Hi Rob, Nice job on the Acadiane, probably looks better than new now. :) Glad you enjoyed the models I sent in this package. The batmobile note goes with the funky green hotwheels model - that's just what popped into my head when I first saw it at the flea market.
@@MatchboxGarage That's exactly what I thought as well. Rob, Google pictures of the 1940s Batmobile. And I believe the model would be pronounced "a-KAY-dee-enne." Stay safe!
With the Phantom Corsair "Batmobile" - Something that would be unique, challenging and possibly a fantastic finished product... With the retro styling, but details on it, especially in the grill, that give it a look that hints at the Joel Schumacher Batmobiles. The colors of Val Kilmers Batmobile in the grill like the George Klooney Batmobile. Maybe with accents down the side or at the rear. While it doesn't have a get out the back, the early Batmobile designs never did. That only happened after the 1960s George Barris design for the TV show. Just my humble opinion. Anyway... 100% paint removal, and that new paint job is fantastic. Nicely done, Rob.
That Old School Batmobile, there was a larger Corgi release from the comic era. I think a small dorsal batwing from the back end, but DEFINITELY black with red trimmings
@@andrewphippsphillips1455 What I had in mind when I saw it: Black paint down the sides... Dark Grey on the hood and top all the way to the back, with lots of metal flake sparkle. Maybe some lines, not sure if black or red would be more appropriate. Large black bat emblem on the hood and small grey bat emblems on the doors. Not sure if I'd make changes to the actual physical structure, such as adding fins, since someone might want to restore to original down the road.
100% paint removal, and 100% admiration for the finished van. Looks like something expensive from Norev, now. Nice one. I'm sure I had a red one, with a different rear, with the coffee manufacturer 'Café Hag' on the sides. Old Majorette models are some of the very best you can get. I love 'em. The aircraft at 21:55, is a Fokker D VII, from the first world war. Some of them had mad colour schemes - their pilots were allowed to paint them how they wanted. Allied airmen of the Royal Flying Corps, and Royal Naval Air Service (they merged in 1918, to become the Royal Air Force), saw these groups of brightly coloured aircraft, and dubbed them 'Flying Circuses'.
some model kit of Richthofen's machine had stickers on it that went on the upper wing, a writing to be read from "behind" reading "Kennsch Mi Noch?" (southwest german dialect for "do you recognize me?") maybe gto them, it was a kind of circus, a deadly one for sure.
💯 % paint removal. Gotta be honest I’m not a Majorette fan or owner but this restoration Rob knocked it out of the park. Fantastic job. Absolutely love it.
It's one of those quirky Citroen vans we see on the road from time to time. What a transformation, I love everything you've done to this van Rob. Wow, that colour, It looks really classy now too. Oh yeh, yipee, 100% paint removal!
100%! First time I’ve ever met one of your videos with no videos! I love the yellow. Everyone goes black or red or something dark now, I love the bright color for a change. First time I’ve commented after a year or so of following. Love your videos every time. Thanks brother for the entertainment!
Hey rob I always appreciate your videos and I love sticking to the end and I also appreciate that you Joe what you started with on the pictures for the promotion and not spoiling it with showing the completed vehicle before I even watched the video
A rare 100% paint removal. There are few cars in that lot that would look good with a colour shift. The van you did looked great. Looking forward to the next one
That Citroën is a very cool casting. I was very surprised at the 100% paint removal because of the texture of the casting. I can't imagine skipping through the video, like you talked about, I love seeing each step that goes into the project. Sometimes I get ideas for my own projects from seeing how you fix or make something for the castings. I like the yellow you chose for the Citroën, I think it suits the car.
Hi Rob just want to thank you for pointing out the Molotov chrome pen to me ,I'm restoring a 1975 racer bike ,the chrome was good but had a few pits and digs in it .I don't really have the money to have it rechromed so was looking for a temp fix until I could afford it .the chrome pen was the answer ,great produced .cheers mate
Acadia is what Canada was called before it was called when the French were in charge. Acadiane = French-Canadian person, Cajun in Louisiana U.S.A.. ( Ah-cade-e-n ). It kinda all makes since with Citroen being a French Company. Oh by the why, What a great job mate. I do love the simple castings and this one is no exception. Smooth paint, proper decals and the wheels are perfecto. Thanks again for all the fun Rob !
