Thanks man I've got a 2000 Chevy Metro 1 L 5 speed manual. I'm rebuilding the engine kind of for the fun of it. I saw that Nissan had made a 3 cylinder 1 L with 400 hp. Huge turbo. I don't need 400. I'm looking at about 200 hp do you think this would help or should I just go with something far more expensive?
I just bought an AMR500 last week and designed an engine mount bracket to secure it to the old holes that the power steering would of normally mounted to on my 1.6 8v. I dont mind the noise of it as the zuki wont be my DD. What size pulley were you running to get 3-4psi of boost? I want to aim for around 5psi ideally. My AMR came with a 2" pulley and the stock crank shaft pulley is 5". Also was wondering about your PCV set up. If I wanted to run the AMR with no blow-off valve, how would I route my PCV fittings from my Geo valve cover? Valve cover > PCV Valve > Stock Intake Port?
Joshua Donell I’m using the 2” pulley as well on the super charger. I personally wouldn’t recommend running it without a bov. That’s a lot of pressure for an engine at idle.
@@That_Samurai_Guy Noted, I'm sort of learning as I go here, since there really arent many zuks running the AMR. Will look into a BOV this week. Anything else you can suggest/recommend that wasnt shown in this video? Distributor modifications? Timing? Etc
Joshua Donell I didn’t do any modifications to the distributor. Although My at Zuks off road recommends running boosted engines without the vacuum advance. He has a write up about it on the Zorum. And The timing is set to 22-26 total (base plus advanced).
@@That_Samurai_Guy Sounds good, I removed the vac advance on my MS1 a while ago and have timing set to 20*. What fuel pump are you running? I have a K&N 1-4psi low pressure fuel pump and have it regulated to 2psi
Joshua Donell I’m running a knock off bosch 044 fuel pump. You will need to run a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator. For every 1lbs of boots you will need 1 psi of fuel pressure. Make your return line from the pressure regulator way bigger than the stock one and you should be able to get the pressure down far enough not to flood the carb out.

@@That_Samurai_Guy my carb kit is on it's way from the states, then I'll be looking to get the AMR500. First couple of questions are around the physical mounting of the supercharger. Is the bracket something you bought, or fabricated? With respect to the drive, do you simply replace the existing alternator belt with a longer one, or do you need to upgrade all the pulleys to allow a different type of belt to be fitted?
@@rodbacon9489 I bought the mounting bracket from a guy that is no longer in business. It basically looked like a large alternator bracket. It mounted to the power steering holes in the block. I installed a power steering pulley on the crank so it had two separate spots for belts. One for the supercharger and one for the alternator.
I am running 3-4 psi. You definitely feel it. You can change out the pulley to get more boost. The only drawback is that the supercharger is fairly loud.
Awesome, you even covered the carb and fuel regulator modifications. This is probably the best 2min video I've seen on boosting anything.

Jon Smith it’s a 40 mm cv carb. The intake for it is a myside from zuks off road.

Adam Anderson I don’t think this would give you enough boost. I am not an expert though.
200 hp per liter of displacement . If you don't get it right the engine will blow . Even if you get it right the engine might blow .
Have you feel more performance before install AMR500?
Does it really make that much of a difference?

I don’t know very much about efi, but I would think that you would have to change up the ecu.

Meister Productions yes there is some tuning required to run boost with a carb.
