I don't know how lynch can be so positive playing a meme deck while the other guy is taking back 3 shots and playing with a sweaty deck with ancient tomb and dual lands lmao.
@@IHateYourDeckit's definitely the reason why I loved the episode and will continue supporting your channel. I was worried at the beggining of the discussion as it looked like Roper was about to lose due to the take backsies but I'm glad you allowed the 3rd one without punishment, he seems to be a cool guy and definitely did not have bad intentions on that, maybe he was a little nervous while playing but that's it. Anyways, I'm glad the game wasn't a loss for Roper. 😊
@@IHateYourDeck we play like 6 player free for all and the ammount of take backs during the game is so frustrating, i would love to play in a setting like this. our games take easily 2-3 hrs per game
Really wanted to see roper lose to the take back shots lol you could see it on his face he was so nervous on that third one. Next time just gotta keep it pushing after a misplay.
In my casual pod, takebacks are common and most of the time allowed on small stuff, we all enjoy seeing each other have good plays. That being said, when you're really putting elbow grease into your board and popping off very fast and very threateningly, you can't ask for takebacks. ESPECIALLY three times. It's just bad form really, read the room.
How do you run a combat centric deck like GG&S and not ask about flyers or what possible blocks? Just take your misplays and become a better player for it. You can't be lazy just because you're ahead. And also complaining about not being able to take something back or asking for a redo when you're so far ahead just feels kinda like a tantrum
Man seeing those misplays roper did and on his 3rd take back should have been a loss for him why have a rule if the third take back happens you lose? Just pay attention to the board state.
I love how Lynch spoke to Roper. He was patient and clearly communicated. It’s unfortunate the last take back was accepted. Those rules are clear here on this channel. It’s ok to make a mistake. It’s ok to laugh it off. You were being oppressive all game, Roper. It would have only been fair to hold yourself to the standards of the channel and also accept when the table clearly communicates their boundaries.
I'm with the table. Roper should have lost, haha. All good though. His deck definitely went off and scary Larry wasn't so scary this week. Great video.
I played against a Goldberry deck where they were just kept stealing my creatures with an enchantment. It was so cool to see! That Goro deck is great. Might build it!
Roper shouldn’t have been allowed that last take back if he didn’t want to lose. One more dragon doesn’t do anything for him at that point in the game.
Loved your idea of the take backsies die. Too bad you didnt follow through. The one misplay wouldnt make a difference at this point, Larry would have died either way. Tbh in my experience games are even more fun when I am sure i win but then f up majorly due to my own miscalculation 😅
Very one sided game. I feel like nobody told Roper it was a goofy casual game and he came with his best deck. Was really looking forward to seeing Larry pilot that Zalto deck too.
Roper a true try hard. It wouldve been much more entertaining seeing someone lose from the 3 take back shot rule than someone not owning up to their misplays.
Good game up until that 3rd take back. I get doing additional minor take backs if you're the underdog but when it's game ending swings...just bad form. Would have loved to see Larry or Lynch finally get a good turn in.
SAME. It's my pet deck so I always am happy to see it in content but DANG it doesn't get done justice in some videos. It's a fun deck, I can't suggest it more!
I found it weird you asked if the table was okay with legal universe beyond cards. 50% of sets recently have been universes beyond. Thus most new magic players will most likely be using universe beyond at least in a few cards.
Doesn’t GGanS only make 1 dragon even if two creatures attack two different players since it says “one or more”? I could be mistaken but I also play this kinda deck and I’m 99% sure that I was told since it says “one or more” it’s only one dragon?
Think Lynchh would have gotten the terror to flip if i'm not wrong. He didnt have to do the shenans moving the age counter from hall of mist on the last turn coz it was the last turn, no point wasting mana on that coz it's do or die. The extra mana would have allowed him to cast an instant/sorc then flip thing in the ice, bouncing everything. Wouldnt have won him the game but would have had it continue on. Shame, was hoping Larry would've spotted that (unless i myself am missing something)
I'm confused by the GG&S trigger, shouldn't it only be triggering once? Also, shouldn't the age counters on other permanents still matter (so Lynch should still be paying the mana for the other permanents to hang around)?
The cumulative upkeep is what makes you pay for the age counters. On any other card the age counters are counters without a function. GG&S triggers once per player. Not once per attacking creature.
The trigger on Goro-Goro and Satoru reads "one or more creatures [...] deal combat damage to a player", so it triggers once per player. (If it said "one or more players", it would be just once for the damage step.) As for the age counters on the Island, the counters do nothing by themselves. It's the rules text of cumulative upkeep that cares about them. But the Island doesn't have cumulative upkeep, so stacking age counters on it doesn't make a difference.
1. The GG&S triggers once for each player attacked ("a player" instead of "one or more players") 2. It would, if the island also had a cumulative upkeep trigger, which it doesn't. Other cards have cum. upkeeps with pay 2 life or pay U. The counters themselves don't do anything
Imo universe beyond is fine now especially because how there are mechanically unique cards stuck in those sets. Orcish bowmaster hello? (Bowmaster, radstorm, lotho (?), mirkwood bats, the master, those are all i can think of easily)
It should only be one dragon. It's "Whenever one or more creatures you control" not "Whenever A creature you control." That means it doesn't matter how many creatures it is, you only get 1 dragon.
@@evanfoster5843You're missing an important piece of the text. "Whenever one or more creatures deals combat damage TO A PLAYER..." That means if two creatures enter and they hit different opponents, one each, then it procs twice. See similar; Professional Face-Breaker
Terror's "ward" isn't actually ward, it specifies that spells cost 3 life to target - channeling is an ability, not a spell, this terror's ability doesn't see it need the 3 life
Hey guy, I’m a new player and I own no decks yet. I really like Kaalia but I don’t want to spent over £100 on a deck. Do I just buy a precon ? Or is there somewhere that will sell custom decks without it being loads of money please?
I don’t get why they let him alter his combat step when he had already assigned attackers so that he could kill Larry. Isn’t that a take back in itself?
"Whenever one or more creatures [...] deal combat damage to a player". So it triggers once per player ("a player"), regardless of how many creatures hit that player ("one or more creatures").
Because it is "one or more creatures", but "a player", not "one or more players". So it triggers once for each player, regardless of number of attacking creatures
Lynch Goldberry could be built back better! You are wasting those counters! They could be turned into damage or on board power bud! I would love to see her come back with some more teeth.
Sort of. If he hits two different opponents, each with a creature that ETB'd this turn, it would trigger once for each creature. The dude seems to be a little bit nervous, call it his opponents, call it the camera effect, call it his persona, whatever, he just seems to be nervous and hence, the misplays declaring attackers. It's a casual game between friends, not a tournament, and the "Gathering" should be more important than winning or losing a game.
