It is a fantastic wholesome show with one solitary scene that I question why they included it in episode 6. But the series doesn't slide into that scene being the norm and goes back to being wholesome and feel good right after that and never goes over that line ever again. Just saying this so you don't see that scene and question the direction of the show from then onward.
My best guess for the initial fall is that Nowa - the twintailed girl, who's called out later as being unexpectedly strong - was talking about cheerleader throws, and decided to demonstrate by launching Marin into the air, one of those "let me grab your foot and chuck you across the room" deals. At least, she's the one who apologized.
well in the manga she just stumbles into the desk (Her back hitting it a bit) Because nowa pushed her a little. But they wanted to make it dramatic for the anime xd

Marin and Gojo are both fantastic characters, you'll find out! The fanservice is outmatched by the wholesomeness, and Cloverworks knows how to juxtapose the two. They've made a bunch of cute shows at this point; Horimiya, Bunny Girl Senpai, Spy x Family... you'll have a good time with this one
i so agree with you! though, i wouldnt call it a proper "fanservice", since fanservice is when they add unnecessary camera angles on things like boobs or butts that add nothing to the plot, they are just for the horny fans to look at. here in this anime, the ecchi scenes do serve a purpose because we all see them from the point of view of Gojo, a guy at the age when puberty hits, whos a loner and never had a contact with another person and especially not with a girl. thats why i think despite the ecchi, the ecchi is the actual part of the plot and not just there for the fans! and i really hope they will check the anime you mention because all three of them are just so gooooood!!
A detail ive always liked is Marin is at the blackboard explaining anime stuff and is doing it at a level that would actually be somewhat unusual to how people perceive her and Gojo not only doesnt notice because he doesnt know, hes also wrapped up in his own shortcomings that he doesnt acknowledge what shes talking about to begin with

Did you enjoy your introduction to our Bean Queen Marin? She's so sweet and endearing, and what she does for Wakana is so good for him, pulling him out of his self-imposed seclusion. But you'll see how he's also good for her. In fact, while you might think that she's the male fantasy character (and I mean, a bit, definitely), but because the mangaka dipped her hand into cosplay for this series, the fantasy character is actually Wakana Gojo, for reasons you'll see later. But for now everyone can enjoy that these two have things they're both passionate about.
Fun Fact: Kitagawa Marin's seiyuu the lovely Suguta Hina is the guitarist for the real-life all-female rock band called Morfonica in the BanG Dream! franchise where she voiced another gyaru character named Kirigaya Touko. I know I’m fighting against the tide on this one but I think it’s crazy that people put off watching OPs because of spoilers. Like, the studio makes the OP to get you excited about the show you’re about to watch! It literally got made to be watched, so the viewer can be teased and delighted about what’s to come!

I reccomend going back and checking out some scenes or compilations on youtube for the dub of the show. Its really good and the woman who voices Kitagawa is LeeandLie, a vtuber/youtuber song cover singer.
Something to keep in mind: considering his family business, Gojo is very old fashioned & conservative. The casual clothing he wears at home is also very traditional. Someone like Marin is truly from a different planet. This series could be described as ecchi/wholesome. Looking forward to more.
This is a bit of a spoiler for way way far ahead in the manga, but eventually it’s revealed that that little girl that was mean to Gojo about the hina dolls only said what she said because she was looking forward to him moving in next door to her with his cousin’s family after his parents died and being able to spend more time with him. However, after he took a shine to the dolls while visiting his grandpa’s shop, it was decided that he would move in with his grandpa because the dolls were the first time that he brightened up emotionally after the funeral. Unfortunately, the little girl was hurt as she viewed the hina dolls as taking away her friend from her, so she lashed out, and when she shows back up as a high schooler in a couple of recent chapters, she is extremely remorseful and apologizes to Gojo about the way she acted.
Please do the Kaguya sama movie. It is surely canon and is also divided into 4 episodes like parts with their own op and ed. So it will be convenient too

I enjoy Rom-coms more than Com-roms which is why certain popular shows fall flat for me and why it can be hard to properly recommend shows to people. Since even though they may both be 'Rom-coms' the difference of focus changes a ton on people's enjoyment
Light/Medium spoiler alert! I'm at chapter 105 in the manga and we just found out who that girl in the beginning was. CH 105! So there is alot of story still being told.
This is a fun one! Maybe not as fun as Kaguya (nothing is, in my opinion) but pretty damn good! Also, there's something in common with Kaguya, that very few romcoms have,: The "Shared MC" thing; Most romcoms have the boy POV of chasing the girl, or the other way around.. But DuD, just like Kaguya, has POV from both characters, so it feels more real, and not just a one way thing!
