@Riorozen Ikora and zavala seemed relevant from what i vaguely remember from destiny 1, but in The witch queen, the only D2 expac i played (Fuck bungie for not letting new players play the older expacs for the story btw) they really did seem completely useless. is that the same in lightfall, and the rest of D2 leading up to witch queen?

I’ve been saying for years, we need more Drifter content or content with The Drifter. He’s such an interesting character. The man has seen and experienced both light and dark and now just drifts. He one of the only characters that actually feel like a character, with his opinions and takes on the world. He has a interesting back story, being involved with the Shadows of Yor, The Nine, the warlords. Please we need more Bungie 😅
Also one of the few characters that expect you to just be here when guns are needed, wanna be a guardian who cuts down even if it means drifter himself? Why not but play gambit a couple times before that, or did you want to become an eldritch being with light corrupted darkness roaming the galaxy and destroying the world, sure but play same gambit before the stars flicker out

I think the Praxic warlock had him pegged; he's a lot of show. "Lets be badguys", but he never denied her statement about trying to pull the emissary back from The Nine. "Embrace the Darkness", but he's given away a lot of tech and opportunities to the vanguard and those that think him unsavory if it means a chance at survival. "I can hear them scream", but he still remembers the soft words of a little girl hundreds of years ago. You are right, i think he hates the traveler, but I think he hates the fact he's still human and has all those little faults in him more.
Drifter at his core is a man who tried to live a normal life, and has done everything to reject his destiny. He's fascinating beyond belief. His rejection of his own power and responsibilities has led to tragedies and heartbreak, left him a man running. I love that he and Eris have come together, as we have presently heard the influence that he has had on Eris (that he has made her want to feel joy again, to lighten up and let go of some of her pain), and I hope he is the focus next season or the following and we get some insight into how being near her may change him. Perhaps she may finally allow him to feel a sense of purpose and desire to fight for something other than himself, again. Maybe he'll forgive himself and move on, too. Whoever is writing the Dark Vanguard side of the story is doing an amazing job. Not that the light side is slacking (I absolutely love Crow's development and Zavala is finally starting to become interesting), but the shady boy side is just my thing.
Rare to hear Drifter ever acknowledge he’s upset by something. He always plays everything down or plays it off altogether, rarely getting too personal or honest, so to hear him cut the bullshit and drop the act is quite telling. This old weasel acts the way he does for a reason; holding aces and keeping secrets, playing all sides and looking for the best angle is the only reason he made it this far. Or so he probably thinks. Viscerally, he knows the Light keeps him alive, but he’s not naïve enough to completely trust in strange women lying in the bottoms of ponds distributing swords, so to speak.
This is by far one of the best destiny “cutscenes” I’ve seen. You’re incredibly talented, I would have absolutely believed it was official if I hadn’t already heard the audio.

Drifter always feels like one of those characters who deserves to show up more, but logically won't because getting too involved with a God-Killers mission to fight an eldritch entity that existed before reality kinda goes against his goal of not dying.
Totally blown away by the quality and how seamlessly this would fit into the game. It's clear you've put in a crazy amount of effort. Seriously well done!

I really hope Bungie gives a job being an animator, you got the transitions and how color fills in to characters on point to how they do it in-game officially. This is so damn cool! Idk why Bungie doesn’t do more cutscenes, they always are a joy to watch and bring so much life to the stories associated.
