I had a mk7 Gti dsg, now a 23’ manual civic si, I’m looking to get a mk8 dsg now. Of course it’s always fun to bang gears but like you said daily driving starts to suck.
It gets old. And traffic has only gotten worse here over the last few years. If I had more room to hang onto a manual I would as a weekend car. But zipping around in a quick DSG is still a lot of fun!
I have a manual mk8 and love it but some times I do find my self still questioning if I should have got a dsg I will always love driving manual but sometimes a dsg would be nice
DSG all the way for me! Had it on my previous Mk6 GTI and my current stage 1+ Mk7.5R. Best of both worlds. I drive in manual mode 95% of the time using the paddle shifters. Plus the 7th gear in my R gets me 32-33mpg hwy at 70mph on level roads 👍
I would say I use the paddles the majority of the time like you. Still gives me a little bit of that “connection” and is so much more fun when driving spiritedly that way. I really only use Auto when I’m bringing my oil up to temp before having any Real fun.
@@JeffScroggin They are heavier than stock and most noticeable to me when braking at higher speeds. But I love the look and fitment of these so much I don’t let it bother me all that much. A lot of people hate the weight of the Prismas (roughly 30 lbs vs. 26 stock)
@@JeffScroggin I looked for a long time for used ones and they were all overpriced, beat up and with tires I didn’t need. Decided to just buy new from a dealer instead.
Nice ride

I’ve always heard how good the DSGs are and am happy I went with it. Still miss having a manual every once in awhile though!

Maybe my favorite looking wheels I've seen on the MK8 so far. Are they heavy? Do you notice it?

@@rjbaldwin_ Did you buy them new or find someone selling some?
