- So the VW Golf 8 R, at this point for me personally it has solidified itself as the benchmark VW Audi group hothatch, even compared to the RS3. Okay I know that sounds crazy but hear me out, I think VW has had so much fun developing this car, I mean things like the performance pack that gets you the big wing, Drift mode, Nürburgring mode, and the bigger shift paddles. So many littles details that just end up making the car so fun and so cool, and that’s why for me it’s the best.

Proud owner of a 2023 8R in the exact same spec bought shortly after your initial 8R review. 7 months, 4000kms into ownership, and absolutely loving it.
Just a heads up, to get the car to bounce off the rev limiter, the car needs to be in either drift or nurburgring mode.
To get more pronounced dsg farts and pops and bangs , the car needs to be in sport mode, not race mode. I'm not sure exactly why. Assume they merely targeted better efficiency in the way the car expels exhaust gases in the more aggressive race mode.
None the less keep up the great work.

Volkswagen needs to step up their interior build quality, the golf's full of 'cheap plastics and those capacitive buttons makes things worse.
I think the exhaust needs to be done with some pop and bangs. It has no emotion like this.

Your hands are stretched out all the way, you should move the steering wheel closer to you, because when your hands are stretched out like that it will be harder for you to control the vehicle in case of an emergency.
Driving in a quiet neighborhood, need to get the best angle for the video.

Yah noh after hearing one that has an Akrapovic exhaust, this one sounds horrible compared to the akra yirrr. But then eveb the akra isnt as good as the 7.5. Even stock.
