  • It's late September and Summer is in the rear-view mirror. Join me and my good friend, Captain Justin Manners of ‪@SaltyToadFishing‬ as we make our way upriver on the hunt for Speckled Trout. Water is still hovering around the mid 70's but initial reports from other Captains have claimed the Trout have already moved into their Fall patterns even though the temps haven't really begun to cool off. We're going to give these ocean fish a break and knock the rust off on fishing with light weight soft plastics and MirroLures MR18s. It felt weird the first few minutes, but after that first thump, it was like riding a bicycle. It may have been a minute, but you don't forget how it works! if you're new to the channel, welcome. If you're a returning subscriber, thank you as always. I listed below what exact combo I used today.
    Rod/Reel: Fenwick HMX 7' Med Fast paired with a Daiwa BG 2500
    Line: 15lb Braid with a 15lb Fluro Leader (24'' of leader)
    Lure: 1) MirroLure MR18 in the Mardi Gras Chartreuse in the Broken Glass Patter
    Lure: 2) Pure Flats P-Mint Slick Jr on a 1/8oz ball head jig
    Water Depth/Clarity: 6-7', Stained & Brackish Water. Minimal current
    Enjoy it yall and get out there and fish! Tight lines.

    Sup dudes!! Y’all popped up in my TH-cam feed- I live in Jacksonville, NC! While I was watching your video I’m like, “I know that bridge” then I looked at your profile and it said y’all was out of Swansboro and now I know for sure y’all was fishing a well known creek bridge on New River!! Nice work btw, and great content. Needless to say, I subbed your channel. ✌🏾

    Good job rich, I'm starting to get the itch myself. It's wild I've been picking some nice specs up off a pier in the ocean and they're definitely a lighter color. They seem to be a little more rounded and chunkier too.

      What’s up man! Yeah you can tell those creek vs ocean trout for sure. Wild how the color stains them! Take it easy man.

      Imma be honest. I don’t think they’re there now. Water was 74 2 weeks ago. It was 84 yesterday afternoon from what I was told. If I had to guess they moved back close to the inlet. In deeper water.

      Well 2 weeks ago it was 6-8’ water was like 74. Now it’s back up to 83 and they’ve moved somewhere else. I assume back to deeper water

    • @SlackTidesFishing
      @SlackTidesFishing  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I don’t. We were in new River. With all of the rain the past few weeks I’m sure they’ve moved back closer to the new River inlet where the water had more salinity
