I'd say the most important thing for a new account is set yourself small, realistic goals after playing the game for a couple weeks and figuring out what you like about it. That way you can know where to set your goals, and setting smaller ones as opposed to say playing for 2 weeks and setting a goal of infernal cape you'll be able to complete your goals and feel that sense of accomplishment rather than burning out on the unrealistic goal. FYI, you do not need holiday tracks to unlock the music cape, only the trimmed variation. No need to wait a full year for a holiday event if you're close to the music cape!
As an Ironman I got the Quest cape last week and can say that better gear is very ideal. You need to spend a lot of time learning PVM bosses for the quests and you'll feel at times it's jsut not possible. Desert Treasures 2 is a nightmare and who knows how hard While Guthix Sleeps will be soon.
Its important to have a goal to grind too. Im notifing myself doing hard pvm challenges that i used to watch other people do on TH-cam, now im the one doing it! And its going so well that i dont even remember doing the bossfights almost or how i managed it

i wish i got on the quest grind sooner, im on the upper side of a mid account i think with most 80s sprinkled with a few 90+ and 1 or 2 70s, but im so far behind on quests and just general account unlocks. now when i look at some activity i want to do or some item i want like bone crusher as an example and see the list of quests i need to unlock and its so daunting
I'd tell them to start farming asap, do Waterfall, do a bunch of the other quests for mid game unlocks, start looking at Slayer around base 60 combats, invest all spare gp into construction/PoH, and don't fall for the Graceful noob trap, just bring a stamina pot

I have been enjoying ironman way more due to not having to worry about upgrading stuff via making money. Everything I get will feel more rewarding. I'm currently working on getting 77 magic for super glass make and then I'll be getting 99 crafting as my second 99. I basically ditched my main account at nearly 2050 total.
if you have no life to enjoy and want to stroke your ego, yeah, irons the way to go. Trading is essential in a MMORPG. Otherwise its just a single player game. Many folks ive seen regret being iron, not being able to participate in some activities or using the trade feature.

I don't get to spend hours a day on my account. Yeah the progress on a ironman is slower, but I can login whenever I want do whatever I want and not worry about gp or item prices dropping etc. Im still not 99 crafting btw although im now actively training it, i still have about 70 hours left on the skill. I'm 1710 total now and completed a bunch of side goals such as prayer and stamina pool in my house, gathering supplies for pvm, herbs, money for 83 construction. I haven't done a single bit of pvm, yet really. Still 85 combat and absolutely loving the game whenever I login because I'm not in a rush.

I’d remove the idea of maxing first then going for inferno. Mega weapons after inferno is not what I’d suggest. It’ would feel impossible to pass inferno without the help of better gear. It is after all, a very challenging piece of content. I’m almost ready for a T BOW and will then set aside time to do it once I have it banked. I’d suggesting once you start the PVM route, explore a bunch of boss content and money making methods, switching it up as you go along. You’ll be forced to learn mechanics that are transferable. I’m not a skiller, I don’t focus on diaries, but there is content that not many people have achieved that if you want to explore a bit of fashion scape then you could go for cosmetics such as the “champions cape “. I'd rather read every NPC interaction and not cheat on the puzzles and riddles whilst questing. That's the salt of the game, I think. The most crucial part for me is enjoying the ride. I guess teleports and accessibility to areas featuring interesting gaming content is the priority in that sense.

I'd rather read every NPC interaction and not cheat on the puzzles and riddles whilst questing. That's the salt of the game, I think. The most crucial part for me is enjoying the ride. I guess teleports and accessibility to areas featuring interesting gaming content is the priority in that sense.
do some tedious grinds inbetween just enjoying yourself as much as possible and questing is king to skip alot of the early game.

Most important thing is to set realistic goals, approach skills in ways u enjoy. If u like a skill, try actively training. If u dislike the skill. Find the best afk methods
