I like a fair share of the songs on Forza Horizon, but I don't just like this song. When I hear it playing, it touches something in me, and makes me feel like I have to win for this nameless benefactor of whom the song speaks. Just a weird quirk of my imagination, I realize, but it still is a hell of a motivator.

The Wonder Years are infinitely more creative, powerful, musically advanced than probably every other pop punk band, and have the most heart wrenchingly beautiful, poetic, and tragically sad lyrics out of the whole genre.
God agreed. They come across as artists that happen to make pop punk music, rather than a band trying to be a pop punk band. No gimmicks

@@dainiusvysniauskas2049 Rise Against are more hardcore inspired. They have some songs which are straight up pop punk (Audience of One comes to mind) but not all of their songs are like that.
The majority aren't and they've even been classified as post-hardcore or at least in a similar camp of that genre like AFI.

Different, but it’s The Wonder Years and I can’t help being in love with this band and their music and stories. Every song they write (more recently) has had so much emotion and rawness to it and as always, I love it.

I remember seeing these dudes in a living room before The Upsides was released. They played everything on Won't Be Pathetic Forever, the Distances EP, and a bunch of stuff off Get Stoked On It! At that time, I think Mike Kennedy had gone back to school and hadn't joined back with TWY yet...it's incredible to see how far they have come and still have remained so humble the entire time. Mad props.
