This was such a fun episode and wonderful to see more of Barry's family on the show. Leo was also a good sport and rolled with the punches of being archenemy.
This is a dad playing Magic with his sons the way it is supposed to be: not holding back, explaining his plays, teaching them thus to have better plays. And it shows. Leo is quite a remarkable player already. Lovely episode, awesome to see the family-dynamics on the game table (classical always attack Dad first!)
I'm surprised nobody answered the question asked during the game, so I might as well: when an X spell is on the stack (and nowhere else), the value of X is taken into account when calculating its mana value. (CR 202.3e) Nice game! I love the family interactions, haha
It was a pretty good summary of the situation considering he saved the guy who was going to win the game. Young one did a pretty good threat assessment, old one countered it just because and wasted a pretty important counterspell. "what is wrong with you" indeed.
I love these 3 guests, I just watched the old one with Obuun and the mono green shenanigans David did in that episode and thought “man I can’t wait to see them again” and look at that, they cloned David! 😂
I haven't watched your games for a while but it's good to see some thing never change, like David consistently trying to fly too close to the sun without his wings melting and failing everytime XD.
Watching David deck himself is a great reminder for me to why I have echo of eons, days undoing and learn from the past in my brallin and shabraz infinite wheel deck. It’s saved the game too many times to count
I feel like all the discards would happen after he stops drawing because every time he draws it creates a new insect which would cause a new draw. The reason I think this is that the discard is separated by a period and not a comma I could be wrong
Depending on when David found the niv’s i think he could’ve won without being reckless if he used the niv pings to kill silent arbiter then punch with his billion bugs. He also wouldn’t have had to sacrifice like 18 attackers to do it.
45:18 Nope, I never failed when playing my father in anything but he never let me win either. I carried that on with my kids. If they ever beat me at anything they earned it. What makes it funny is my son is the one who got me into magic. :)
12:00 So I think this mechanic could be explained a little better. Lynch is correct, Rhystic Study is not an optional trigger. There is an option involved with the triggered ability but it's an option for the opponent. Aka the trigger is automatically put onto the stack any time an opponent casts a spell, the "may" is for your opponent which means it's impossible to forget about. I mean, it often gets pushed into the back of the conversation for the convenience of the active player but Rhystic Study is a mandatory trigger. In fact technically it does give the wielder of Rhystic Study an option as well, as to whether they want to draw, but the important thing to remember is that the opponents always have to make their decisions before anything else is supposed to happen.
1st time seeing this channel and I am new to magic after being away since 1998. This was a hilarious game, and the dad was hilarious. I really enjoyed this. Hope to check out another video. Thank you
At 18:38, Barry flickers Toothy to draw cards. But Toothy’s ability says “when he leaves the battlefield”, so wouldn’t the card draw happen while Toothy is exiled, so Toothy wouldn’t get all of those counters back?
No. Ghostly Flicker goes on the Stack and resolves completely (not just the part of exiling, but also the part of returning). So Toothy leaves the battlefield and immediately comes back. BUT he left the battlefield in the progress, so now there are the card draw triggers of himself leaving the battlefield on the stack.
I believe it's because it returns as part of the spell resolving, so the trigger to draw doesn't occur until after he's back (unlike with something that returns it at the next end step for example).
Toothy leaves the battlefield as part of the spell to flicker it, so its trigger goes on the stack. The spell then has to finish resolving first, which returns Toothy to the battlefield with the trigger still on the stack. The trigger then resolves with Toothy on the battlefield, getting it the +1/+1 counters.
She does not and will not. 3 waves of trying… with this last “attenpt” its a forever no. Shes a killer at catan. But refuses to tap… thinks its stupid… literally wont get past tapping.
I'm wracking my head trying to figure out how David was expecting to win with the two Niv's, 14 cards in his library, and 3 opponents at over 90 life. Was there one more spell that was going to come down? Also, I just built mono-blue clones and it's one of my favorite decks to play (I'm assuming that's what Lynch was playing).
Serious question: given the sheer volume of card advantage provided by obnix captive kingpin, do yall think he would qualify as thematic for this pod? Impulse draw is still draw right? Even if it’s only temporary.
This may come off as mean but I swear it's not...
but father and sons look like a pokemon evolution
gets bigger and lose hair color xD
thats just how evolution goes sometimes ^^ could say this to some families I know ^^
Why did Barry lose Fire type tho
dude that's actually perfect omg

it's like the same guy at three different ages
:somebody blew their force of will on Davids bullshit" lmao 😂😂

Nice game! I love the family interactions, haha
What about commander tax? I assume not, in that specific case.
"NOOO, What is wrong with you?!?!" Is such a younger sibling thing to say 🤣
It was a pretty good summary of the situation considering he saved the guy who was going to win the game.
Young one did a pretty good threat assessment, old one countered it just because and wasted a pretty important counterspell.
"what is wrong with you" indeed.
so glad to see david back again, love his energy and his whole family is just so great!
I love these 3 guests, I just watched the old one with Obuun and the mono green shenanigans David did in that episode and thought “man I can’t wait to see them again” and look at that, they cloned David! 😂

