A guy in the neighborhood had a 68 GTX 440 metallic forest green white top convertible white interior,man that was the most beautiful car I’ve ever seen .
Back in the day , 1969 , I was in my final year in high school and street raced one of many strong cars , ironically two of the cars you have featured were my favorites , first one being Richie Brown's 69 428 cobra jet coup 4 speed red second one being Jimmy Rodriguez, s 69 Cornett 440 factory 6 pack convertible , blue with white top and a 3 speed torque flute . I have always remembered the Friday night at Pittsburgh' Pa. s Famous Varsity house when I road shot gun in Richies 428 CJ. running best of 3 with Jimmys 440 , it was close but we beat Jimmy in the first two . Those were the days when you race any of the top phony cars or intermediates on the uncluttered streets pretty much right off the show room floors .
LOVE IT, Agreed I would put that tape across the dash. Excellent upgrades cam shaft carburetor factory ram air. Car sounds really good oh my God the car was really gutted when he took that project over. Very clean well done restoration.
In 1971 I had a Cuda AAR and my buddy had a 69 440 R/T Convertible in B5 Blue. We were stationed in Mayport, Florida at the time. We street raced a couple of times and I would always jump him by several car lengths and easily beat him for about an eighth of a mile, but when the R/T got rolling, it reeled me in. I can't help but wonder where this particular car came from. Mainly because I wonder if it's the same car my buddy had. If it's originally from the Jacksonville area, it could be the same car.
Our mother bought a new '69 coronet coupe in Fall of '68. She had traded in her '63 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible for it which was her first new car in 1963. I can't seem to remember exactly which Coronet model it was because I was only 4 but it had two taillights that were segmented into 3 sections each. It had some scoops and looked very sporty but it wasn't this one. It was a blue hardtop, same shade as this model. Maybe it was like one of the sportier models below this one and less busy looking.

Those B-body ragtops were way heavier than an AAR, but once they got rolling, that 440 was a monster.

Magnum 500 came on all 68 cars to the fancy Wheels
Should have kept it B5. The stock colors in '69 were great.
On the plus side, he didn’t put 22 inch wheels on it.
