When The Foot expanded to New York, Saki was placed in charge of that branch and used the opportunity to track down and kill Yoshi and Shen, much like Splinter described in the film.
CLASSIC like a pair of Reeboks. Still the best TMNT movie after all these years, taking more of its cues from the 80s comics. I can still quote this entire movie, front to back, no problem.
This movie has a special place in my heart. Years later after watching the movie I met my future fiance. I told him he looked a lot like Kevin Clash (Master Splinter's puppeteerand voice). Turns out Kevin is my fiance's first cousin and he even worked on the Elmo show for a while as part of the stage crew.
When I was seven, this was the first movie I ever got to see in theaters. I remember it to this day. It's too bad people freaked out about the violence, the turtles were not allowed to use their weapons in the sequel, which makes it feel a lot more cartoony, but the third one is fun. My family also had "Ninja Turtles: Coming Out of Their Shells", a live action concert put on by the turtles, lol.
My brothers and I won free tickets to that concert. We had seats in the Cowabunga section. You can see me and my bros for a hot second in the video footage. 😊

They should really do a remake of the 1990 version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and have it slightly closer to the comics. To be more specific, they should have the scene where Leonardo is on the roof and practicing his ninja moves and getting ambushed by the foot clan instead of Raphael. In the comics and in the 2003 TMNT cartoon in the two-part episode of the shredder strikes back, it was Leonardo that was jumped by the clan, and the remaining turtles had to protect him and fend off the foot clan. In all honesty, that’s what they have should’ve had done in the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
My favorite out of the Ninja Turtles has always been Michelangelo, but seeing Raphael get beaten to within an inch of his life by The Foot is never easy.
The director of this film also directed the music video of “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson and “Take On Me” by A-ha. The costumes were created by Jim Henson before he died and he said it was the most advanced thing he’s done. Corey Feldman was the voice of Donatello. Josh Pais who played Raphael did both the voice and wore the costume and was the only one to do both. The music was done by the same guy who did the music to the Monty Python movies. Lots of talent went into making this film and it shows.

Tmnt gets associated with Power Rangers a lot, but honestly I feel like it’s tone and style and diversity makes me feel like it fits more in line with Kamen Rider. If you are up for it, I know some behind the scenes stuff for the movie.

The comics a mixture of 3 of the most popular comic books of the 1980s Chris Claremont's The New Mutants, & Frank Miller's Daredevil & Ronin. The comics were dark , violent, & imaginative. This movie wasn't made in New York but my hometown of Wilmington, NC. The other comic book movies made in Wilmington were The Crow(1994) & Iron Man 3(2013). Evidently Wilmington, NC was cheaper to make movies than New York, Detroit, or Chicago. Besides Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Crow is my second favorite comic book movie of the 1990s. It stars the late great Brandon Lee son of the legendary Bruce Lee. Both Bruce & Brandon died in the middle of one of their movies. Bruce Lee's best movie is Enter The Dragon(1973) & Brandon Lee's best movie is The Crow(1994)
It’s understandable if it is not her kind of genre since not everyone likes the 90s aesthetic but yet she looks as if she was born in the 90s, I was born a year after this came out. If you told me she’s in her 20s, I would not believe it because you both look to be in at least your early to mid 30s.
Those suits and animatronic heads STILL look good, 30+ years later. I don't know why they don't go back to that and upgrade it with modern tech. I think it was 60 lbs of stuff they had to wear, but surely they could make it a lot lighter now. Could probably use motion capture and software to control the face and mouth too.

One of my favorite movies growing up along with "Batman"(1989). Corey Feldman from "Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter" did the Voice-Over for Donatello. The guy who does the Stunts for Donatello "Ernie Reyes Jr" he was also on "TMNT 2" as a character in the movie and also on "The Rundown"(2003) he has a fight scene against Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson & Ernie Reyes Jr Still Has It i recommend it

Mikey bottled up a lot of stuff in the movie. When Donnie asked him earlier if he thought about Splinter not being around, Mikey played it off as a joke, but deep down he didn't want to think about it. There was a deleted scene where Mikey was training while they were at the farm.

Then went together to see it again for the special 30 year anniversary re-release in 2020. It was a nostalgia overdose in the best way... The original TMNT VHS has a Pizza Hut Little League baseball commercial in the beginning, yet Domino's ended up with the greatest pizza product placement in movie history. AND the delivery guy was actually one of the turtles, out of costume. Also the guy in the cab was one of the turtles out of costume as well. And there are cut scenes and altered ones of Michelangelo. He was the one shouting from the top of the farm house yet they used Raph's voice. He was also the only Turtle to not have his drawing shown done by April
The funny thing is about Raphael is you see the actor who played him when the guy in the taxi asks the driver what was that 😆 the guy in the back seat asking the question is Raphael 😆 🤣 😂

there are two close to perfect graphic novel adaptations (The Original TMNT & The Crow) both films mirror the original source material! It’s crazy that both film were even made during the last real hot period of comic books…. When the comic book industry was red hot Hollywood didn’t have the hindsight to capitalize on it. Once you bring in massive media companies it effects the overall market Marvel & DC have way to many hands in the pie so the films are diluted For 1990 TMNT is truly a game changer in so many ways 👍👍👍👍