No skipping ahead here. Thoroughly enjoy the vids. Thx for sharing your hard work. Beautiful job on this one. I agree, one of my favorite castings too. 👍👍
Great job on this one. The casting is really good. After 100% paint removal the choice of a yellow coat of paint was perfect. The in boxing was cool too. Would love to see an airplane rest some time. Cheers
Juan at Matchbox Ressurection has not only renovated a van like this but has built a whole story around the Majorette models in his excellent 'French Connection ' series. Why don't you have a try at making some decals of your own? Would add to the entertainment value...
100% removal! And what a jewel you restored, it's a wonderful piece. At first sight it seemed to me a Renault R4. Anyhow, it came out beautiful and yes, completely agree it's been one of your best jobs, congrats! 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏🚘
Hi Rob,what a video, you turned that Citroen Acadiane around looks totally different, good choice of wheels.the details are so cool, nice selection of other models.
Wow ,the Citroën Arcadiane is very nice. Awesome job :-). From the unboxing cars are the Scania truck ,the Mercedes bus and the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am my favorites .Wonderful castings :-).
Hi Rob. Excellent job on the Citroen. I wasn;t sure on the choice of wheels at first but they do work nicely. I like these old Majorettes. Been restoring a bunch of mine. I am using primitive equipment though, paint stripper, soap and water and spray cans as I don;t have a boothe yet or spray gun. So I have just been doing the "easy" restos. Those that don't have a fancy colour scheme or shade. lol Keep up the good work.
Great job with the restoration of the Citroen Acadian look like a Mail Truck . The Race Car redo in Texaco and Hazolin in tribute to Danny Alison Number 42 .
Rob I'm huge fan of your channel your videos make me smile and keep my mental health on track and love relax and watch your exciting videos and once again hope you and family are safe and well ❤️👍
For the midnight magic car, Matchbox would use different names for the same casting depending on the color sometimes. I noticed this a while back and I thought it was interesting that the changed the name of the casting. Just some additional information for a few of the castings: The red ambulance that is mashed is a Chevrolet/GMC from the 1970's. I have a hand full of them, but I don't believe I have seen a red one before. The eight-wheel tanker is a Leyland. The orange flat bed truck is a Leyland as well.
Great job again and 100 % strip 👍. I had the car version which was one of my favourite. It was in that dull yellow/orange but it just suited. Loving the wheels and decals too.
Great video Rob, congrats on the 100% paint removal, fantastic unboxing, beautiful job on the mail van, wheels are a perfect choice, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻☮️, Stay safe, we're experiencing phase 2 / 1 here in the US, some people just didn't listen, hopefully you guys are OK.
There were two ladies who worked in my dad's village post office in France. One of them seemed to delight in making herself as unhelpful as possible, the other would do anything for you. La Poste still used these vans till quite recently there, in the back woods. You used to see unsprayed versions around as you suggested too, I think the local baker had a very pale blue version. Beautiful restoration/makeover job. And an unboxing - "its just like Christmas", as someone else says…
What a stunning looking model now you’ve worked your magic on it, I love those wheels too, they really suit it and your detailing is perfect, top job, well done! 👌👍😊Some cool models in your unboxing too, I like the combine!
Hi Rob,

Definitely 100% paint removal.😎👍
Phantom Corsair was a real car! It was a 1938 concept vehicle. The original was a gloss black with thick white walls.
💯 % paint removal. Gotta be honest I’m not a Majorette fan or owner but this restoration Rob knocked it out of the park. Fantastic job. Absolutely love it.
100% paint removal 👍why would anyone skip straight to the end? The fun is in watching the transformation surely.
Lovely bit of work on this truck, the yellow fits it perfectly. Nicely done, sir.
