Yes, Chris secured the boxes to the wall with heavy duty duct tape. My guess is that it may not do the trick for every size cat, so would start with a smaller arrangement and then build up if it is sturdy enough for your cat.

Using something your cat loves to encourage them to come out is your best bet. Treats, toys, catnip, etc. You can also spend time getting your cat comfortable going into their carrier so they're less anxious about the idea. We've got a great article on our site about this: www.preventivevet.com/cats/cat-carrier-stress-tips You can even do some clicker training and teach your cat to come to you on cue. It's a lot of fun!
