- I wanted to make a cat tree to complete my cooking room and decided to try making one out of driftwood! I've never built anything before so this was a new experience for me but I'm happy with how it turned out, and more importantly so are my cats!

When I'm crafting I used get irritable when my cats wanted to be right in the middle of everything. But I realized they just wanted to be a part of what I was doing.
They weren't hurting anything.
Other times I realize they're just curious

My cat refused to use the cat condo tower thing I bought her until I took it from the laundry room into the side of the kitchen. Now she uses it all the time because it’s smack dab in the middle of everything and she likes to sit on the top of it and overlook us haha.
My cats like to lie on my desk while I'm illustrating because the art lamp throws heat. Honestly they get in the way, but they also seem so content that it brings out the inner push-over in me. I ending up making them cushions and extending the desk space for them. Loving your pets means smiling wistfully, even when their furry/feathery/scaly butts are in the way.
That's one of their most adorable traits. I always make sure to let them smell the stuff I'm working on so that they feel included in the activity!

Im wondering how they clean it of dust and dandruff particles. I dont have cats at the moment and I still vacuum and dust every other day.

@@Momofukudoodoowindu Yeah and have only one cat. It was easy attached to the ceiling so I guess they could bring it out and clean it with water a couple of times a month. Vacuum it in between but all the little green stuff might come off while keeping it clean though.

The fact he has trained Haku to walk by his side and follow him on a place like a beach with no leash is incredible. Just goes to show how amazing of a trainer, and person Jun is.
Not to take away from his excellence, but when I traveled/lived in a motorhome for 4 years, my cats followed me on walks everywhere too. Mountains, rivers, boulders, I loved it!

To be fair, a professional would have probably countersunk the screws (so they don't stick out) and added legs to the bottom instead of felt pads. But yeah, this is awesome.

I was a little confused in seeing this in Jun's Kitchen, because he usually does cooking videos on this channel. Either way it was still fun to watch.

This is a great idea, my cats would love it! As for catnip, i see you grow yours in a pot. I grow mine in those giant water bottles and have holes drilled in the top half so i can pull the tops of branches out to trail down the bottle that they can play with/eat at will without decimating the plant. Here in winter it can grow in just the light from the window and it requires almost no watering as it works like a terrarium to keep them healthy.
Love this! I actually have a dead aspen tree in my yard that I have been wanting to make a cat tree with. I’m feeling very inspired.

What an ambitious first project. Nice job! For your next project, you can "countersink" your screw heads into the wood by either buying screw bits that have an extra piece to neatly cut out the space for the head or by using a larger bit to do the same thing. I would also keep an eye on the security of the spiral stairs, since you don't know how quickly the driftwood might break down as the cats put pressure on the steps. You can always consider an angle bracket to shore them up. I hope that you and your cats enjoy this for a long time!

I'd say Jun's made it a point to take his cats everywhere. Earlier videos show he bikes around with them. While most people think of cats as indoor pets, they also need room to be cats. So yeah, I'm glad he takes his cats to these adventures.

He usually takes Haku out of all three. Jun said in a video that Haku is an exceptionally laid back cat

I've already watched this a long time ago, but I decided to re-watch it again for fun. I love how Haku and Nagi take a bit to utilize the stairs/steps because they've grown up in condos. Poki just conquers it no problem because he was a stray. I know this is almost 3 years old and you have already moved, but you should counter sink your pilot holes for your screws Jun. I noticed you missed that as well on your aquarium shelf, it makes it much easier and nicer during assembly/the finish!

Cat nip isn't a drug per se... it has no actual drug-like effects on cats... It's similar to a sensory overload of a strong scent that cats love. Catnip is safe for cats. Fun fact: catnip is apart of the mint family, so mint may very likely have the same effect on cats!
