- I wanted to make a complete version of Roger's new song "The Bar" with the complete lyrics put as subtitles.
So I cut the 2 parts and put them together to a complete song.
The film content used is from the live broadcast on the 25th May 2023 at the O2 Arena in Prague.
Since English is not my mother language, any corrections to the lyrics are more than welcome.
Please write them in the comments and I will adjust them.
I do not own any of the rights for the music or the film content.
All rights belong to ROGER WATERS!
for more info go to rogerwaters.com
Enjoy!
Only Roger can write, compose and interpret a masterpiece like this
Did we all understood what Roger has told us in this masterpiece?!? I say this as a Bavarian who have seen him in Munic on 21 May.
Many of us had tears in our eyes...
Shame to all of who discredit this fighter for all the abandon humans!
(sorry for my bad english...)
Me in Prague, May 24. Tears in my eyes, too. We are all brothers and sisters, afterall. Greetings to München!
The best song of last tweenty years....❤ So sad that so few lesting it...song with the soul...
I feel the pain of baby Roger losing his dad at only five months of age. I cried when I saw Roger do this in Sacramento, and I cried watching now. Thank you for posting.
Same!! I cursed out loud and broke down crying, god I understand him so much after my dad's passing too.
His dad chose sides and may he rip. We defeated the wrong enemy' -Patton
I feel like I didn't appreciate this song enough when I saw him live and now it's becoming one of my favorite Roger Waters songs ever
Agreed!
thankyou sir Roger for your compassion and humanity.
Damn. This kinda stuff just solidifies Rog as one of my favorite songwriters ever. The part about his little brother being spared of the memories of their dad was so heavy. I love Pink Floyd and do still hold the post Waters albums dear to my heart, but Rog really was the soul and heart of the band imo.
I believe he was the creative force behind Pink Floyd. The other guy was just the useful idiot.
Song had me in tears last night in London, Masterpiece !
Yeah. I was with you on Friday 02/06/23 in Glasgow. I was in tears a few times during Deja vu & the bar. It’s such an amazing experience That gets you straight into the heart. It’s such an emotional journey the whole show is just an epic experience and only Roger has that ability to make us all feel nostalgic with his awesome song writing. Backed up with amazing musicians the whole show is just incredible. 🐖☝️
Me too. Prague, May 24, 2023. Fare thee well, Mr. George Roger Waters. You've accompanied me throughout my life. Thanks for this song that sprung from your heart. Like your other ones. Thank you, dear man. Thank you.
Great song! Has a subtle resemblance to Golden Slumbers. I saw him live a few weeks ago, very emotional and very Waters, he's still got it!
To hell with the media trying to supress a wounded soul
The Bar - Pt.1
Does everybody in the bar fell pain?
Yeah, sure they do.
Does everybody in the bar a little maimed?
Yeah, both me and you
We traded in the family farm for snake-oil
Bought into the carpetbeggar's lies
Now we're hanging on this cross
With these feelings of loss
Just watching the liberty boat sail on by
Screen titles
"At Standing Rock in North Dakota
The Lakota Sioux protected their land with great courage
Against the invasion of the Black Snake"
Does everybody in the bar feel shame?
Lord knows, I do
I guess we all feel pretty much the same
Kind of wore out by this crazy fucking zoo
The smell of napalm, with cornflakes
The chafe of killing everything that breathes
Imposing sanctions on the lady down the street
'Til she takes the hint, and packs her bags, and leaves
Come on in here, sister, and sit a spell
You are most welcome in the bar
We may seem few, but we are many
Have you been travelling far?
The girl who brought you in here is Lakota
From Standing Rock, where they made their stand
So from Fort Yates, North Dakota
Here's a message for the man
Would you kindly get the fuck off our land?
The Bar - Pt.2
You are my sad eyed lady
Come lay across my big brass bed
Maybe it is we who have been chosen, you and me
To point out - This don't make no fuckin' sense
How many cannonballs must fly, Bob?
How long and winding is the road?
How many children pulling on how many mother's sleeves?
