I just love your whole vibe and Gunther's as well!! Perfect pair! It's nice that you can escape the heat now and again without needing to drive hours! Thanks for sharing!
Love the snack box. Looks like a great spot. Those washboards are rough on my rolling earthquake, maybe I need to sell the hightop and pick up a 4runner.
As much as I support 4Runner fandom, a set of deflators and a quality 12v inflator is way cheaper. Air down for a comfier ride and keep your headroom 😉
Super fun video! Love the crafting in the wild! I'm heading out myself for a few days but had to watch your video first! 😉 You and Gunther make a great team! Thanks again for your generous hospitality sharing your life with us!
Caravan Carolyn sent me. I enjoyed 2 of your videos tonight, look forward to watching more. Camping, crafting, cooking, the views and don't forget Gunther, you have it all.
Hello! We always enjoy checking out fellow TH-camrs' adventures! Really enjoyed the camping... We do a lot of van camping in WI and MI but will be hitting the road soon and heading out to AZ for the winter! Thanks for sharing! 💙Terry and Terri
Found you after seeing your 4 runner on the SUV RVing channel with Tristan. I subscribed! I love the overall vibe of your channel. Working my way through the videos. Please more pie iron chef!!! Looking forward to more Gunther camping vids 👍🏻👍🏻
I just love your camping style. I just got home from 5 days on the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota with my home built teardrop trailer. I love your menu selections - both food and drink. Gunther really seems to enjoy camping with you.
Always look forward to your videos with Gunther and camping and your cooking. Do you make up your cooking recipes? They always look interesting and very yummy. Yep, Gunther is so darn cute camping with you, he's a very lucky and happy dog. Thanks for putting out great videos.
Never entirely. They typically start out with an idea, some questions, and a few guidelines. Then I research, and modify what I found for camping. Such as, I would like cake, but fires aren't allowed. Can you steam a cake? Google delivered me mushipan. Or, I saw that feta pasta recipe on TikTok, and thought it looked like an easy, one pot meal, but it's made in the oven. How can I make it in a skillet? Might as well save a dish and some time, by using pre-cooked pasta, while we're at it. It's all just inspiration, research, and experimentation. 🧑🔬
Hi there. I'm a new subscriber and thought I'd introduce myself. I used to camp all the time until I started raising my niece. Your adventure and views inspire me and while I'm not a foodie myself (I'd eat salted oatmeal and cold bars for days 🤣) my niece is and I hope by studying your recipes we can making camping more fun for her. Take care, and thank you for sharing your adventures.
Welcome! Being into food is a blessing and curse. My life would be so much simpler if I cared less, but it's also a lot of fun. 😂 Happy camping to you and your niece!
Was that a woodblock you were working on!? ( I majored in printmaking in college & woodblock prints were my favorite.) 115 hellish degrees in Phoenix today, so it was nice seeing you in ur winter duds up on the blustery rim👍💨💦
I hear that. I'm so ready to leave again. 🥵 The block is actually also the canvas, though I did use a woodblock carving tool to make the grooves. At first, my hope was that the stain would settle into the grooves, and reveal the design -- but the result was so faint. 😑 So this time, I used a darker, reddish stain to show the dark areas of Hogan's coat. Better, but still not there. I have a coffee color stain that I'll use for shadows and outlines, and then probably white wash paint the light parts of his coat, and any highlights. If it STILL sucks, I'll brayer it with ink, and truly make it a print! 😄
I meant to say Hi after watching this video a few days ago, cant remember why I didn't. That was a great place to camp, really lovely, and when it'd finished, I wanted more. Again, thanks.
The Snackle Box! 😂😅🤣😁 Love it! I’m gonna visit my $Tree, cuz that’s a great idea. Gunther really is a champ. I sure hope my new canine companion is as easy a camp buddy. Our first trip is on July 23rd. Wish us well! 😀🤞
Loved all of this, and I’m more stoked than ever for getting out there myself. Meanwhile, I think you need to create a recipe book combined with your great humour. You know how to camp like a boss! Seriously great looking food and so (mostly)simple too.
One more thought, My previous partner thinks you should consider being a voice-over re 📺, movies. Quite seriously...these compliments PLUS artwork/ graphics on art sites..ie: Little Edie from Grey Gardens. FAB!!! Thank you. ps..love your knowledge of medicinal 🌿. Thank y'all for amazing healing energy for Jax. In ways that you might consider???? aren't horrible, get rid of these poisonous toads/ frogs that kill our beloved pet families.
Love your dog and style and budget awareness. I only have a RAV4 but I’m fitting it out to go off-grid in my state (OH) funtil I retire, then something bigger for longer trips. I bought the same mattress you have, and I love it. I grew up camping in tents with pie-irons, so your recipes bring back beloved memories!
It's okay to use the thermally insulated last to store the ice cream. Just leave the cap off so the heat can escape through the top. Thusly the convection will keep it ice cream cold
Never been to AZ mostly because I hate the heat and need to learn to appreciate the desert. But you and other youtubers remind me there are some beautiful higher elevation areas to enjoy. Love the snacklebox idea-I have many of those things. Also, is it time for another tarp for rain and sun? One or two Green Elephant poles and a nice tarp, you can create a whole nother living area besides out of the car!
To prepare for the rain, I did buy a tarp, in addition to Gunther's jacket. I brought it, along with a couple bamboo poles. I had already exceeded my monthly camping budget -- so no actual tarp poles. 😬. The Sportz Cove turned out to be enough shelter, so I never set it up. My next spot is lower elevation, and will be much warmer (current predicted high: 94). I may set it up there, for more shade. We shall see!
love love love your videos, although u always inspire me to buy things you are using...i got that mist fan and just ordered weather tech sunshades, but seriously, love the products you use, always good quality.
Thank you... and sorry? 😅 I'm limited on space, so I really don't like having a lot of gear, nor do I like spending money. Therefore, when I actually buy something, you can rest assured that it was (probably too) thoroughly considered and researched. 🤓
Came across your channel and it has been an inspirational and became a subscriber! I am in the process of converting my SUV into a camper. May I ask what kind of mat you lay on the ground. I link would be greatly appreciated.
Just to be vigilant to make sure they're safe! If your dog has a tendency to wander, give chase, or follow their nose, a long tie-out is a good idea. Also regularly check their fur, ears, and feet for hitchhikers, like bugs and stickers. Set them up with a comfy resting spot, water, and if needed, shade. And enjoy your time together!
A sippy lid for a mason jar, how cool and your recipes are very interesting. I always keep pen and paper handy when I watch your videos. Yes I am old.
lol pen and paper never fails at least
Stitching is exactly how I spend my quiet alone time, so relaxing
Since I’m not very good at it, it takes my full attention - a good way to actively meditate 😌
Beautiful site! You handled the rain really well. Most enjoyable to watch this video. HA, and I love all the creative libations.
One of my top 3 spots!
Thanks for bringing us up to the rim w you. What fun! Summer camp revisited...
I just love your whole vibe and Gunther's as well!! Perfect pair! It's nice that you can escape the heat now and again without needing to drive hours! Thanks for sharing!
That bug was an Asian like longhorn beetle - very invasive!
Yikes! Had I known, I would have stomped on it!
Aww so much fun 😊 thanks for sharing your adventure ,

