Been playing this on steam ever since it first went into early access. Was kind of of awkward playing without a character model in the cockpit view, but the game has some of the best destruction physics I've ever seen in a video game. Plus the game even features lawnmower racing; who wouldn't get a kick out of that? Its a nice clean track at the start of a race and a total waste land of wreckage and debris by the end. Glad to see this gem finally getting an official release.
So hyped for this on the Xbox one x the graphics look unreal! Apparently it’s a cross between 3 different cult games, destruction derby, flatout and street rod!
Then you need to have your eyes checked. Even the PC version doesn't look like a 2018 game, mainly because it's not. It was supposed to come out 3 years ago. Don't waste your money on this crap, just get Flatout Ultimate Carnage instead. It's a much better game, it costs next to nothing and you can run it on pretty much any PC (might also be backwards compatible on the Xbox One, don't know).

Seeing so much Destruction Derby and Flatout people here, and yet no mention at all of *Test Drive: Eve of Destruction,* which is more like this than the other two ever were by miles.
I've been waiting for so long for a game even remotely close to eve of destruction to come back to console. flatout games just didn't capture that feeling for me.

Yea same here, played the hell out of DD1 and spent also a lot of time with DD2. You are right about DDraw, that game was very bad, I didn't play it much and I really disliked the new graphic style of it. I also played Demolition Racer, one of my favorit games on the ps1, I loved this game so much and I liked the split screen modus if you wanted to play with friends. You also could paint your car which I found awesome during that time lol. I don't own a ps3 anymore, but a friend of mine has shown me flatout on the pc. Wasn't that bad, but couldn't get really into it, don't know why. I am going to get Wreckfest for sure. The only thing I miss a lot in Wreckfest is a pointsystem like in DD for crashing in other cars :D
So glad to see a spiritual successor to both FlatOut and Destruction Derby 1, 2, & Raw! Now that we have a really nice car destruction physics engine, could THQ Nordic please buy Destruction Derby rights and get the BugBear team to make Destruction Derby 3? ;) Those manic characters deserve a third game.

For those of you who got this game on Steam when it was first released or during the alpha or beta you're already ahead. And if anyone asks Bugbear Entertainment started this game project. Don't be confused, Bugbear made the Flatout games first, then another company made Flatout 3 and afterwards. Wreckfest is everything that represents old Flatout titles that were great. This is the work of Bugbear Entertainment and they deserve credit and respect for making a game both fun to play and watch.
Finally Wreckfest is getting the release version So glad that it survived the early access and that bugbear got a publisher to finish the job! I am Happy 😊
It's a damn good dame. Made by the folks that brought us Flatout. I bought it in Alpha, and despite being so close to launch, right now there are still things that they need to add, but the base game is definitely playable. On the bright side, whenever this is fully released, the Steam Workshop is going to blow up with people creating awesome mods to go alongside the base game. Right now, there aren't many skins to choose from for the cars. There are technically 2 skins, but with a few different variations of them. I'd love to see an in-game skin editor that we can personalize our cars further. There also aren't as many 'extra' parts as I'd like. I'm talking bumpers, hoods, fender flares, etc. for every single car, then extra decoration items (much like Rocket League if you will). These parts are available for a few cars, but not all of them. Also, the AI is still a little iffy as well, I'd like to see the AI have the ability to spawn in with extra parts on their cars too, rather than just how the car looks when you purchase it. Racing is where it's at in this game, I personally dread doing the demo derbies because they're a bit lackluster... I can't wait to see what they give in the next update, and I hope they continue to update after the release. There desperately needs to be some night racing with proper lighting elements.
We been modding Wreckfest since May 2016 when Bugbear gave us Bagedit to help us mod the game. There already a bunch of mods in Steam Workshop, like my fig8 tracks. :)
I'm so glad that they're open to the modding community unlike other game studios! I've played a few Workshop tracks, and let me say that they definitely add to the game after the career mode is all completed! Not sure if I found yours yet, but I'll dig around and give them a try ;) I'm curious to see if anyone is trying to create entirely new vehicles or if that is a possibility. I'd love to see some of the 'special' cars from the Flatout series making a reappearance..
I've had this game from the beginning and it's a hell of a lot of fun online. Lost count of the number of time I've been laughing as some huge pile-up unfolds with cars flying everywhere. Make sure you get it.

Just like the heaps of junk in the game. You thought they're dead, but they just got a new breath of life in them.
Not until it got picked by Nordic as its publisher. Nordic probably gave Bugbear some funding so they could finish it.
The huge update delay was because they reworked the engine.

Iv had it for 5 years guys on pc im one of the original backers i was playing it last week
