much. I got up to do a couple of chores and then had to go back and rest. One day I suddenly felt like I was much better and I started to do a few things. I bent over to pick something up and felt and instant and horrible clunk in my lower back. A steroid shot helped right away but I don't want to rely on them so I made sure that I was diagnosed correctly and that it wasn't a disk issue. I found out that I had injured my SI joint. Big lesson...if you have been inactive for a week or two...be super careful with yourself...don't jump right back into moving like you did before. All that inactivity made me stiff and I injured myself in a big way by doing too much too soon. Move carefully and slowly after many days of inactivity. I have an SI belt on right now and it really really helps. Loved this video. It gave me even more information. God bless you all and I pray for the healing of your backs.
I had pain in that region for many years. I did physical therapy for it but the relief was only temporary and sometimes after I did stretch a lot the pain came on strong in the next few days. I kept doing those exercises before there were brief periods of relief but I stumbled upon videos like this and rethought the process. I got a belt and wore it during the waking hours and at first it brought on some pain...slowly though after days the pain dropped off and it started to feel a lot better. I did only a tiny bit of minor stretching in that time but now I am starting to feel like I can get back into more strengthening exercises and kick this to the curb for good.
I hadn't even ever heard of SI joint pain before until recently when nothing else was making any sense. I now know the main cause too but, that's not going to be easy to change quickly. This belt will surely help with the pain. If only it could be worn when surfing but I doubt so as it will ride up when sitting on the board in the water. The cause of my pain started over time after my 2 hip replacements. After missing a year of surfing I couldn't pop up fast like before so I developed a method of dragging my back inside leg/foot into the face of the wave to slow me down. Sometimes severely in fast steep waves. I had no idea I was stressing this joint and always thought it was back pain. The aha moment came one session while dragging my foot I felt the tearing pain. Now I can't even transition from sitting to paddling my board without aggravating this joint so bad that I have to go in. The good is I now have a 99% idea of what's causing it. The bad is it will take a long time to remedy it. Thanks for the great video.
Hello Trillby Arnold, It sounds like you have been through a lot. Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope you are on your way to feeling better soon. Hang in there.
Really great information, thank you! I had a bike injury years ago, it healed on its own, but I occasionally shear the SI joint, (I just learned this from you. :-) ) Got the belt and the supplement and I believe I'm on the mend. Thank you, again.
Omg so I just ordered a belt after having been dealing with this pain for 13 years nonstop - I have difficulty sitting for long periods of time, especially driving, but also a constant need to stretch when walking , the SI pain radiates down my leg from it and is extremely painful, I hope this helps!! Also , I gasped when you said hyperextended knees because I have them too. I had no idea that might be related with my leg issue! My chiropractor told it could have something to do with my right leg ( my bad side) is shorter than my other leg.

