    Thx for taking time to make this video, I see so many questions about the harness for the radio controls needing a harness then its plug and play. So my question is you have the radio control and the harness to it and where does the harness from the control plug into the steering wheel?

    • @TruckBros

      The harness will plug directly into the srs coil or clock spring as its call. The vehicle should already be equipped to accept the harness. Unless the vehicle is a base model. Any further question im here to help.

    I'll tell you why... It's because it's a Mexican built truck built mainly for the Mexican market and GM decided to sell them in the US also.

    Can this be added to a 2011 gmc 2500 HD diesel it has the cruise and I want to add the audio control I have a switch but can’t seem to find the harness

      You have to rob it from one with the harness. I cant find any premade.

    Wait wait wait, I didn't see any wires that you plugged into your new module. Were they already there or did you have to run a new harness to the stereo?

    • @TruckBros
      @TruckBros  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They were already in the steering wheel. I had a spare one I robbed parts from.

    Hey buddy i have a wt silverado I added the radio controls its lights up but not working im wondering if I get a steering wheel adapter will it work with an aftermarket radio? Thanks

    • @TruckBros
      @TruckBros  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think the wt came pre pinned for the controls. If it has cruise it might but you would have to add the harness and steering wheel to see. Most aftermarket radio can have a wireless transmitter added to make the controls function but the control on the steering wheel will need power from the truck if I remember correctly.

    • @travisbullock2149
      @travisbullock2149 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How far do you have to go into your steering column to be able to plug the harness in? Or does the radio controls have to be ran all of the way from the steering wheel to the radio? Or is it already preran at some point?

    • @TruckBros
      @TruckBros  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Everything you need will be in steering wheel and stop at clock spring. Unless it's a work model. Gm is pretty good about plug and play.

    • @TruckBros
      @TruckBros  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I took my harness from another steering wheel with the controls. You maybe able to find 1 on ebay or rockauto. Not sure because it's really hard to just by a harness. A wrecked truck would be the best bet though.

    • @MrViper7121

      But will their be a steering wheel control wire at the radio?

    • @TruckBros
      @TruckBros  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unless it’s a work truck everything is pre wired. All the way from 99 to 17 go always pre wired trucks to take different options. It would cost way to much to produce different harnesses. That’s why you can add some much to a base none work truck.

    This will NOT work without factory cruise because the clockspring will be missing pins!