Saying , look ma, the man ain't got no fucking clothes
When I was born my brother used to sit
On my daddy's lap when he was home on leave
Daddy'd smoke a cigarette
And sometimes as a jest
He'd blow smoke-rings up my big brother's sleeve
More fire daddy, my big brother would shout
At least that's story survived
I was mercifully spared
The memories that they shared
Cause I was only five months old when daddy died
Gonna call up a friend in Australia
And order in some bush tucker snacks
And dance here with you to the didgeridoo
And listen while you sing me all the maps
Is that a foghorn in the distance
Are we heading for the rocks
Come sit here by the fireside and hold me in your arms
And tell me, how was life before the cops
I feel like as personal and authentic as Roger has always been, this piece and his forthcoming new album, may be the most to the centre of his heart he's ever done...they feel like a final piece of his artistry, like he's wrapping up his story and our story in song...With Roger at 80, that be the case...one last time reminding us all and don't you forget it, that he's one of the greatest living songwriters and remains so...
I had the pleasure to see this concert in the 02 truly wonderful, a great moralised decent human being with great talent and passion to stand up.agaisnt inequality, tyranny and the war mongers God bless Rodger😊
I saw this show in Amsterdam, thanks Roger. You are amazing ❤
I been listening to this over and over again, hope Roger can publish this, best song I've heard in years!

It’s such a great nostalgic emotional experience the whole show gets you straight in the heart ❤️. Phenomenal masterpiece. Love Love Love Roger. Please don’t let this be the last chance to see this great legend perform live. He’s the greatest artist at what he does. A true privilege. Just incredible., 👍🐷☝️
😊😊😊😊
Oh man ,, Rodger Waters still amazes the hell out of me with his lyrics his is backup band,, keep on playing Rodger Waters.. ur inspiration to all.. ❤
“Roger” 🙄
I love his slight nod of appreciation at the beginning. I’m not sure, but it’s like he’s telling himself that he chose the correct note in the progression
The heart and the soul of the Pink Floyd.
Just the heart.
Id say the soul
Corazón, el alma es David Gilmour
Songwriting at its best. Waters is a modern day Mozart.
I saw this live twice in 2022. Cried like a baby here and when the show ended. So emotional and powerful
We love you Roger
Played last night at the Palladium. Speechless.
Incredible Genius Songwriter Composer no one even comes close.

How many times have you watched this? Yes!
A LOT😁
That guitar line !!!!
Danke. Roger..für den. Song. Danke..fürs Senden
Genial dude!!!!
Sounds almost identical to Southampton Dock.
“And still the dark stain spreads between their shoulder blades
A mute reminder of the poppy fields and graves
When the fight was over they spent what they had made
But in the bottom of their hearts they felt the Final Cut. “
ROGER IS A GREAT WRITER AND HAS MORE INTEGRITY TO FOCUS ON THE REAL ISSUES. I ONCE THOUGHT SPRINGSTEEN HAD THAT BUT HE HAS SOLD OUT.
ROGER DOESN'T
OH FREE PALESTINE NOW
Totally amazingly fantastically perfect
i saw him on his last birthday in Denver been a life long fan im 33 now my mother use to play pink floyd for me as a baby. it was one of the best nights of my life.

gratzie
God bless you Roger.
Simplesmente, lindo. A musica e a mensagem. Muito para refletir! Obrigado Mestre, por mais esta obra-prima.
Just been to see the man at the OVO Glasgow fantastic 🎸
Ahh me too, it was insanely good wasn't it! So good I had to buy a ticket for this Saturday in Manchester. Had money been no object, would have went to every single one of them!
Manchester best concert I’ve been to I think
Io non ho più parole per quanto questo folle riesce a farmi commuovere ❤
Díky Rogere 🤗🤗🤗
It is amazing how Waters innocently narrates history along with his family memories!! check out 6:36!
This beautiful piece reminded me of his "Leaving Beirut" in 2004
Gran canción de Roger, otra perla junto a "each small candle".
Thanks very much for this.
My pleasure
This is better than anything Pink Floyd made after Roger Waters left
Because it actually means something...
Emotional song! Good Roger!
Thank you Empty spaces.
You’re welcome
When Rodger Waters made "the wall" I didn't understand it when I was young but now I do, I myself growing up without a father.. life was so hard .. drugs, alcohol, suicide attempt, and mental hospital...
Sometimes you just have to remind yourself that you are working valiantly to get through this unfair event that we call life. You are trying to do the right thing. When it's all over, that may be your only consolation. Life can be quite lonely and difficult, but stay on the right path until the finish line my friend.
“Roger”
He needs to put this out on a studio album or a single
He confirmed he is in his Brazilian interview a couple of weeks ago!