Oh boy, I'm so seriously glad I came across this! I've been to so many Doctors, Ortho, physical therapy, been in pain for about 15 yrs! Not one of them helped me, so frustrated!! I can't take it anymore 😪 Now I'm frustrated I can't find the link for this belt...lol please help I was told recently I also have RA on my SI joints. Will this still help??
Hello C L, Thank you so much for watching my video. I am glad you found it helpful. Here is the link to the belt: * Serola Sacroiliac Belt: amzn.to/3hkiIjh
I used a yoga strap to test if this would help my chronic hip and low back pain. Not only did it feel better walking, my right hip pain decreased to just 4-5/10 and my low back pain decreased to 3/10. I was surprised at how quickly my low back pain flared if I forgot to put the strap back on after getting dressed. Can't wait to see how well an actual SI brace works for me!
@@PositiveMotionChiro thank you for making these videos! I'm glad I found your channel. I've got hypermobility, but had never realized that my SI joint was affected. I got a Donjoy SI belt and have had improvement, but very slow. I had to wear it all day every day for a couple of weeks, until bedtime for another couple of weeks, and now, I have to take it off around 5pm.
Today I listen to you Dr talk about the SI belt and I had to laugh because I had something happen today purely by accident I was working on a bucket loader and I had multiple things that I had to carry so I took a military pouch and I put it on a belt and brought the belt across just the way you put in a side belt on and tightened her up and said wow that actually feels better and it went out and worked for the day and came back feeling now too bad. And I would just a plain old everyday dress belt. Worked is fine. Thanks for the information God bless you
Greetings Dr Pedersen. You are a calming force unlike anything I have seen on you tube. I have looked several times at this presentation and others from you pertaining to the SI joint. I actually read all the comments you have received. Shocked, at how you take the time to answer virtually all of them - not shocked by the happy campers you have created. Ok, your head's big enough☺. Got the Serola and its a game changer - thanks to you. SI was missed on me for oh so many years. Would a seated figure 4 stretch maybe be considered a potential SI aggravator? Better with the belt on perhaps? Unsure if that stretch can put more laxity in to the SI ligament. I have done if for a long time as it allows me to keep enough flexibility to tie my shoes. Thanks much, Chuck Weissman
I've been dealing with this I joint pain for many many many years and I used to go to the chiropractor three times a week for a long time I will definitely buy this belt right now
After a really terrible car accident in 2018 I've had horrible hip, leg, and lower back pain.
Amazing that one can get expert advice like this for free. I'm impressed to say the least. Thank you Doctor!
I am filled with joy for your discoveries and relief from pain. 😊
Yeah but did the pain stay away when you aren’t wearing the belt?
@@sswany_ NOTHING guarantees pain not returning. Nothing. But the belt is a tool that truly helps. It is also beneficial to think positive…
Thank you
Hi Lisa,
I’m sorry you have been suffering with pain all these years. I am glad that my video on SI joint instability resonated with you and I hope that you will find a lasting solution to your pain. Take care!
@@PositiveMotionChiro thank you, that’s kind of you :-)
True for me too
Please go for a HLA B27 test too!
Belt …I have fibromyalgia and peripheral neuropathy in my feet and have struggled for a long time …
Wearing this belt has given me a new outlook on life and I’m 71 years old and want to dance again ❤️❤️. Thank you !
This makes me happy. So glad to know you found my content helpful and that your desire to dance is back! Take care and I hope you can start dancing pain free again.
I am so happy for you . God Bless .
Chronic pain while sitting for five years. With this thing on I can instantly sit longer without pain. Magic!
Hello Soldier X,
Happy to hear you are feeling better. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts!
Saw your video, quickly had a Serola belt overnighted to me, and the pain was instantly 90% better. So glad I saw this video and thanks for making it!
@Lark Hughes, its been a while did either help? Having pain would love advice! Thanks!!
I just now put one on my husband and the pain he's had for a decade is 90% better! How lucky we are to have your videos show up in my feed!!! We really appreciate you!
I’m so glad it made him feel better!
You’re a wonderful communicator. It’s really nice to get some very clear information delivered calmly. Thanks!

You are welcome Mark Portier. I'm glad you found my content helpful.
I am an endurance runner with SI joint disfunction. This belt is the best that I have tried! Ran the Chicago Marathon a couple of weeks ago and I got a Boston qualifying time by over 19 minutes! I can’t thank you enough for the recommendation of this belt!
Congrats on your running accomplishments! That is phenomenal. I’m glad the belt is helping you out. 🏃

I bought the Serola belt after watching an earlier video- has been a life changer! Thank you so much for everything you do ⭐️⭐️
I’m so excited for you! Thanks for sharing your success. Your comment is why I put out content on my TH-cam channel. Take care!
do you sleep with it ?
Hello T R,
I am happy to hear you are feeling better.
Thank you for sharing your story. I'm glad that my videos resonated with you. Take care!
Hi, I am curious how you made out? Feel like this is something I'm suffering from and I just recently got a belt, how are you feeling now? If you are feeling better how long did it take before you noticed a difference. Thank you.

My leg/foot isn't numb right now for the first time in months. You're a lifesaver. I love hearing the explanations for the recommendations instead of just being told what to do without any insight.

Hey can you please send me the link? I am badly suffering from this pain from last 2 weeks, unable to find this belt please send this link.
Hey was your pain fully gone? Or the pain is gone just when we wear that belt? 🥺
Great to hear that you are feeling better Linda Mathews. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
The belt has made such a positive difference in my ability to exercise. I can drive the car without pain in my hips and get back out of the car without gimpy pain.
That is so good to hear that the SI belt is helping you decrease your pain and improve your function. Thanks for sharing!
I have hyper joint mobility syndrome and your video gave me hope. I have already ordered the belt you suggested. Thanks for sharing.
I hope the SI belt will help you to feel better.

