It is sad, but Patricia died in October 2023, at age 25, from breast cancer. It's a horrible killer, and the rottentaker of so many beautiful and talented people who enrich our lives - as Patricia did for the thousands who loved her! I miss her.

Patricia with her heavenly voice should take you to heaven, but seeing her extraordinary beauty, one definitely wants to stay on earth, to continue contemplating her, and of course! .. listening to her! ♥♥♥

I personally participated in this concert, it's in a church in South Moravia. An amazing experience with great Patricia.

Yes I was lucky enough to be at this concert in Czechia. It was at a church in Postorno in the south east of the country. The venue was the Church of the Visitation. She and Angelina Jordan are the only two artists that I’ve travelled outside of the Uk recently to hear live.

Patricia could be worth travelling for. Angelina not. Watched Willighagen live though, several times, Nijmegen, South Africa..... first row centre.

The language of music is universal, you don`t need to understand the language in which it was sung, like you don`t understand when the birds are singing, but you still love it

Another great reaction to Patricia singing. I like your use of the words 'commanding' and 'confidence', as I feel that she is totally in command of any stage in any venue (and yes, this was a lovely venue with great acoustics). While this is technically not an opera aria but rather classical sacred, it is worth noting that at a very young age (16 maybe?) she won a prestigious sacred music composition in Europe. She is also, as you mentioned, a true opera singer who does not need a microphone to fill the venue with the sound of her beautiful voice and is also able to adopt the proper demeanor for the song she is singing. Serious and worshipful for this sacred music , but for Mein Herr Marquis, which you have also reacted to, she adopted the requisite fun and flirty manner! Please keep reacting to Patricia Janeckova performances.

Patricia has been singing opera internationally since she was 13yo. (Abt 10yrs) She's a colatura soprano. She's Slovak, but lives & studies in Czech Republic.

One more Patricia video for you: a love duet between Patricia & Peter Maly, called "L"elisir d'amore" by Donizetti. She was only 16 yo at the time.

This is a pet peeve of mine, but not all classical singing is opera. This is sacred classical. Very little of what people call opera singing is actually opera singing. Opera is a narrow, specific genre of classical technique. Rant over, now we can enjoy the music - hard to beat Mozart :)

Fun fact: The rectangular keyboard instrument behind the singer is an early type of harpsichord called a "virginals". (interestingly, the s in this case does not denote a plural, but is just part of the word) It was especially popular in the 1500s in the Netherlands, England and Italy. Queen Elizabeth the first played the virginals (as well as the lute), and was known to be a very good musician. Henry VIII, her father also played the virginals and other instruments, as did Mary, Queen of Scots.

This is not opera, it's religious classical music, in this case by Mozart. This music is supposed to be sung in churches using the accoustics. No microphones.

@Boodysaspie The sound for this recording was simply from a mic mounted on top of the front facing camera. Ideally it should have been just a little closer. From my place in the audience I had a sound recorder running but it was not better than this unfortunately.

Kein Fingerspitzengefühl, statt dessen nur Selbstüberschätzung und Blödsinn!
