let me know what you think of this vid (I know the game recording is bad. Going to try to upload and record in 30fps in future videos. Used to shoot 24fps)
TBH I think the 3050 6gb only really makes sense with the low profile editions. If you're not space constrained by a small form-factor case, there are muchhhhhh better options. If you have a sufficient PSU (the optiplex 7020 has a 290w PSU), graphics cards with a TDP of 130 or lower work amazingly with a SATA to 6+2 pin adapter. For a build with better performance than a 3050, you could buy an optiplex 7020 with an i7 for less than $90, a sata SSD for around $20, and a 1660 super for around $100 (plus the sata to pcie adapter and new thermal paste n stuff). So for around 250 bucks you get a very capable gaming machine that beats the 3050 soundly!
well, don't forget about fsr 3 frame generation. I haven't actually done a whole lotta research, I just kinda lazily googled it so feel free to fact check me. But google says that GTX cards have some FSR 3.0, but it isn't really fully supported. Meanwhile the RTX 3050 has full support, and in addition to that, it supports DirectX Ultimate, so it's a little bit better for the long run.
@@JohnSmith-hs4li true, I've never really been sold on frame generation though. I don't like the idea of interpolating frames just for the game to "appear" smoother, I would rather the game process smoother

I know for a fact that interpolation SUCKS ASS for normal animation, but I don't think it applies to video games as much. Saw a guy on TH-cam play back footage of a game with frame generation at .25x speed and I didn't notice any artifacts or strange timing
@@JohnSmith-hs4li frame gen apparently is really good for singleplayer games, especially CPU limited ones on higher end hardware. I don't know how well it applies to lower end cards since their base frame rate wouldn't be as good I have a 3050 so I'll have to try it out!
🙂 thanks for the review, basically this replaces the 1050thai and 1650, i imagine it will run a little better or worse depending what cpu and motherboard we are talking about all the way back to Core2Duo

the card is not meant to be good it's meant to replace the ageing 1650 in terms of budget GPUS therefor it serves it purpose. it has more Vram then the 1650 and newer tech. Sure should you buy it no but it has a spot in the market.