Thank you for watching Grunt Proof. Glad you are on your way to feeling better!
Hello Celia Haddon,

Been wearing this belt on and off since January, I found pain relief from the belt and was able to function without it, until I slipped, I’m back on the SI joint belt and so grateful. It’s been painful for 16 years before I found this. Saved my sanity!
Wow! So happy to hear you found my content helpful and that you are feeling better! Thank you for watching and sharing your experience.
I was wearing mine wrong and thinking it wasnt helping. Thank you! I realize its helping a lot

I'm glad that you have found my content to be helpful. 😊

How are you now?
I am going to the chiropractor this week and will most likely be buying a belt. Thank you!
You are very welcome. I hope you feel better soon!
I found the belt incredibly helpful. After years of back problems it seems to stabilise the SI joints and resulting in less
Strained muscles.
You are welcome Penny. I am glad you found my content helpful.
I can't thank you enough. I've been messing with this for 20 years (yes 20 years). The belt it a life saver.
Hello Pat Thompson,
I am happy to know you found my video helpful. I hope you are on your way to feeling 100%.
Take Care.
Glad you found my content helpful. I hope you get to feeling 100% soon!
I tried using exercise bands to replicate the effect. it's the first hour of pain relief in a year. I will go out to get one asap. Thank you immensely
Your suggestion to wear the belt overnight was very useful. thank you
You are welcome Sue Weatherill. I am happy to know you found my video helpful.
I had those resistance bands that go around your thighs etc. They're perfect for this.lol.
Wow! I nearly fell today due to the severity of the pain after bending down to pick up something from a cupboard. I put on a resistance loop while waiting for a commercial SI belt and felt an instant pain improvement. Exercises also make sense. Thank you so much for these videos! Very helpful and informative.
Yep I've had it for years and I'm laxed. And I guess I have forgotten about all my physical therapy that I've gone through so thank you once again.
Glad you found my video helpful. Thank you for watching Carmen ****.
Nice practical video covering all the important points ... Important for people to know that SI belt can help relieve lower back pain ...
Thank you fo much for your feedback.
But one day at a time
Thanks for the video I was wondering about my belt and you answered most of my questions
Thanks for sharing your knowledge 😊🙏
Hello Christie Stoddard,
I appreciate you taking the time to share your story. Thank you for watching.
This is a very timely video. I ordered an SI belt immediately after seeing your previous video. I’ve been wearing the belt since it arrived last week. I had several questions which you’ve answered here. Thank you!
Hi Kaeleen,
I'm glad to hear that my SI belt video helped answer some of your questions in such a timely manner. I hope you will get good results with wearing your SI belt. Take care.
Great videos by this guy. I have been having server tailbone pain for 10 months now. I have tried everything. I got the SI Belt yesterday. Today is the first day I have been able to sit without pain. Thank you
Hello Melissa Meskenas,
I’m glad you found my content helpful and that you are feeling better.
Where available this belt
I have used a regular leather belt to good effect while waiting for a proper belt. Tied tightly around the hips/groin, just to bring my pelvis into a regular alignment. Has helped immensely and I can't wait for a proper belt!
That is awesome Bat Human. I hope you get back to feeling 100% soon. Thank you for watching my videos.
Could this have been the problem the whole time?
fantastic video, best one on SI injury i have watched, simple and precise, thankyou
Thank you for your feedback Richard. I really appreciate it and I’m glad my video was helpful.
Great video. I’ve been having server back pain over an year now. Pain worsened when I had my knee surgery (osteotomy). I went to chiropractor only to get short-term relief, I had to keep going to be adjusted. Then I went to pain management and found out it’s my SI joint.
Hi Avi G,
I'm glad that you had a doctor determine the cause of your pain.
Great to hear Phil F. I hope you do get to feeling 100% real soon!
This is a great video. I’ve been taking SI injection shots for 2 years. I took your advice a went to a Chiropractor/ physical therapist and received immediate pain relief. Thank you for this channel. Great information. I did order me a SI belt to see if it will work for me.🙏🏾😟
Glad it was helpful Teddy Bear. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story.
Hello Mint Tea,
