Side note: a diffuser is to soften the light to create softer shadows, not necessarily make your skin seem smoother. Since a ring light is already hitting you from multiple angles, you can probably get away without buying a diffuser for it

Update. I bought it and the light is awesome... but that diffuser is absolute garbage. It didn't even fit and the seam tore while trying to put it on. Light=yes. Diffuser= waste of $$
I came to see a ring light review and learned something’s about cámaras .... great, also this was the best review on this ring light definitely going to buy it with this review.
Have you tried using one of your softboxes in the same position as the ringlight and place the camera in front of the softbox? Same effect but you don't get the weird halo in your eyes. Another option to try with the softbox is putting a small LED light in front and above and a little to the side of the camera to create a slight shadow under the nose. Blending soft and hard lights can make for some nice soft light but with more contrast because of the direct light.
Thank you for the video! This is exactly was I was looking for...thinking of adding a ring light to my kit to be more portable. Also, you used the plastic white diffusers and then put the fabric diffuser on top, but did you use them separately , if so which did you prefer?

I think better then ring light is lightycase.com. I got it for 3 months now and i can said i do not use ring light anymore. I do not need to carry heavy ring on some places to record good video, only i need to do is to have my phone with me.

The light is already diffused. That’s why there’s not much difference. If you take the panels off you’ll see the big difference. Seem kind of sketchy to me but now I think I’m just going to get one of this. Pretty helpful review 👍🏼
If I’m not mistaken…. The white plastic panels on the ring light are the actual diffuser… they’re no need for another diffuser on top of a diffuser maybe that’s why it didn’t made any change when you took it off lol

What are the other 2 LED light setups you are using?

the plastic bits that you snapped on in the beginning is the diffuser. You just had 2 different options for diffusion. Amber, and white.
