    Great video! I'm planning to go with the Torqhead 24x on my '95 Z28. I've been researching it for a while now, I thought it was more expensive than that! Thanks for mentioning the price of everything. Your Impala looks badass man!💪

    I have a 96 i bought this kit for that has fully ported heads and intake along with long tube headers and other goodies. Before getting it tuned it had 239 hp with 273 torque. Now i have 307 hp and 359 torque.

      Assume no aftermarket camshaft? FBO LT1 SS's will make around 280-300WHP and 330TQ+ with a good tune and 1.6 roller rockers. A lot of cammed cars will make 330WHP+ without a ton of effort

      Yikes fully ported heads intake Bolton's and a tune only made 300rwhp. That actually sucks. Lol

    Does the pcm work with the your check engine light? Or does it just stay on now? Also does the computer change your mileage as it would for a newer vehicle?

    I guess its hard to say, but now that you have done the swap is the performance worth it rather than an OEM opti?

    • @bom_LS2_gto

      Just on the added tuning and timing adjustment abilities, not to mention that if a crankshaft position sensor for the Torqhead were to fail, it's exponentially easier to replace a bad sensor in these versus an Opti. Wouldn't think there'd be a huge gain on a bone stock or very lightly modified car like mine, but I'd absolutely prefer this long term if you'll be modifying it any further.

    I bought the signal kit thinking that its all i needed turns out that i need the pcm and ignition coil rail kit too, and now im contemplating on selling my 93 vette instead on dropping more money into it

      Why sell it… you clearly had a vision for it and your almost there. I’m putting one on my 383 stroker 95 impala but I’m just taking my time… it’s a project at the end of the day enjoy your corvette my man a few more bucks n your good

    If I use this kit on my 1996 Caprice Classic 5.7 will it require a tune or something?

    • @bom_LS2_gto
      @bom_LS2_gto  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @LilB901 if the car is completely mechanically stock and unmodified, no. Should be a plug and play for a bone stock car.

    I have a 1996 impala, been thinking about buying the 24x kit, do you personally think it was worth it?

    • @bom_LS2_gto
      @bom_LS2_gto  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely worth it, even as a stock car it drives world's better. Also not a pain to get to wires anymore.

    How long did it take u to install the kit bro? And would this eliminate opti spark issues?

    • @bom_LS2_gto
      @bom_LS2_gto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Install working on a few odd days here and there was maybe 6 hours total, but I did a LOT of cleaning and back flushing every inch of the cooling system. Just spend the time reading up on it, there's plenty of good documentation out there for modified cars

      @@bom_LS2_gto awesome so with this would Eliminate the opti issue right? My car keeps stalling and the optis arnt as good as they used to be

    Hi. Thinking about buying one for my stock impala.
    anything I should know before I purchase one for my 96 SS? I'm new to this and I could use all the advice I can get. TIA For your help.

      Definitely source OE coils from somewhere else to cut a couple dollars. Absolutely make sure you've got the right pulley and hub pulling tools and installers as well. Bust out the steel wool and scuff pads to clean up any corrosion on the crankshaft snout, and wire brushes (preferably on a drill) with degreaser for water pump gaskets. Just like painting or cooking, it's all in the thorough prep work!

    What valve covers do you use? I have a 4th Gen F-Body.

      Won't work, these are Gen1 SBC covers. They're from Proform, just their cast powder coated ones that'll fit with my Torqhead alternator

      @zelly1327 Kinda apprehensive about newer AFR heads, local machine shops have had casting issues being low quality, seen several sets crack first hand. Maybe there was a couple bad sets, but man they flow good

      @zelly1327 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ yeah I got these brand new like 10 yrs ago so yeah I know todays products are more what your mentioning I’ve heard the same but these perform well they’re the 195cc

    • @bom_LS2_gto
      @bom_LS2_gto  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @zelly1327 Happened across the industry from Covid, prices went up and quality tanked. Even on small stuff like rad hoses. The fresh set I had put in the car around the time I installed the TH now has a bulging lower, and it wasn't even a cheap knock off brand. Perfect Continental/Gates hose down the drain, so back to RockAuto we go 🤷‍♂️

    411 computer?

    • @bom_LS2_gto
      @bom_LS2_gto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, the off the shelf Torqhead proprietary 0411 ECM. Wanted a setup that I wouldn't have to completely redo the harness for it at this point, though I would like to pull the shortblock out and reharness everything while refinishing the engine bay at some point.