Accidentally milling yourself while going infinite is a wonderful experience to have.
Hey! Happy to see the little brother having fun with his family. Good to see you Leo. Great game all around
such a great wholesome episode, this is literally my nightmare commander rotation hahahah
We need more games with this group, the family banter is amazing
Holy Shit, it's the whole Ksido clan! Love when the whole family plays! Cheers!
Barry is an absolute blast! Keep him coming. He's a great magic player and a great dad.
To anyone who hasn't watched yet, it's a great and wholesome episode with lots of twist! It's worth the watch! 💯
Bro I loved this one, it was such a cool atmosphere. Really liked Leo’s confidence, explaining everything…. Sometimes better than adults XD
Love it, so cool the dad is playing with the Kids and giving them a small Lesson
25:44 "The man isn't painting, he's just tracing." Simply gold. lol
😁 its a jayz line!
Watching David deck himself is a great reminder for me to why I have echo of eons, days undoing and learn from the past in my brallin and shabraz infinite wheel deck. It’s saved the game too many times to count
What a fun show! Happy to see you play with Barry and his two boys!
Wth did he not use the niv triggers to kill the silent Arbiter! Do that and swing with all the hasted locus
I feel like all the discards would happen after he stops drawing because every time he draws it creates a new insect which would cause a new draw. The reason I think this is that the discard is separated by a period and not a comma I could be wrong
Hahaha, Barry clutching the game was amazing!
Leo clearly had the right idea about going for his throat right away
Such a great episode, the family vibe is awesome with Lynch as the cool uncle, had a smile on my face the whole time !
What a fun episode, now I have a new commander I want to try out.
Barry shoulda got the Sol Ring back once David died. It was tapped at the time I believe, but it'd untap during his own turn.
Their dad is awesome and that family is really cute.
Four blu players walk into a bar..
This was real fun to watch, fun interactions, sick turns, love it! Papa did a good job
David needs to put in a Campfire and Elixir of Immortality so he can get his library back
Looks fun can't wait to watch. Barry and David are always fun when on the sbow together
Thanks for everything Lynch you’re the man

Hello Leo. welcome to the land of deck hating
1st time seeing this channel and I am new to magic after being away since 1998. This was a hilarious game, and the dad was hilarious. I really enjoyed this. Hope to check out another video. Thank you
Now we know why the Thieving Skydiver dove from the sky while thieving.
He was kicked.
I can already see the chaos from the thumbnail.
"Im barely alive" - Barry xD
Too bad, David! This just means another episode to try and win - good attempt though! Great episode, guys :)
Always awesome games with this family. Nice pod!
12:15 Kind of expected Leo to respond with a "then get good scrub". lol
Merry Christmas David!
I love this kid! Bring him back!!! So smart!
Leo needs to comeback this was awesome!
So happy to one see pir and toothy on the show but even happier to see them take the win. They are my main commander
I appreciate Barry. He is a good dad
The fact they both tried to kill their dad TWICE and homie was saved by his older kid then lynch.... LOL
had a good time watching this one for sure.
Barry would have gotten his soul ring back 41:50
There's a THIRD ONE!😮 love this family!
why didnt david just kill silent arbiter with the Niv triggers and kill everyone with all his haste bugs??
🎶 "Somebody blew their Force of Will on Leo's Bullshit." 🎶
10/10 I would watch this pod play MTG anytime
3:57 i bet that "playing with fire" is exactly how Leo and Dave were made.
David my man, where have you been?? I'm going to clear my schedule and watch this episode right away
Very fun, loved it!
I love this family. ❤️
You can target another player with the Partner trigger, but it's a may for them to search. They don't have to search.
Ray catching strays 😂😂😂
Shabraz and brallin is my pet deck ! Gotta check out some love for my boys :)
Young david icarus flew too close to the sun
Great episode ❤
Leo is absolutely adorable
Wow that is a statement bringe 2 kids to this format, What a champ
I like how Lynch saves Barry then asks Leo for answers to Barry after killing his commander that would of killed Barry
"R.I.P. Barry."
My boys knew better, I was always the first one out in games lol. Great work Papa!
this was wholesome, I enjoyed it. We need an episode with without Lynch, bring the mom in.
That was fun to watch
Love to watch family commander
Great game guys.
Wonderful episode
Did Barry ever get his sol ring back from David?
😊 awesome video my man.
Long time watcher, I'd be a supporter but raising to many kids at this time. Keep it up!
The sibling rivalry was there :-)

The bluest game I've ever seen, great fun
David is such a G 👏🏼
Sickest phyrexian metamorph art 😩
The ginger force is strong in this one 🤯
Should've called this episode The Auction with how much selling was happening

BUT he left the battlefield in the progress, so now there are the card draw triggers of himself leaving the battlefield on the stack.
No because the whole ability/spell has to resolve before the next trigger can start resolving.
The flicker spell has to resolve fully first, at which point Toothy is back on the battlefield. Afterwards, his LTB ability triggers.
That was fun
That arcane denial on Lynch was HILARIOUS
42:39 someone get Barry a record deal
I'm a simple man I see David or Larry I click on the episode
Nooo! I thought he had it! Lol
Normal Parents: Having kids is expensive.
Barry: 😰
This question is for Leo David and Barry does mom play or do yous get rowdy alone
She does not and will not. 3 waves of trying… with this last “attenpt” its a forever no. Shes a killer at catan. But refuses to tap… thinks its stupid… literally wont get past tapping.
Mike would have gained a lot of life from his copy of the sky shark

Putting cards into exile does not trigger the draw effects that this pod is attempting to do, and none of them are playing rakdos colors I think
This kid is a menace!
Crazy that this was only 6 turns. 😂😂
