Hi Gemily, Incredible, long term persistence, is what "solves" this problem. Willingness to listen to new ideas, even Optometrists, can be the final step in the solution. More power to you!
I too have noticed that patching is the key to successful equalizing, otherwise if you only ever use binocular vision the stronger eye tends to do all the work. I would say both -1.75/-1.75 and -1.5/1.75 seem fine, it depends on if you want to equalize now or later. Personally I would go with the equalized one in order to have the same diopter ratio as natural vision.
Going from -2.00 to -0.75 is easy. Going without glasses does the trick. The hard part starts from -0.75 onwards... My suggestion: 1) Just ditch glasses. (or wear glasses for 2 hrs per day). 2) Rather than patch one eye for long periods, instead patch both eyes (one at a time) for short periods (5 min per eye). And do this twice or thrice a day. 3) Yes, reading texts (books or screens) without glasses (from 60-90 cm distance) is also very effective in going from -2.00 to -0.75.
The thing with your left eye is interesting. I have the same. It is as if the left eye always adjusts to the right eye - as in always seeing a ittle less well in the distance than the right eye (though if I close my right eye and focus in the distance with my left eye only, things do clear up). I have decided to accept this as long as the difference isn't that much. Isn't this in line with occular dominance anyways?
Yes, actually it is fine to have this diff. It is just annoying, when the "weaker" eye does not seem to react to stimulus, even though the "stronger" does nice and quick. Causing the diff to grow (initially). And this can cause "felt" plateaus. And prob even a lot of confusion for the visual cortex to get sorted. For me it was the same. I had a super lazy right eye, which simply takes ages to take up stimulus from a reduced normalized. One month without almost any measurable movement. This one needs to be addressed somehow... either with patching or super patience :D
Hi Gemily. The variation in blur measurements throughout the day is frustrating me. For some reason, the measurements aren't that good first thing in the compared to those done during the day. I'm starting my day without wearing my glasses and don't wear them until I need to jobs outside the house. I haven't purchased a pair of differentials yet because I'm waiting on feedback from you about my comment about goal setting in your first video this year. Listening to your videos inspire me to keep trying Jake's method for going without glasses. Keep up the good work and enjoy your new surroundings.
I currently wear -3 and -2... First they were blurry... Now the -3 (left eye) is perfect but the right eye (-2.5 actual power) it kinda fluctuates.. sometimes clearer sometimes blurry
Do your eyes get smaller when u wear glasses all the time? Suddenly my friends around started saying my eyes are smaller than before whenever I take my glasses off
I’m literally so confused. Did you use differential glasses? For your differential glasses did you have a positive prescription even tho ur original is a negative?
Because I am at about -2 for my vision, and wearing -1.75 for my normalised, I do have a -0.5 pair of differentials, but I rarely use them now. I wouldn't start intro using plus lens use until I was at least -1.25. Careful with plus lenses - if you have very low myopia, a little plus lens use can help a lot, but a lot of plus lens use can screw things up.
Reduced my strength to zero Diopters.
Jake is right.
Prevention is possible.
Gemily,

I like the way you do these graphics, showing the negative power of each set of glasses that you are using.
I understand your frustration. Being stuck stinks :(
On the suggestions note I dropped that on the forum.
Thanks, Reannon. I am excited by the idea that "unstuck" may have arrived. It was quite slow going for a bit there.
Thank you so much for sharing your progress!

So glad to hear your are improving with patching and no glasses around the house. That's what I've been doing too :)
Congrats 🥳 again!! What a left eye story I hope the left eye is getting there

Excellent Ra,
Now get a Snellen, and confirm reading 3/4 letters at 20 feet.
DMV requirement.
That is ssuccess.
@@otiebrown9999 wow i see you everywhere in these eyesight related vids
Hi Gem,
You did a great job.
Even today, I work to retain my 20/20 vision.
Jake is correct about reducing minus lens, if possible.
Happy to see you're still improving. :D

Why don't you reduce to -1.50 in your left eye that might do the trick/

How you managed screen Time . Did using screens is prohibited in Jakes's method .

Are you sure you aren't making things too complicated? Anyway good luck what ever you decide to do.🙂

@@GemilyMez Hi Gem, The plus is used to go from 20/60 to 20/20. I must be very clear about that issue.
Thank you!
Why are you still uses differential?