Nice! You'll love it here!
Wow! What a great campsite!
The 11th campsite of the past 10 months, but number 1 in my heart 🤩

Welcome aboard! Wildfire season and hot/wet weather is putting a damper on my campfire cooking, but it'll be back soon 😬 🤞
YOU are my favorite camper. U have inspired me to go with my little dog on Monday and make a suncatcher!
Wheee! Have fun and be careful!
30’ difference only 2 hrs away…pretty Cool!! Love, love, love your videos.
I absolutely love your videos! 💚🐶💚
I just love your camping style. I just got home from 5 days on the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota with my home built teardrop trailer. I love your menu selections - both food and drink. Gunther really seems to enjoy camping with you.
That sounds lovely -- and badass, building your own lil camper! 🤩
Oh and the coffee filter, genius!
Looks like an amazing time
It really was! Definitely would go back.
I love your snackel box!
I missed when you adopted Gunther. Really low key short legged cutie.! I’ve camped the Rim long long time ago!
He is already such a part of the family, it's hard to believe he's only been with us since April! th-cam.com/video/9Ge5A_dk8cg/w-d-xo.html
Great video, Gunther is a cutie pie 🥰
Out in the semi since March, sooo looking fwd to some SUV Mogollon Rim camping next week!
Yeaaaahhhh buddy!! Enjoy that fresh, cool air!

Another great video! I loved the art projects when rain in forecast. Gunther is becoming quite the camper. Woot Woot!

Loved it! I camp in a tiny camper DIY. I enjoy the spontaneity of it. So nice for a quick overnight getaway. Great video
Your video is very well paced

Makes sense!
I want to drive to Arizona and camp with you! Just bought the Napier Cove and it came yesterday! I am so excited to use it!

A very relaxing video, but I think you are a relaxed person anyway👍😄
Are those campsites free of charge?
Cheers from 🇨🇭🍻
😀 Accurate observation! Yes, amazingly, those sites are free and no permit needed either.
I bought me a snackle box!
And is there anything you can't do? 😄
plentyyyyyy 😂

Welcome and good luck with your build! The rug I have is this one: amzn.to/3zLjjUz
@@ShoestringMartha got it. Thx. I will be travelling with my Corgi. Any advice for camping with dog?
