Thought I’d leave the clips in of me attempting to remove that bottom pin from the calliper, just to show how long and annoying it can be 🤣 it was really stuck in there, be patient and use more force if necessary. This is why you get supplied with copper grease 😎
Another great video! Just before Christmas i installed the EBC yellowstuff front and back on my 8P; was running the redstuff but they were starting to leave residue on the discs leaving me with vibration when braking . I have about 500 miles on them; these pads are no joke. They stop the car! Still nursing them for another 500 miles; pilot super sport 4s going on this coming week it’s going to be fun. If anyone has braking issues with their 8P consider giving these pads a try.
Thanks very much mate! That’s very annoying about the redstuff pads! I’ve only heard good things about the yellowstuff mate, perfect all rounder and stop the car brilliantly. You won’t regret getting those tyres mate they’re spot on. I run the PS4S’s all round and they’re no joke 🔥
It reminds me when I was younger and not so handy. When hitting the pin the tool could be also reverse, so the side with larger area could hit the pin and the hammer the narrow side.
The shims are to stop the squealing, but over time they can rust. Copper grease forms a film to help prevent this. I work at Ferodo so have a little knowledge but it’s only advice.
@@karlchadwick2667 I see mate! That makes perfect sense. I may even add some if need be pal. Won’t take long to take them out quickly. Thanks for the advice Karl 👌🏼
@@AutoBay second that! Any contact patches as well - so the top and bottom edges of the pad where they will slide. Won’t matter too much on this style of Caliper, but it will when you change the rear pads as they’ll be sliding on metal retainers. Wire brush and copper slip will ensure pads slide smoothly and don’t seize onto the disc👍🏽
@@AutoBay i have a black ttrs, and i am thinking of getting a purple/violet calipers ! you can also get the rs badges with oem spec, size and heat resistant from ebay.
Thanks mate! Yeah they’re still good to be honest! I haven’t replaced them in the 10 months I’ve owned it, I’d have to check my paper work and see when they were done 🤣👌🏼
@@lenep9985 I’ve heard a fair few aswell mate... it seems the floating version suffers the most? I also think it’s just because no one does the bedding in process properly...
Very well mate, I’m still loving them. Especially now they’re bedded in! Highly recommended. However, there’s a fair bit of brake dust on these compared to standard, but nothing a quick wheel wash won’t get rid of 👍🏼

Helps if you grab the right tools. 5mm punch and 5kg hammer.

Always apply copper grease to the back of the pads even with shims on.
Really bud? What benefit will it have on the back of the shim?

Is this between pad and shim or shim and caliper ?
Why did you grab the world’s tiniest hammer for the job?
Tape up round the pins to stop paint damage
Great video mate, I’m going to get some of these pads for my car. They look really straight forward to change 👍
Much appreciated mate! They’re cracking pads, you won’t regret it 👌🏼
Need to get some for my GTI soon, let us know how you get on with them, maybe a mini review?
Defo do it bro, I’ve only heard good things. Yes mate I’ll defo do a follow up video after a couple weeks/ month 😎😎
how many Nm do you have to tighten the screws on the breaks and breakdiscs?
Thanksyou 😌
Another nice one! How about doing a detailing vid next?
That could defo be arranged mate. I’ve already got something lined up for next week, but it’s on the list 😎
great video mate! you should look into getting your calipers painted, would look really good with red!
Thanks very much mate! I defo want them redone. My RS badges have dated to pink, and the black is just boring 🤣 red would look mint 😎

Thank you bro 🙏🏼🙏🏼 almost thought I’d be calling you at one point 🤣🤣

Love it mate, great video😃🙌🔥
Thank you mate 😎🙏🏼
Love the video as always bro! You stay to calm when this dont always go to plan first time lol teach me how you do this haha!
Thank you once again bro, I managed to control the anger this time 🤣 there’s many vids I have to edit out where I’m raging 😅
@@AutoBay 😂😂😂😂😂
Hi , ebc yellow is a good break pad for rs3 8p ? Please let me know. Best regards.
The yellowstuff pads work very well with the stock discs mate. Highly recommend
Depends on your 80% use case. Pick the pad whose strengths are best suited for the purpose most commonly used.
Nice vid.....your discs look in good nick...are they new..ish?

@@AutoBay well your cars low mileage anyways. So be glad..cos i just spent 900 on front brakes....lol
@@lenep9985 what did you go for in the end mate? Reyland discs??
@@AutoBay no i kept hearing too many negatives...so i went the OEM route..

Bro, you call that a hammer?!? 😂
Can’t be using the big guns for such a Small pin 🤣🤣💪🏼
hi, did these yellow ebcs work well with this braking system?

thanks for the reply, I have the same braking system on cupra Formentor, and I have already bought yellow ebc 💪
dont use coppergrease on alucaliper redoxpotential are huge, better use ceramicgrease!
Can i use this brake pads for a ceramic brake?
That was painful to watch.
These brake pads are junk
Have you used them?
Sometimes a bigger Hammer makes more sense... 🤷♂️
Couldn’t agree more mate 🤣
