The anime adaption took some questionable creative decisions that weren't in the manga... funnily not Jujus bathroom incident, that was a panel by panel XD But the very beginig was way over the top. In the manga Marin just bumped into Wakana by playfighting with her friends. That's why she actually started talking to if he's ok. A minor change but way more relatable.