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story. We do not have a UK link at the moment only the one mentioned. I do hope you start feeling better soon!
Thank you for sharing this. A tool only works if used correctly on the right thing. You don’t use a hammer for a screw, and you have to hit the nail on the head. The SI belt is no exception. 👍
Yes you are right. Thank you so much for watching.
That is wonderful that you're experiencing relief. Thank you for your comment!
9month feeding mother am suffering lot of pain in my hip and groin pain from si joint I can't walk and sleep properly, exercise also not working,i consulted surgoens and pt also plz suggest me
Hello sister plz reply me
Omg. Thank you I lost some weight and my chiropractor had given me at the time SI belt. It’s a little longer now. I found your channel on how to wear the belt. I was wearing all wrong. I do wish my SI belt was not so long. I paid for it not knowing I would lose some weight. Judy
Hello Judith Blue, I am glad you found my content helpful. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I hope you are on your way to feeling 100%!
Thank you for your reply. I also have a facet joint that is acting up. Always something ❤
Nicely said sir...well informed and easy to listen to. That goes a LONG WAY with me. Ex military with many aches and injuries going back 30 years. Need all the knowledge I can muster. Thanks again...82d Airborne
Hello Kelly Crouch,
Thank you for your service. Glad you found my video helpful.🙂
Hello Genny Stallabrass,
Thank YOU for watching and sharing your thoughts! 🙏
I hope you get back to feeling 100% soon. Hang in there.
I was wearing mine wrong and thinking it was not helping. Thank you for sharing very helpful.
You are so welcome!
Hello Rene Drake,
Thank YOU for watching and sharing your thoughts! 🙏
This is a great video. Thank you
I have this pain exactly at the mentioned areas but it comes and goes. When it comes, it will stay for 3 to 4 days. I have met many doctors but no one has diagnosed it properly. When l have this pain, I cannot even stand straight
Thank you! It is so difficult to find good info on si instability.
You're welcome Mary Ann Smith! Glad you found my content helpful.
You are very good. I like the last part of your lecture. I do feel the excruciating pain at night. Sometimes, I dream that I am crying because I am in pain. And, I am really in pain. Thank you for your clear explanations.
You are very welcome and I am glad you found my content helpful. Hang in there.🙏🏼
I just came across your video on How to wear the SI Belt. This is so helpful! I’d love to see your follow up videos on exercises to self-adjust when I slip out of alignment and ways to strengthen the area. Thanks!
Here is a video on ways to strengthen the muscles that stabilize and support the SI joint: th-cam.com/video/C7lH34CfwYQ/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for sharing your story! I wish you the best of luck on your healing journey.
Hello tArchStanton
It makes me happy to hear you are feeling better. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts.
I am curious how you are doing now? I'm at Day 2 of wearing the belt. My fingers are crossed!
@@tryingmybest3166 The belt helps but when I do have times where I think I'm ok and don't wear it for a while, discomfort returns.
My problems started last year when I had problems with my feet. So looking forward to the video on the connection to the feet.
Hello Trillby Arnold,
It sounds like you have been through a lot.

You are welcome RJ Lincoln. I am happy to hear you are on the way to feeling 100%. Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching.
I so needed this video thanks so much
I’m glad my video on SI belts helped you. Take care.
This was a wonderful video. Everything was clear and understandable. I look forward to other videos. Thank you so much for contributing to others!!❤️

Oh boy, I'm so seriously glad I came across this! I've been to so many Doctors, Ortho, physical therapy, been in pain for about 15 yrs! Not one of them helped me, so frustrated!! I can't take it anymore 😪
Now I'm frustrated I can't find the link for this belt...lol please help
I was told recently I also have RA on my SI joints. Will this still help??
Hello C L,

My belt came today. Looking forward to strengthening my core and making life less pain filled.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting Marcy. I hope you get to feeling better soon! Hang in there.
Hello docannedc,
Thank you so much for watching my video. I am glad you found it helpful and that you are feeling better!
Thanks for the information God bless you
Hello Merle Roupe,
That was very creative and glad it helped!😄 Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
