That's Lee J. Cobb playing the janitor. I remember Peter Lind Hayes from '50's tv. He sounded like Rudy Valee singing Your Time is My Time. This was so much fun, Pizza, thank you!!

A little IMDb work shows that Lee J. Cobb, who plays Tony the janitor, was less than 4 years older than Louise Stanley, who plays his daughter Maria. It was only Cobb's fourth movie role, and his first credited as Lee J. Cobb.

Wow, what a Great.Movie! I've watched quite a few during this 'lockdown' (several I had to deep six!) and this one - this one was especially good. Beautiful blonde, clever engineer with super-hearing - countered by the type 'A' big-shot sponsor. Clever writing and hilarious moments - laugh-out-loud more that once (the doorman admitting that he too was in love). Excellent, thanks so much for the upload - may the 🍕 sauce be with you! 💖
Peter Lind Hayes. I remember that name. Don’t think I ever saw him perform. He nailed Bing Crosby! Some of the impressionists of the 60s have to have been inspired by him! Great little film! 💛

I love these old black & whies. "Panties" on a censorship list. A fabulous look at our grand & greatgrand parents world. Men wore hats, skirts below the knee, etc. Film making techniques, plots, dialogues, how much fun to watch
David Smith ...well idk about that but I get the idea...my ‘39 Cadillac was overheated last summer and a lady in a brand new Camry stopped to compliment my car and say ‘they don’t make them like that anymore!’ ...as I stood in 98 degrees with boiling gasoline in a mechanical fuel pump as she’s in air conditioned comfort- so yeah- they sure don’t make them like they used to- but that’s just fine
the kid at the beginning of the film that got a balloon from Mr luck is in the film double exposure too as q copy boy I Don t know his name but he played Waldo in the little rascals films usually dating darla in front of alfalfa

I have a hard time watching new movies, too much unsolicited filth. I like these old movies, back when people were still sane and had moral standards.
You have to love these old B movie mysteries. They had a way with pacing that is lacking in most modern films-- 66 minutes and none of it wasted.
