First time in half a decade my car has left the tax riddled hellscape of Illinois. Best event of my life, never seen so many Aussie cars in one place. If you're able to ever make it out to the event, DO IT. Travis and his crew put on a bitchin event, not a single let down to be seen. Rare colors, obscure options, fantastic raffle drawings, great food, and the best people out there.

Great choice on the spoiler, awesome owner, I got the same one a year ago and he dropped it off at my doorstep.
@rcesar5071 seemed like a good group when I was asking specifics about the spoiler, packaging lacked pretty bad. They just put the spoiler in a box that was a pretty snug fit, no packaging or protection aside from that. I'm only 3ish hours away from Bloomington in east-central IL so not a terribly far journey for something to happen

I still have an OG Langness spoiler in the box. Personally, prefer the Oldenburg Spoiler.
@henrynwatu8132 it's the single most fulfilling thing life has to offer. Little guy just turned 5 weeks old recently and it's been a riot so far! The Langness would be worth some decent money since that's still a sought after piece. Oldenburgs used to trade for a pretty good amount before they reissued them recently too.

Where did you get those valve covers from?
@@Jay-mg6ih Proform, but you'll need a Torqhead alternator to run them.
What size it the red one? I have mines out now and can’t figure it out,not a 74 or 194.

this thing is nice dude. i would love to own one of these. i’m thinking of supercharging my 2009 challenger srt8. should i do it?
@that6spdsrt8 I think the 6.1's might be the fragile modern Mopar V8, but they can certainly make steam with 6-7PSI. Local friend just put either a Whipple or a Maggie on his 6.1 Charger, made good numbers and drives great from what I heard. I'd say yes because everything deserves a blower, and they sound gangster. Just be sure you have the supporting fuel system and a good tuner on hand!
@@bom_LS2_gto that’s a bet. pretty sure it’s the 6.4 that’s fragile with boost. gonna upgrade the crank and headers and go for about 9psi
@that6spdsrt8 wouldn't go nuts on a SBE engine, but I think I remembered incorrectly between the 6.1 and 6.4, though I'm not a big Mopar enthusiast. Could still certainly throw a blower setup on it, bump power but keep it reasonable for longevity on a SBE car.

Hey man, do you use the factory GTO master cylinder and brake booster? My master is leaking and the booster I’m sure isn’t far behind.
@chrissanford2466 sure do! No issues thankfully, know other guys that have randomly had OE masters die on stock brakes or a BBK.
@@bom_LS2_gto I can’t seem to find a factory replacement or find someone who can rebuild it. Should I upgrade my hardware and in this case my master and booster to the CTS-V setup? Is it possible?
@chrissanford2466 Josh Moore @ East Coast Holden Parts might be able to source you one new if they're out there. Otherwise I'd bet used is your best bet. Check AZ Cycle Parts, Olmstead Automotive, or FParts on ebay since they seem to get some lower mile cars in to part out. Don't believe our masters/boosters are cross platform, they're very likely platform specific to our cars sadly
@@bom_LS2_gto I will check there. If I can’t get someone to rebuild it or get one there then I give up. I’ve checked everywhere. I’m not gonna have a choice but to start doing some custom work and convert over to something different/better.
You’ve owned that Impala for a bunch of years, invested a bunch of time and money.. curious why so few miles on it?
@brandonschmidtke3662 It sat for a year or so with a nuked transmission, then the opti began to slowly fail over maybe two seasons. Spent a lot of time while I worked on the GTO. Wasn't also really sure what should happen with the car, so some time was needed to decide. Plus, my work requires a full size truck every day, so my time/ability to drive it is hampered, especially with Illinois winters and salt. Try to save the experience for nice days, events, or weekend cruises. Put almost 1500 miles on it this year, double what was put on it in the past 6 years.
It's a shame you guys didn't get the 4 door Pontiac GTO - Commodore VX. Love ya car btw.

Gto's never came with the 427, or am I just stupid, either way sick car.
@OneManSpacecraft never did from factory, you're correct. This has a Dart based engine, 4" stroke and a 4.125" bore to make it a 427/7L now. Definitely doable with a factory cast GM block, but would require aftermarket sleeves.
Does the check engine light come on if you accelerate that hard? Or go at those speeds?
@MuscleMan909 Uh.. Don't remember any CEL, but the cluster + interior electronics went to Bohnam Customs. Jeff turned on the factory integrated shift light, which only turned on at RPM (I think 7k on the tach), and alters the display screen to show "shift up". Jeff's awesome to work with, stands behind his work and has plenty of options to suit your taste.
@@bom_LS2_gto I’ve been debating between what I want to get soon. It’s either the 6.0 ls2 or 6.1 srt8. And holy hell these gto’s pack on power like crazy. I do want to add an extra 100 hp to the gto and make it 500 hp to the wheel
@MuscleMan909 If you're looking for dollar value per hp without going to something substantially newer like an S550/Coyote truck, an LS is hard to beat for simplicity naturally aspirated. Plus boost options like an LSA are so much value for the buck that it's really difficult to find a better option for most of us. My main issue with the Hemis is limited parts availability/cost, and the community around here of Dodge guys has basically ruined our local car community. Takeover activities in a decent sized town of east central IL is very frowned upon by both locals and guys in the groups here. Basically been uninvited by C&C and most of the meets here.

Had a 2006 gto here in the U.S. It had some giddy up. People were surprised. They didn't know what it was. LOL! Loved it big time. Blue with Blue leather. Wish I kept it.
@craigzz123 pretty sure blue on blue was a decently rare spec for any year, hopefully you grab another soon before they age enough to pick up in price!
According to one website, only 125 were produced with the combo of impulse blue with blue leather, automatic and 18" rims. Drove it on Woodward (detroit area) quite a bit.
@@craigzz123 I think the widely accepted production numbers are usually on Mark Quitter Racing's website, but that figure sounds right. The diehard blue guys REALLY search for the blue/blue 18" cars if they're original.

@dsmith8859 I snuck into the north side of this elevator's lot with the superintendent's permission to park on their rail. Which was weird since I'd spent 14 hours there earlier loading the train sitting immediately in front of my car, and then got a front row view because of my job 😂

Awesome. I saw probably 20 holdens in the parking lot of Champaign, illinois meijer. They were on their way to OIM. I took a picture to share with some of the Australian car groups im in and they were impressed. That SS is amazing.
