    Marjorie Reynolds has long been a favorite. She was so beautiful singing White Christmas with Bing Crosby in 1942's Holiday Inn, even if she was lip syncing. She was also Roy Roger's leading lady in one of my favorite westerns, Robin Hood of the Pecos. Thanks for uploading.

    It's always fun to see how much bang Poverty Row studios could get for very few bucks. John King reminds me of Jeffrey Lynn - the looks, voice, mannerisms. And Marjorie's always a hoot. Thanks for posting this movie.

      The way things are right now, I think it would be a real hoot if a new movie studio started up calling themselves POVERTY ROW STUDIOS !!!

    There is no place to hide anything in a train compartment, so just keep it on your person, seems simple. The detective couldn't catch a cold in a snow storm. He should have checked the liquor flash to see if it contained liquor and he made no comment about the old man claiming to have insomnia but was sound asleep and could not be awaked. If one end of the train car was being watched and the thief was not seen, then it was obvious that the thief had to go into the baggage compartment.

She said doing "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby she was a few months pregnant. • @guesswho5122
      @guesswho5122 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, quite a bit. A keen ear, though have. Sydney Greenstreet (first movie role at the ripe age of 63, if I am not mistaken) is the best there is in Casablanca. Followed by Claude Rains and S.Z. Sakall. Admittedly, Bergman, Bogart, and Lorre aren't bad either.😉 Yet, Mr. Greenstreet, alias chucklin' Kasper Gutman, is even better in The Maltese Falcon.
      And as to the professor:
      "Round-faced and twinkling, George Cleveland had a 58-year career of stage, vaudeville, motion picture, radio and television acting. His first film was Edgar Wallace: Mystery Liner (1934) with Noah Beery and he went on to appear in 150 others. However, he is best remembered as Gramps on the original Lassie (1954) TV series" (source: IMDB).
      BTW As to this here film I keep wondering why on earth I'm watching it at all.😊

      Agree wholeheartedly about Hollywood's portrayal of minorities, especially blacks, back then. It was dehumanizing & plain ol' horrific. Cigarettes, on the other hand, were portrayed quite the opposite. Handled as they WERE back THEN. Surgeon General's warning didn't get affixed on cigarette pks till some 20+ years later, for instance. Chill out about cigarettes. I never have smoked but, back then, almost everyone smoked.
