      Actors in Hollywood at the time were groomed, in dressing, talking, walking, moving about by experts. What you see in a movie is an idealization of how people should be and behave, but not the actual general population's behavior.

    • @suebruce493
      @suebruce493 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      People get on TH-cam and make dumb comments about what they know nothing about that happened 90 years ago or a million years ago. Think about it, maybe wealthy and talented people invented recording devices and made films with family members. Hollywood was an orange grove at that time. People today push agendas to cover up crimes, to the point that it gets obvious.

    It is painful to watch Keye Luke play this particularly dumbed-down 'Oriental' character. In real life he was a professionally trained commercial artist of much note, and he produced a lot of the artwork and set designs used in the making of these, and other movies; like the wanted posters or the family member oil portraits. As well as being a tremendous talent in many arenas, he was well known as being hard working, a gentleman, well respected, and liked by all.

    Thanks for bringing these films to our homes. At age 69, todays movies are too violent for a "Leave it to Beaver" & Jerry Lewis Baby Boomer. I LOVE the black & white monochromatic media.

    This bank robbery scene.... Who the hell send witnesses out of the bank before the getaway? And even weirder, the folks who got ushered out of the bank... what? they couldn't call the cops? What the heck kind of bank heist was that? ha!

    Dick Purcell plays the "heavy" here. He also played Dick Tracy although Ralph Byrd is more well-known in the role. Apparently, crime does pay.

    It's like travelling back in time, moving history, how cool would it be to have had movies in medieval times,or the Romans!

    Yeh, Jean Parker, don't think I'd seen her before. Very cute and very good. She reminds me a lot of the young Mary Martin.

      At first I thought she looked like a young Phyllis Coats in the Superman TV series in the first season then later played by Noel Neill then red the credits at the end.

    Did anyone recognise Milburn Stone from Gunsmoke? Otherwise, apart from too much darkness, not a bad little film. England, September, 2023.
