I have watched a ton of "help" videos like these and usually come away with as many new questions as answers. But MARCOS' audio & video & explanations are concise, yet CLEAR and effective. And that is KEY to good instruction. His is the ONLY FCP channel I have actually subscribed to. Thank you, sir, for your effort and for sharing! I look forward to more.
This is the best advice ever! I'm applying this to my current project and it's making my audio at the cut so much smoother...smooth like BUTTA!!! I will forever do this now, so worth it!
If you look down at your notes and then come up again to start talking with your head in a slightly different position will the change of composition on zoom, take out the slight head movement. I use Vegas and if I change the shot composition in key frames by zooming in it slightly reduces quality so I guess you don’t do it too much, like in your clip.
Awsome this whole editing thing is so hard i got work in a few hours and im here learning how to improve my edits I can't wait to try these tips hopefully I not just me but we all can reach our goals of entertaining people with the tips you provided.
This is great man! I learned something new today, I never thought about making one cut and then pull the clips to where I need them to be...I was making two cuts and then letting the clips come together. Your way is ten times better!
Chad, you should check out my videos on how to edit faster with keyboard shortcuts. I actually use Option + [ to speed up my editing. Thanks dude for the feedback earlier!
Is this done in Built in editing program in a laptop computer, or is this done in software you buy, or is this done in TH-cam studio? Right now all i have to film is a Amazon Fire tablet and nothing can be edited. I miss having a decent Windows laptop. I used that and a clipon webcam to film. And i did basic storyboard editing
@@MarcosRochaTV thanks man i think many people were having trouble finding this on youtube cuz hella people were posting replies saying that the video wasnt what they thought. youre a legend
Well...I didn't notice too much of a difference in the two intros. In fact, had the bad intro was the one you only showed I wouldn't have noticed or had been bothered by.
I wish I would have taken the time to research this stuff a long time ago. I started learning some of these tricks just from trial and error but I can't wait to watch more of your videos to be able to improve my video quality. Thank you for the tips!
Thanks for the tips man. Simple and straightforward solutions, looking to experiment with these on my channel. I have definitely noticed that sometimes I nail cuts, but many times there are also some more abrupt transitions in there. I tend to just focus on the flow of audio and go from there. Anyways, Keep up the good work. God bless.
Bro! Such an awesome clip! Really loving your channel and all of your content! I'm new to TH-cam and editing so appreciate you! Keep up the incredible work!
Thank you for the clear video and I plan to start doing this in the future. I played around with one of my already posted videos to see how it would look different than before and it was night and day better. Moving forward, my videos will be so much smoother. Thanks
Are you using a different video editor? I can `t find Jump Cuts, when I try to edit my videos, the only options showed is to add music, to blur image and to add elements, nothing else!! There are no icons like the ones showed on the top of this video images or index. Could you help me? By the way, are you Brazilian?
Damn! Thank you! I just finished shooting and editing my first talking head video and it took me 3 days! Tons of jumpcuts! I'll use your tips from my next video. :)
it all depends on how frequently you use it, I feel like I'm at an advanced intermediate level and took me about 6 months. Sometimes I forget things I've learned, how to customize and manipulate certain aspects....I'm always learning new things.
Hey Marcos, great video! PS: Also exzellent audio quality. What‘s the level of your background music (in dB) and the level of your voice? I‘m always struggling to find the right balance. Thanks in advance!
I have trouble deciding exactly where to make the slice. I usually zoom way in and go right up to the very frame the sound of the voice starts and back up 1-4 frames. I have tried cutting 1, 2, 3, and 4 frames before the sound. Is there a perfect place to make the cut every time? Like right on the exact frame the voice starts on or how many frames before. Same with making the cut after the voice. If you leave two frames before and two frames after, that is a 4 frame delay between the sound. but if you don't leave any space, then it may sound like one long sentence or even tighter between words. As you can tell, I'm confused, Please just tell me how many frames before the sound and after and I will do it that way every time from now on. lol Also, how do you decide when to use a J cut and when to use an L cut? Thanks for the awesome video!
Thank for the video it’s really like always. My question for you is why when you speed up a piece of video and for some I lose it when I apply speed 2x or 4x etc on the next parts close to it why it does that?
Really useful thanks! Any thoughts on "how often" to do a jump cut or acceptable ranges? E.g. up to every 10 seconds, or a shorter timespan? And would you stick to just jumping between TWO different zooms/scales most of the time and occasionally use a third? (As I think applies to your video here.)
awesome video
exactly what I needed!

This was super helpful!! I wa using b-roll to cover the cuts, but sometimes the speaker needed to be visible, so this is huge help! THANK YOU!
I just made the switch from Premiere Pro CS6 to Final Cut Pro x and your videos are a massive help, thank you!

Useful tips. Thank you. Would you recommend using the flow transition to get even cleaner transitions between jump cuts?
Not really, it doesnt work many of the time.
put on my tv
cast to tv
How long did it take you guys to get really good with final cut? I seemed to have gotten the hand of it in a month but nothing crazy

Hey Marcos, great video! PS: Also exzellent audio quality. What‘s the level of your background music (in dB) and the level of your voice? I‘m always struggling to find the right balance. Thanks in advance!

Marcos Rocha Hey I’m still hoping that you would consider putting back a vlog. 😉
Thank for the video it’s really like always. My question for you is why when you speed up a piece of video and for some I lose it when I apply speed 2x or 4x etc on the next parts close to it why it does that?
there must be a cut in between. Everything that you want sped up has to be selected.