Byłem w Pradze na koncercie bo w Krakowie
Pieprzony nacjonalista ogłosił że Waters jest persona non grata w Krakowie zajebisty koncert ! Dziękuje Roger !!!
Taky jsem byla v Praze. 👋🍀
Мощный Старик!
Great lyrics. It is just more proof that Roger was the soul of Pink Floyd. He is authentic and genuine. The years have really separated the wheat from the chaff. Most of my idols proved to be cardboard cut-outs, fakes, and sell outs. Roger never lost his beautiful soul. A man on a mission. The muses are with him still. He's THE REAL DEAL.
couldn't have said it better myself
Thank you for uploading lol been dying for a listenable version of this for ages
What a great composer. Better than his pairs by a mile. Only Dylan and Springsteen are in this league. Great job, dude.
You forgot Lennon and Young both whom Roger said were his heroes 😮 we never got to hear what masterpieces Lennon would have written if he had lived a long life like Dylan, Young and Waters, I would put Bruce the next level down personally though still a Legend.
@@James-hd6ez And McCartney.
@@vayres7512 yeah I agree as a generic songwriter he is one of the goats but as a humanitarian songwriter no ,I would personally put David Bowie alongside McCartney as a great.
Leonard Cohen?
And Leonard Cohen
Catchy
Looking forward to sharing the experience with my son on Saturday in Manchester
I will be there too! Cannot wait, saw him in Glasgow with my mum last week and it was easily the most incredible thing I have seen in 10 years, since the last time I saw him playing The Wall at the M.E.N. So emotional and powerful. Only me going on Saturday as unfortunately my mum couldn't make it. Cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to see him again in a few days time! Hope you have a blast at the show! Treasure the memories, it's lovely to hear you are taking your son! My Mum and Grandad got me into Floyd as a young kid and I have carried such a great love for their music, especially Rog, through the years with me, now 31, but I remember being a little lad at 9 years old and being just mesmerised and blown away by Roger's in the flesh tour back in 2001. It's made my life that I've gotten to see him multiple times live and in the flesh! Can hand on heart say I have fulfilled my childhood dreams!!
@@AJT.92 How was it? I saw him in London last week. Epic!
@@GavM It was sublime! Utterly, utterly sublime there is no other word to describe it! Had the time of my life. Very sad now it's finished. As the famous line goes; "It was the greatest show on earth, and then it was over.."
Yes he was shaky at end of manc gig. Fucking amazing show tho
Sounds very The Wall.
Think its bascly outside the wall chords. Shine on🌟⚒
Tears in munich
THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️
To the brother....
Masterpiece!
life B4 the cops, is roger taking the piss out of big brother❣
"You are my sad-eyed lady

Saying, "Look Ma, the man ain't got no fucking clothes"
This song is pretty powerful ..
Waters new album "The Bar" can't come soon enough...not only is it wanted, its necessary...the mans words and his ability to stick by his conviction, despite the echo chamber doing their best to cancel him...he sticks by his word. Imagine if our ELECTED leaders actually did that...
This song and the song "Crystal Clear Brooks" seem to have been composed in a same key!
I'm guessing Roger's new album will include both!!
Let’s hope🤞🏻
💙🌹💙
do u have all the footage from the prague performance or did he post this video somewhere?
does anyone know the guitar chords to this beautiful song?
you can not turn up the volume?
By any chance, how did you get the proshot?
it's available to download illegally but I didn't tell you that
0.37 "a little maimed"
0.59 "bought into the carpetbagger's lies"
6.11 "sometimes as a jest"
6.14 "he'd blow smoke-rings up my big brother's sleeve"
6.29 "at least that's how the story has survived"
6.36 "I was mercifully spared"
Great work...thanks for putting this together 👍✌️
thank you so much! lyrics are adjusted
So, does anyone know, what does the line "life before cops" mean?
Such Dylan
I wept
Reupload loader please mate
Doesn’t fell loud enough 😢
Holy shit - the ad placement there was fucking shocking. Whoever chose to monetise this - shame on you.
Maudlin tripe.
LANA WOOD SAVE THE TIGER MOVIE DAVE DRAPER CANADA 74
Usually love Roger's stuff but this is overlong and boring!
When he said “would you kindly get the fuck of my land” God said amen
Thank you for coming to London.
It was indeed very powerful. You were right!
I would have regretted it.
Hope the bar grows bigger and bigger. 🙏🫶☮️
