Janis real last name was Dremann but people had trouble pronouncing it so she changed it to her grandmother's maiden name Carter
Note to self-- when your brakes fail, use the engine brake- i.e., put it in low gear, (standard AND automatic) even if it rips the transmission out. It won't come to a stop but it will slow it right down. Then turn the engine off -- might keep you from getting killed.

Framed should have been called Misguided ? Glen Ford in another great role, he was an exceptional actor from Gilda to The Big Heat with Lee Marvin, Glen Ford a lot better than Harrison for sure.

I don't want to include any spoilers since there aren't any in the comments, so I will speak cryptically. For me the movie was spoiled by the final switch by Paula at the climax, which was simply too unbelievable for me, as nothing in the film to that point would make that kind of switch sensible. Even the desire of a scriptwriter for a great twist must be justified by everything that happened beforehand. As for the acting, Glenn Ford is as great and cool as always, but Janis Carter did a pretty lousy acting job in my book.
I really enjoyed the movie. The woman who played the lead was very beautiful I wish you would have been able to act a little better. Glenn Ford really shined of course. Thank you for displaying it

Pretty sad that the woman betrayed herself for love of a man, who then betrayed her. Hollywood 1940s portrayed women as emotional slaves to the man they loved. Of course, she was evil, but I would prefer she brought about her undoing, because she was downright evil - not because she fell for the wrong guy.
Sorry to see Karen Morley in a 5 minute support bit. She was blacklisted and that sank her Hollywood career. Isn't there a cheap blonde in every dumpy bar in town?
I read about that when watching “Our Daily Bread.” HUAC did its damndest to ruin careers. Even tried to blacklist E. G. Robinson and Lucille Ball. What a terrible time in history.
Growing up, I only saw Glenn Ford as an older man. Never realized how absolutely beautiful he was as a young man. No wonder my MIL named my husband after him.

More intricate than an Alfred Hitchcock movie. Well done. Emotions and motives are all over the map.
